There are many books on the signs of the zodiac, but this is one of the few devoted exclusively to the planets. The result of over thirty years of practical experience a nd extensive research, this book brings together with unusual depth many approaches to astrological interpretation and explores the planets meaning from the perspectives of Jungian psychology, mythology, and the ancient cultures that gave birth to astrology.
The Planets & Human Behavior explains the roots of planetary symbolism, as well as providing tips on practical interpretation. As a unique feature of this book, Jeff Mayo taps into the neglected richness of traditional astrology and includes the viewpoints of many of modern astrology's pioneers—Margaret Hone, Alan Leo, Marc Edmund Jones, and others.
A primary focus of the book is a strikingly clear examination of the psychological functions denoted by each planet—a large step toward making astrology a well-defined psychological science in its own right.
In 1973, he founded the Mayo School of Astrology, which after his death has operated from Truro, Cornwall. Diploma holders are eligible to apply for membership to the Association of Professional Astrologers International.

Bit of a self own on the last page: "Why should irregular curves and crooked lines be anything at all to do with the Moon? Or, how can all sweet and pungent flavours be associated with the Sun? What's the point, anyway?"
