--------------------------------------------------
Time turners are dangerous devices, and awful things happen to wizards and witches who meddle with time.
Or do they?
For Hermione Granger, an accident that leads her back in time changes the course of nearly a dozen lives, her own included. Love where there was none before, hope where it was lost, trust where it had always been suspect.
A young Gryffindor girl that wouldn’t have existed before.
For Aurora Snape, starting school when the threat against Muggleborns and the chamber of secrets makes it more difficult to be the Potion’s Master daughter. Or making Draco see that perhaps his perception of Muggleborns was wrong. And it certainly doesn’t help when one of the few Gryffindors who are nice to her is the one person who really shouldn’t know her too well: her mother.

I have to say for a fanfiction the word count is amazing if you consider all Harry Potter books have a word count of over 1 million and this is half of that.

If you read this I would recommend that you should have at minimum watched the first 4 movies because this story is more about Hermione, Severus, and Aurora and doesn't focus a lot on Harry so some events like the Dragon fight only get mentioned in passing.

After having an accident with a time turner Hermione gets send back in time to same time as Harries parents attend Hogwarts.

The authors did an excellent job of taking some of the big plot holes and using them to their advantage but of course, it is not perfect and they also create some. I feel that some of the plot inconsistencies could be fixed with some editing, like just rearranging a few chapters and thereby changing the motivation and the pacing a bit. But for its length and how fanfictions are in most cases written and published immediately, this can be forgiven.

The entire plot is in two timelines the current time (book/movie time period) and the past, I think one of the challenges of writing in two timelines is keeping the audience engaged but the plot relevant. This is done really well.

Spelling and grammar
So I don't think I really had any problems with the grammar it was quite good and I didn't notice any serious issues. Sadly some of the spelling mistakes are really unfortunate you really notice that the author used a spellchecker as some of the mistakes where for instance a "was" instead of "as" this happened more at the start and got less as the book progressed.

My rating
So I would divide this book into two parts and put the divide at about the Order of the Phoenix. I would give the first part 5.5 stars as I really enjoyed how Severus and Hermione got to know each other and how Severus joined the death eaters and the switching between the timelines

Maybe 3.5 in the second part because that is where some of the character decisions got a bit weird and some of those plot holes happened that could benefit from some editing.

My kindle said this would take 40 hours to read and let’s just say I started it Friday at 330am and finished it Sunday at 430pm. Have I slept in 3 days? No not really. Do I regret a moment of lost sleep, absolutely not.

This fic was amazing, if you want to read the story told in a new way from a perspective you’ve never thought of with a love story that defies all odds this is the fic for you!

Third year is coming to a close, the trio has just saved Sirius Black and Hermione and Harry are talking about her time turner. He’s fiddling with it and an accidental slip when taking it back sends Hermione hurtling back 20 years into the past.

Now she’s at Hogwarts and some very familiar people are her classmates, James Potter, Lily Evan, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Severus Snape. People aren’t who she thought they were and she has 20 years of history locked away behind an unbreakable vow.

Back in the 90’s there’s a curly haired first year starting school a year behind the golden trio, she looks an awful lot like one of their members and her names Aurora Snape.

This fics a commitment and one well worth it, it’s going to frustrate you, it’s going to break your heart, you’re going to walk away having people you thought you loved and I cannot recommend it enough.

All timetravels to Marauder era I had read before were with timeskip happening after 7th year or even later. Here it happens after 3rd year while Hermione doesn't still now much about 70's, which definitely make more easy to make friends with Severus. I really like how author portrays characters, James/Lily relationship isn't all "one true love" as if usually described, Dumbledore is pretty revolting but isn't plainly bashed. OCs and McGonagalls are wonderful additions to canon characters. Writing is really solid, this fic doesn't get boring at all despite being very long. Drarry line is a sweet addition to main pairing too. I also liked how epilogue and other post-war snippets weren't too corny.

This was such an interesting use of time-turning and interactions between the older generation of wizards and Harry's generation. Beautiful melding of timelines, though the dialogue was sometimes a little meh. Definitely took more inspo from the movies than from the books. I really liked the characterizations and relationship between SS and HG developed during their school years. Also lots of great queer representation.

amazing story! It gets a little confusing when the author switches from one era to the next, but other than that, it was written very well. Right amount of angst, suspense, romance, drama, fighting scenes.
