Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Plot/Storyline: 📖📖📖📖
Feels: 🦋🦋🦋🦋
Emotional Depth: 💔💔💔
Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡⚡
Romance: 💞💞💞💞
Sensuality: 💋💋💋💋
Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑🍑🍑
Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥
Humor: Yes, a bit
Perspective: First person, alternating hero and heroine

(These are all personal preference on a scale of 1-5 (yours ratings may vary depending what gives you feels and how you prefer you sex scenes written, etc) except the Steam Scale which follows our chart from A Love Less Ordinary )

Should I read in order?
It’s not totally necessary here, but you’ll get to know the side characters, planet, and everyone’s background much better if you do!

Basic plot:
Holly knows some holiday magic and finally make Gorrard see that they belong together.

Give this a try if you want:
- Alien holiday novella!
- Sci-fi romance
- Alien hero/human heroine pairing
- Heroine pursues hero
- Age gap – older hero that has white in his hair and heroine is in her 20s
- Unrequited love
- Oblivious hero (for the first part)
- Hero has a sweet tooth and heroine enjoys cooking
- Medium to high steam for a novella – 3 full scenes (I counted...I might be off)

Ages:
Hero is mid 40s and heroine is 28

My thoughts:
I enjoyed this holiday novella quite a bit! Holly pursues Gorrard HARD in this book and that’s not usually my thing, but I really liked a lot about their push and pull together. When Gorrard’s eyes are opened to Holly, the tension build great for me. I love Lauren’s writing and angsty feelings and sex scenes. I am really sad this is the last one I see currently narrated of the series with Mason Lloyd. I just want him to read me every book! Every single book….

Anyway, the denial of feelings and how often Holly put herself out there for Gorrard got a touch tiring for me, so I did level at 4 stars. But I really do recommend this whole series including this novella! (At least, if you like what I like and like what I’ve listed above...)

Cock/Hero Stats:

Quotes/thoughts:

Content warnings:

Locations of kisses/intimate scenes: I already returned my book and now I’m second guessing my notes...I think it’s this was it but I might be wrong!

⭐⭐
2 stars.

➕ What I liked :

Some cute parts.

Some sweet parts.

The Christmas/holiday vibes.

➖ What I disliked:

A little too light on the sci-fi vibes/feel.
(In everything from how the aliens talked to the surroundings etc.)

It is interesting that the heroine is the pursuer….. But the heroine is too pushy and almost aggressive in her pursuit and she kept being rebuked and rejected over and over by the hero, and even-though the reader knows the hero is into the heroine…. The constant rejections and pushiness is also about consent/consent issues….. but also after all those rejections and chasing where was the heroines pride?

The hero was too resistant and clueless but also somewhat thoughtless both indirectly and directly towards the heroine….. even-though he thought he was doing what he thought was best for them both.

A little too much negative focus on the age difference.
(The hero really had big issues with the age difference….. but the heroine was 28 and the hero in his 40’s so not that big of a age difference…. The hero kept on talking about her youth and her future like he was in his 80’s or something and it was very OTT, some issues with age difference would be understandable but so much is just OTT)

Too much miscommunication and misunderstandings.
(From both main characters, but especially the heroine really should have tried to tell and explain to the hero about her feelings and done it in a more direct way.)

Both main characters were rather immature in how they acted towards each other.

The heroines friends were annoying and also encouraged the heroine to keep on pursuing the hero over and over and it was unhelpful and unhealthy behavior.

A little jumbled/rushed in some parts.

It’s Beacon’s first Christmas and all the humans and the aliens are celebrating together. Holly just has one item on her Christmas list…Gorrard. Gorrard who insists he is just her friend. Holly has known since she first laid eyes on him that he was meant to be hers. She doesn’t care about the age difference, or his scars she just wants him. So this Christmas she is going to make him realise that age is just a number and that it’s never too late.

I am so glad Gorrard is getting a book! Gorrard has been searching for decades to find his lost race, when we meet him in Alien Instincts, the first book in the series he had almost lost hope. But, finally finding his lost family and friends is bittersweet. He has aged decades whilst everyone he knows has been in stasis and remained the same.

Holly was held captive as a slave and it is Gorrard who she instantly trusted when she was saved. It was Gorrard who held her and helped her start her new life on Beacon. And it’s Gorrard that she’s madly in love with. The grizzled older male is her mate, no matter that he has a few scars and a greying mane. Christmas is the perfect time to tell him about her feelings.

This book was so adorable, just what you need this Christmas season. I love Gorrard even if he was being a dumbass in this book! He’s loyal and brave and a definite silver fox. Holly is a survivor and I loved her determination to seduce the man of her dreams. Often in romance it is the male who is in pursuit, but I liked that it was the woman going for what she wanted.

I’m normally a little wary of age difference romances, the heroine always seems so questionably young. But I liked that in this romance Holly was in her mid to late 20's and Gorrard was…I actually have no idea, but I am guessing around 50. They were cute together and in their different ways were getting a second chance at life. Gorrard after putting his own life on hold for so long to find his people and Holly after being kidnapped from Earth and starting her life again on a new planet.

This was a lovely Christmas story, with plenty of humour, romance and sexy times. If you haven’t read Tracy Lauren before, this is a great taster, however, it is best read as part of the series.

It's ok. Nice change of pure focus on relationship only, very fitting for short story. However, and this is my biased opinion, I didn't like Holly doing all the chasing through all rejections. At some point I was-damn girl, have some pride and backbone. I did understand Gorrards hangouts and reasoning, but in no way it lessened Holly's humiliation, even if she took it like a champ. I also greatly disliked how HEA came to be. It sounded too mutch like Awakening was the only reason Gorrard wanted to be with Holly and she was too mutch of a foort rag to even ask for apology for how she was treated. Dynamics like that are not attractive for me.

3 stars for being easy to read, slightly entertaining and culmination that wasn't another attack.

This was an ok read. Not as christmasy as I was expecting, though the characters in the end do celebrate the holiday and introduce the hero to human traditions. I didn’t love the story very much but mostly because of how stubborn and blind the hero was. The heroine believes she’s being more than obvious in her affections and yet all he sees her as is a young girl and pushes her away. It just bothered me how childlike his behavior was especially when he’s claiming she’s too young. Super quick read, worked for me as a standalone.

Really need to check GR before checking out on Hoopla. But this was short. I said I was done with this series after the last installment. Really am now. This one was sweet and fluffy. Anyone who likes the first couple of stories can skip to this one.

The 3,5 book in the Alien series was more of a short and boring affair. Although the characters were very likeable.

The book is too short for a "will they won't they". The MMC literally goes from one side to the other like a ping-pong ball and in the end he completely changes his opinion for no other reasons than that the book only has 20 pages left and the conflict needs to be resolved. I liked how the FMC was the pursuer though. However sometimes it made me feel a little... icky. She was so pushy. And we as the reader knew the MMC was into her, but he kept rebuking her and she kept ignoring that. Kind of a consent issue.

After the, erm, heavier themes in V's book, Holly and Gorrard's sweet romance was much needed. The biggest stumbling block for these two is Gorrard's steadfast refusal to understand that he's NOT too old for Holly and she wouldn't be "throwing her youth away" if they ended up together.

Admittedly, it took Gorrard a while to see Holly as more than a friend (that's not exactly right...it's more like it took time for him to understand that there was more to their friendship than he was willing to admit to for fear of having it all yanked away from him). There was also the weirdness around his former honey-bunny being 30 years younger than him due to the cryo-sleep stuff and...I was actually kinda weirded out by how chill he was about what went down there. I mean, he was a little grumpy when all was said and done, but he was pretty darn accepting of the fact she didn't tell him a pretty big thing.

On Holly's end, she knew what she wanted and she wanted Gorrard. But she's so low-key that very few people picked up on her interest. Which is one of the reasons Gorrard kept pushing aside his want for her because he thought she was only hanging around because they were friends.

By the by, I have a kind of big soft spot for aliens trying to do human holiday stuff. There's just something so darn charming about their slightly off kilter interpretation of things. Secret Santa! YES!

Seduction, a little danger, a smidge of heartache, and one not-too-old Vendari getting what he wants most for the holidays.

I don’t usually review romance books, but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. I had already completely skipped the previous book in this series because I was getting VERY BAD vibes from the characters and their interactions, and then I read some reviews that confirmed it. I gave this one a go because it was short, but I think this will be the last book I ever read from this author.

In this book the female MC is *aggressively* pursuing the male MC to the point where he gets enraged and screams at her to stop throwing herself at him on multiple occasions. If a man did this, we wouldn’t like it because he’s ignoring her consent and wishes. Why is it okay for a woman to do the same? I suppose it’s meant to be justified by the end of the book where he realizes that he has feelings for her and thanks her for “not giving up on him”. But her “not giving up” was basically sexual harassment.

I gave it 2 stars because it wasn’t ALL bad - they did have some nice moments and it’s heavily implied throughout the whole book that he *does* like her and want her, he’s just getting in his own way because of personal hang ups. But it was still off-putting. And where was her pride? Throwing herself at him over and over again? Not a good look.

I really liked the story because it was not so over-done with the Love/Lust at first sight and pointless sex. It gave the MC and the Heroine time to understand their feelings for each other. And like in real life, sometimes that doesn't happen at the same time.

I found this story super cute with a much older Gentle...Alien ;) and a woman 15 years younger. Of course, the miscommunications and antics of Holly trying to get with Gorrard to be her boo, had me cracking up. Poor clueless Gorrard. But boy when that beast finally did realize...oh baby did he give her what she was asking for.

The narrators did an excellent job this go round and I actually believed the male narrator this time...He is something else. Only 4 stars because it was so short. I enjoyed Alien Gift by Tracy Lauren

A quick return back to the world of TL with her mix of human females and alien males. This book takes a look as Gerard and the human he saved Holly. She's in love with him and he thinks she only feels that because he saved her. Most of the story is these two arguing about their feelings or Holly crying. It got annoying after awhile. What I did enjoy was the humans teaching the aliens about their Christmas traditions and trying to get used to and normalize their new home. The story is a slow burn and the sex is hot. But this but my favorite of the series.

Hunky alien hero, spunky heroine, lots of great supporting characters and Christmas, it was a great mix. Good setting, heat and dialogue, it was easy to get lost in this story. I felt it flowed smoothly and hit all the right romantic beats I look for. Loved this novella and the journey toward their HEA. The world and society the author has created is interesting and will keep you wanting more stories from this planet.

I listened to the audible version of this story and absolutely loved it. It's a fantastic story for anyone looking for a light, funny and steamy paranormal read. Gorrard doesn't believe anyone as beautiful as Holly should spend her life with someone as old as him. However, she is more than happy to change his mind and it's such an enjoyment to listen to. I love that every story is different and I look forward to more books from this author.

Sweet, Quickish Romance

I was looking for a more lighter read and this one fit the bill. I read it as a stand alone and wasn't too lost, but there were a lot of character mentions that have made me curious. Gorrard was kind of a broken record with his too young stuff and Holly did act a little immature and let him get away with too much. But it was a well written read and getting a peek at Gile and Mire make me want to read their story.

The writing is good, but I wasn’t thrilled with the story. The heroine does all the chasing and the guy pushes back so hard. It did not feel good. I wish she would have told him her feelings more directly and then let him decide. He was an idiot and a bit of a douche about everything. But it felt like she didn’t care about his consent but just kept pushing. And all of her friends encouraged this unhealthy behavior.

Another Great Hit

Wow, so many twists and turns in this story but love every moment of it! The book has action, drama, humor, suspense, passion, and hot sexy steamy scenes that are not over the top with awesome characters. A beautiful alien romance and highly recommended series.

I loved this book! It’s the perfect kick off to my holiday romance reading list.

Gorrard, our sexy alien hero, is in his mid forties and feels like the chance for a relationship and family has passed him by. However, our heroine Holly isn’t going to let him wallow in bachelorhood. She loves him and will do whatever it takes to make him see her as more than his friend.

Read this book if you want a sweet and sexy holiday story with an alien twist!

Even Alien Men are sooo Stubborn!

Holly has found the live she has been waiting for, in Tracy Lauren’s aAlien Series novella, book 4, Alien’s Gift.

What a surprise that Gorrard is more worried about ‘saving’ her then treating her like the woman he loves.

Beautiful, action-packed, and sexy, these two have to fight for the love each deserves.

I love this series

Ever since Goddard was introduced in the first book, I've wanted to hear his story. It turned out a lot different than I imagined but it was still great. This was a novella...I wish it wasn't because I wanted more. If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed reading this lovely Christmas novella. Holly is saved from slavery by Gorrard. Gorrard feels some way about Holly while she has an immediate attraction to him but not as a result of him saving and protecting her. Now she just has to convince Gorrard of her feelings when he thinks he's too old for her. Lots of action before the happy ending for them.

Novella for the holidays

Gorrad, is such a stalwart champion that it is about time he got his own story. Holly is determined not to let him martyr himself anymore and she will show him he is just as desirable as a younger man. Really good book
