It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s time for Pride! Okay, scratch that—it’s time for another round of parades, parties, and good times. And nothing spices up a party like a little kink. Surely belligerent parents, jealous ex-lovers and whips, spanking posts and ropes will keep it classy. Add a lot of alcoholic beverages, and what could possibly go wrong? Four sexy novellas, four brand new stories, each one by a bestselling author, puts a spin on Pride and celebrates gay romance in all its glory. Each novella is about finding love and maybe a little—or a lot—of kink just to keep it interesting.
Susan Scott lives with her husband in a small town in north Georgia. They're both owned by their Yorkie, Sophie, who is the undisputed queen of the household. Susan enjoys scrapbooking, traveling and reading and writing romance. Susan writes M/F and M/M erotic romance.
I agree that the cover is wonderful. I love that. There are four stories: 1 - enemies to lovers, 2 - neighbors to lovers, 3 - best friends to lovers, 4 - hate to lovers. All of them had good bones to start with but in every story something was missing for me to make it complete or even good. Since they are short it's hard to make it work sometimes but in most of them I barely felt the chemistry and I really could not muster much interest to continue but decided to finish anyway. I would have given it 2.5 stars but for the editing. It needed work.
I love me some dirty filthy talking men and this story didn’t disappoint me. Bailey a Dom pur sang with a rough attitude but just right enough... He hates the musician Skyland he thinks he’s the biggest brat ever.. luckily he adores brats. And Skyy..? He just needs Bailey even he doesn’t know it himself. When they being brought together by Bailey’s brother Dylan they couldn’t foresee how they perfectly fit. What if they are for each other exactly what they are yearning for?
This was a rough, dirty mouthed, delicious read. I loved every page. It had a good and steady story between all the roughness. We get to know of a hard and heartbreaking past from both Bailey and his awesome brother Dylan as well of Skyy’s shocking family.
Written in a fast paced very captivating style. Lovely yes lovely personalities! We can view some beautiful bdsm ! Very appealing story!
With a title with “kinky”, I was expecting 4 stories full of BDSM or at least some manties, but only the first and last stories had any (both BDSM).
Whisky Dreams 3 stars
Evan was heartbroken when he thought Mark broke up with him 4 years ago. They are now living in the same city again, but Mark’s business partner and best friend wants Evan for himself. He also introduces him to the pleasures of BDSM.
Enjoyable, but some continuity errors brought my pleasure down
Fireballed 4 stars
Despite not having any kink, I really enjoyed this story about fireman Tennessee and his neighbor Jeremiah.
Tequila Sunrise 4 stars
Linc and Rafe are college friends who are reunited when Linc relocates to Savannah for a job. Will their friendship survive when Linc comes out?
This was another kink-less short, but i really liked it.
Sky’s Bailey 4.5 stars
This was my favorite and best fit the kinky theme.
Skyy is a young and famous musician trying to get his life back on track after his parents hijacked his life. Bailey is his agents brother who helps him gain control through Shibari rope play.
I think their love comes on too fast to be realistic, but I found this to be the sexiest and hottest of the four stories.
I do like that despite being short stories, all of them end in HEAs
Whiskey Dreams-Shannon West; Shannon West Excellent story, developed characters, heartbreaks & sexy fucking men. 4 Stars
Fireballed-Susan E. Scott; Susan E. Scott Cute & fluffy insta-Love. One short scene may be trigger for abuse. Overall consider me whelmed. 3 Stars.
Tequila Sunrise-Sara York Sara York Religious persecution, homophobia, self awareness, coming out & tequila. Rushed and too easily resolved. Not whelmed. 2 Stars
Skyy’s Bailey-TS Mckinney; TS McKinney Sexy characters, strong Dom & bossy bottom with conniving evil doers. I don’t think Shibari will cure anxiety or stage fright but I do know it is calming. Another case of insta-love and the introduction to BDSM was dangerously rushed for the sake of plot events. But, the whole thing worked for me. It is Fiction & a short story so, I’ll allow it. 4 Stars.
So, average of 3.25 stars rounded down because 2 stories had nothing to do with kinky.
Mac - very strong alpha male, totaly loved his character and his actions from the very beginning. Perhaps a bit of a grudge holder but I love how it transferred into something else.
Evan - he seems very entertaining and fun, hell I'd love to go out dancing with him - and his outfit choices were pretty epic.
The interaction between Evan and Mac from the beginning was quite hostile, which honestly built the suspense - and Mac's dom qualities put Evan firmly in sub mode - I havent read a Dom/sub book in ages and I absolutely adored it.
I like their "coming to a head" moment, and realizations, it was sweet
Fireballed - 4/5
Oh I loved the nickname Fireball it fit so well, especially given the way Jer acts and the way that Ten collects whiskey - it's pretty fitting. The pets in this I think were my favourite - Princess is written to be an actual princess and that was adorable.
Slow yet fast moving - it felt like nothing happened then everything happened. Working through their issues and Jers past was just icing on a cake I think. Overall it was a great story.
Tequila Sunrise - it's at this moment I realize all the books have been named after alcohol .................. 2/5
I think this is a case of "Finding someone that was there all along" after a space of some time, I love stories that start out this way, friends
Rafe - he seems a bit confused and unsure of himself - though I think his job would have many a perk
Linc - self assured and with it, I like him.
I had an issue with this one, I hate when someone isn't quite sure of themselves, I like a bit of suspense but when most of the story goes into their "are they, are they not" .. "do I feel like that, do I not" .. this just really wasnt the story for me
Skyy's Bailey - 5/5
I love a good good BDSM story - this one had heardache in the background and some goodness in the end, this was an awesome story to read - save the best for last? does this ring true.. 100%.
Bailey was a hardass man but yet a softie, I found his backstory compelling and just wanted things to work out for him.
Sky was something else, I feel bad for his past/having to come back up from having what he did, what heartbreak.
I'm so happy about this story. So happy.
I usually have a harder time with anthologies, hating most of the stories, so for 1 hate of 4 I think it was a pretty epic book and definitely recommend if you like short stories. And overall I'd give the book a 4/5*
First of all, can we just talk about the ridiculously hot guy in the cover? Because yowza!
Ok, 4 stories of guys getting together and trying to make it work. If you notice, all the names have something to do with booze and all the stories are named after booze.
Of the 4, my fave was Fireballed by Susan E Scott. It's the story of a fireman and his see but flaky but totally awesome neighbor. Tennessee, the fireman, meets Jeremiah for the first time when J runs to his house because he's burning his kitchen down. Tennessee tells Jeremiah that his kitchen isn't burning. That's the first time Tenz rescues Jeremiah, but not the last. They are ridiculously cute together.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more kink in a book titled "Kinky Pride". I found book 1 to be just ok.. The second and third stories were pretty good but not very kinky. Book 4 was definitely the best of them. I really enjoyed it. There were a few editing errors throught the book but nothing too bad.
This anthology of kinky Pride stories is a light little read - yes I said it was light, but hot.
Four novellas about men who like to take a little walk on the wild side of kink, and show their Pride doing so.
The book starts off with Whiskey Dreams, a story about a boy(man) with a broken heart running into the man who broke it and his sexy, Dommy best friend and co-owner of the newest, hottest gay bar in Atlanta. It turns out that the break up had been orchestrated by the ex-boyfriend's now very pregnant wife. However, there was a happy ending for our boy, he found out what he really wanted was a sexy Dom to love him and take care of him and he finds it in the best friend.
In Fireballed we meet cute and, yes, twinkie Jeremiah, next door neighbour to the hot fireman called Tennessee. A moment of panic over a pan on fire on the stove brings Jeremiah crashing into Tennessee's life, and the man can't help fall for the loveable Fireball of fun, flirtation and sass. Throw in a Yorkie called Princess, a German Shepard called Buddy, a controlling ex-boyfriend and a pregnant sister and it was a great little story.
Tequila Sunrise is a story about college besties finding out that they were actually much more while dealing with homophobic relatives and unexpected life events.
Skyy's Bailey
Now this story just hit all the right buttons for me. I would give this one a 5 out of 5 for sure. Bailey is a broken man from a broken home. He watched his abusive father murder his mother even as he hid his younger brother and drew his father away when he was less than a decade old. That night he lost his entire family, brother included.
Bounced from foster home to foster home, Bailey grew up with a chip on his shoulder and a lot of rage. He also had a fear he was as much of a monster as his father had been.
Fast forward to the present, a chance encounter and a cage fight gone wrong and Bailey had turned his life around and found a way to leash the beast inside of him though the BDSM lifestyle. And he has his brother his brother back in his life. Evan had been adoped by a music mogel and had followed in his dad's footsteps. He'd also used his considerable wealth to track Bailey down.
Enter Skyy, spoiled teen rock star with true talent who had crashed and burned hard and had been put under his greedy parents conservator-ship. Even had been his manager and was his friend and had managed a three month reprieve for Skyy. The problem is, Skyy has performance anxiety. Which was why he'd used the drugs and alcohol to take off the edge. But he HAD to stay sober or risk being put back under his parents thumb despite now being an adult. Which is where Bailey and his BDSM lifestyle came in.
This story has one of my favorite kinks in it - shibari. And maaan it was a hot one.
It was a nice little anthology of stories - short and sweet, with lots of heat.
Whiskey Dreams is a fun and exciting BDSM story, as Mac is in love with his best friend's ex, Evan. I love this story, as it's one of my favorite tropes. And this one has some extra fun things, like Mac introducing Evan to BDSM.
I love both Evan and Mac. Seriously, the way Evan handles the Scarlett situation is damn impressive.
In the end, they learn that sometimes it's necessary to let go of your past if you want to move forward.
Their story is a combination of sweet, tender and sexy!
Fireballed by Susan E. Scott
Fireball is a great novella between neighbors.
It has a twelve year age gap, which is super fun. Is just so darn funny and adorable, and I just adore the hell out of Jeremiah.
As they try to fight their mutual desires, they just can't help themselves. When they are together, it's hot! And the two dogs are just beyond precious!
This tale is just full of humor and sweetness!
Tequila Sunrise by Sara York
I adored Tequila Sunrise. It's a good second chance story between friends.
Linc and Rafe, old college friends, reunite when Linc moves to town. They attended a religious school, and being out certainly wasn't an option.
I love the religious issues in this story, with the religious family and their expectations. It's such a large problem in today's world and I love how it's addressed here.
This tale is emotional, riveting and sweet!
Skyy's Bailey by TS McKinney
Wow. I really enjoyed Skyy's Bailey.
I love celebrity stories, and this one definitely has an interesting twist. Bailey's needed to help Skyy overcome his performance anxiety, and boy do I enjoy the manner in which he does so. I
n general, I love Skyy's story, as it's emotional, gripping and awful. I adore both men, and I loved this read!
Kinky Pride contains Whiskey Dreams by Shannon West, Fire Ball by Susan E Scott, Tequila Sunrise by Sara York, and Skyy’s Bailey by TS McKinney. All are really good stories with great characters. I will concentrate on two of the stories for this review. Whiskey Dreams by Shannon West: First person POV in this story. Usually not my favorite POV but in this story it really works. Evan he works at an Atlanta News station, he has a drinking problem, he just wants to be numb and forget the past mistakes he has made. He has headaches from and injury and only does casual hook ups. Mac Co owns the bar that Evan drinks at. He was best friends with Evan’s ex. They were in the army together. He thinks that Evan left his best friend when he needed him most. When these two get the truth sorted out they have a chemistry that is off the charts hot. Deeply emotional read too. Healing for both characters that really touched my heart. The next story I loved was Tequila Sunrise by Sara York: Rafe and Linc are the lovers. The ending to this particular story is jarring but the rest of it was amazing. These two have a connection that you can feel as you read it. They both have things to over come but once they do you know they will be better together because of it. Overall: Kinky Pride is a must read all the stories are well done and well thought out. I loved the emotion and connection all the characters have. Highly recommend this anthology you are sure to find an author you love in it and maybe find a new to you author too.
Whiskey Dreams I'm not sure how I feel about this story. This is enemies to lovers. Evan was hurt, emotionally, by an ex that he still dreams about and self-medicates every night.
Mac can't forgive Evan for the pain that he caused Mark, one of his close friends, and he didn't want the drama that Evan seems to bring with him. He judges too fast and maybe too harsh.
My problem with this story is that everything is based on one lie that someone else told years ago. I don't like stories where something could easily be cleared up if someone just some up. Also, why have a Mac and a Mark when it is a short read?
It ended well enough, but it drug on for a bit in the beginning and middle. 2.5 stars for me.
Fireballed Ten(Zack) gets a shock to his life via his neighbor, Jeremiah. Jeremiah is a fireball (should be firecracker, but it is a play on words with the whiskey) and barrels into his life when a fire is in his kitchen. These two stumble around each other while they try to figure the other out. They need to contend with jobs, family, and an overbearing ex.
This is a decent story. I think a little more could have been done, but I liked it. 3-3.5 stars
Tequila Sunrise Linc is finally going to see his best friend, Rafe. Linc isn't out, but he isn't hiding who he is. He and Race went to a very strict Christian college where he would have been expelled for being gay. He has had a crush on Rafe since they first met, but has never acted on it.
They both have to figure out how things might work and Rafe has a lot of secrets from his parents. When Linc comes out to Rafe, he doesn't react well. Rafe has a few mental and emotional blocks to get over, and that is nothing compared to his parents.
This is tied as my favorite story in the anthology. I loved how well the characters act with each other and how everything plays out. 4 stars.
Skyy's Bailey
Bailey's brother needs his help. His friend and client, Skyy, needs to find a legal way to get over his doubts and stage fright. Dylan wants Bailey to use some form of BDSM to help Skyy with his problem. Both guys think he is crazy and when their attempt fails, they are happy to walk away. Bailey decides to try one more thing so that he can help his brother and save the lost look he sees in Skyy's eyes. The two might have had doubts, but when they make things work it is magic. Bailey will try his best to help Skyy soar and in return Skyy comes out of his shell and is the brat that Bailey has been looking for.
This is my other favorite story. If you like Shibari then check this one out. 4 stars.
I received a copy of this from LesCourt Author Services. This is my honest opinion and review.
This is a fun and entertaining read and I enjoyed all four of the stories in Kinky Pride. The only thing missing for me is that there isn't a lot of kink in it except for Skyys's Bailey which is my favorite. I love Skyy & Bailey and this story is the most cohesive and complete of the four. Their connection is amazing, their chemistry is sizzling hot and the backstory of Bailey and his brother Dylan is incredible. Overall the characters are wonderful and the storylines are intriguing in all four of the stories and I am definitely going to read more books by all of these authors.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I love a great anthologies and this one is a kinky good one. These are all great stories that are short which just makes me want more. However I like how they developed and it great read from authors I haven't never read before.
this was pretty fluffy and sweet and nice.. it was a sweet change to stories for me.. i enjoyed the less angst and the love and the feelings and emotions. and these authors all did an amazing job with these stories and characters. very well done
Oh yeah, an editor. Every one of these stories needs to be heavily edited. I'm not sure how this went to print with all of these mistakes, it really threw the stories off, and they were good storylines.
I really liked all the story's. However, I will say only 2 of these really fit the kinky theme. All of them were good reads but Shannon West and TS McKinney had fantastic stories. I wanted more from both. I def reccomend this anthology.
Whiskey Dreams, Shannon West -- 3.5 stars Don't really like the BDSM stuff. But I love the two of them. I just very disappointed with how it ended. It's just out of the blue. I keep thinking there's missing chapters.
I enjoyed the first and last stories as they had the kink 😉 All stories were enjoyable to read. I did feel skimming through some of them but stuck it out.
I really enjoyed the different stories in this anthology. My favorite was Skyy and Bailey. I liked the hate to lovers aspect. Almost as much as I loved the shibari. The other stories were great in their own rights but I Bailey and Skyy did it for me.
I love everything about this from the authors to the publishers. I have been a fan and loyal reader of Sara York's for many years. Love all her work though the Colorado Heart series is my favorite. When I found T. S. McKinney I swear I heard a choir sing. Her work is so good I had to spread the word. Then when I got to get books with Shannon West I was in paranormal heaven and I had a new author to enjoy. This is the first time I have read Susan E. Scott and I'll be checking out more from her, too. I am a BIG fan of anthologies and this is why.
I read all 4 stories in this anthology. Some stories are light on the kink while others are a bit more hardcore.
Each story was wonderful on it's own. Some I feel were snippets of what could be a larger story, while others were just perfect.
Whiskey Dreams by Shannon West--This could have easily been a second chance romance but turned into something so much better. The kink is maybe a 3 outta 5, but this is definitely a story that could easily be transformed into a full story. This is only the beginning between these 2 characters.
Fireballed by Susan E Scott-- This neighbor story was cute. Kink factor is low to non existent IMO. Just a nice short love story.
Tequila Sunrise by Sara York-- friends to lovers, nice story. low on the kink factor. this story also has the opportunity to be expanded and be more but at the same time just another nice short love story.
Skyy's Bailey by TS McKinney-- enemies to lovers. 4.5/5 for kink factor. This is probably the kinkiest story of them all. Characters are the most developed and although can be expanded, it was perfect as is.
