There's a microchip for that? This is the first work by the creative Jane Suen that I have read, and wow was it a rollercoaster of a place to start. Honestly this book from chapter one had me pondering and completely intrigued. Told from multiple perspectives from start to finish we see the story unravel and the characters evolve.
Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly are all everyday women that have one great desire, be it to stay young, lose weight, find love, or forget the pain of lost love this technothriller takes you on journeys you never knew you needed a peek at. While originally, I was put off by Dr Kite’s introduction, his multi-level price points to make his invention accessible for as many people as possible was a high point. Fake taxicab trolling the city looking for “low risk” people that won’t be missed if gone for a few hours, microchips implanted without their knowledge, and covering up when he finds a defect. Dr Kite is not really a doctor but is a doctor I never knew I needed a look inside his mind. Book one Alterations begins with Gigi on the edge, after her recent upgrade to her chip something is wrong, but what? Book two Game Changer picks up a little over a year after the events of book one, Dr Kite has lost his warehouse, and Ellen soon discovers an alteration to her body, how is it possible? Book three Primal Will picks up in the same moment that book two ends with Tiffany having to make an impossible choice or risk refusing and seeing what happens.
From start to finish the author keeps you engaged, guessing, and intrigued by the plot and how it could possibly come to an end. Is there a happy ending for any of them? Does Dr Kite succeed? How does it all end? While originally confused but intrigued each new chapter, each insight and ultimately each book answered more questions while also adding a few new ones. Seeing how Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly make it to the other side made this a very satisfying Saturday read. I look forward to looking into some of the author’s other works and seeing what mysteries and suspense await me.

The Alterations Trilogy is a thought provoking and interesting read by Jane Suen. I would categorize it a science fiction story that is a little mysterious and suspenseful. It is a very quick, easy read.

The trilogy consists of:
-Alterations (Book #1)
-Game Changer (Book #2)
-Primal Will (Book #3)

An overview of the series:
We meet Ellen, Gigi and Lilly who are all desperate to change aspects of themselves, in the hope of finding happiness. This is where Dr. Kite offers a procedure that he assures them will change their life. The procedure involves having an implant imbedded into them; the implant then controls their mind and alters them from the inside out. Will Ellen lose the weight she’s so desperate to rid herself of, find the self-respect she’s after and get a little romance in the process? Will Gigi find the true love she been yearning for? And can Lilly finally cast aside all the bitterness she harbours from her nasty divorce?
An implant sound like such a simple way of fixing a multitude of problems. Could it really be that easy? Is there a catch? As we progress through the story and follow the women and Dr. Kite through their experiences we discover that there is a little more to the story than first meets the eye. With unforeseen issues, a couple of faulty chips, plots, and hidden agendas this trilogy kept me avidly reading to discover all the suspenseful and dramatic details.
This was an interesting concept and gave me a lot to think about. The plot is quite complex and even with each book being a very quick and easy read, the story never lost momentum, but I would have liked a little more depth and character details/backstory- especially in the first book. But as the series progressed and the story evolved, I did enjoy it much more.
I look forward to seeing what Ms. Suen does next.

Thank you, Ms. Suen!

Intriguing, suspenseful and interesting sci fi trilogy that was quite enjoyable. This is a perfect box set and the books are meant to be read as a series and definitely not a stand alone.

This series of events from the books has Dr. Kite offering an implant to help and where we meet
Gigi, Lilly and Ellen. This implants alters/changes they way they see them-self. Ellen is trying desperately to lose weight and feel good about herself, Gigi is looking for love and Lilly trying to get through her feelings from a divorce. With Dr. Kite's game changing offer....will this help Ellen, Lilly and Gigi....until he finds out there is some defects in the microchips...

As the story continues in book 2, the ladies try and move on with their life, making sense of it all. You get more from Lilly, Gigi and Ellen as they navigate their next steps.....what is Dr. Kite up to next.....and the epic conclusion in book 3 find out what happens to the end......definitely a roller coaster ride of twists and turns .........

Great trilogy and highly recommended!

This really was a trilogy of thought provoking sci-fi thrillers, which kept me gripped throughout. I loved having all three books in one collection as I could then ‘binge read’ the series! The intriguing storyline follows Gigi, Ellen and Lilly who all want to change their lives in some way and so take the drastic decision to go to Dr Kite. He has developed a mind controlling chip which the three women agree to have implanted, however although this gives them an easy and quick fix it comes with consequences. Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly were prepared to risk everything for love, health, and happiness, and Dr Kite’s novel chip implant offers them a mind controlling solution.
However, Dr Kite is a secretive figure and when the city is plunged into chaos by unforeseen issues his warehouse is destroyed. It is then discovered that two of the implanted chips are defective and suddenly his plans go horribly wrong. In the aftermath of the disaster one of the woman seeks revenge for Dr Kite’s failings, but she may also have found an opportunity to save herself. I was hooked from start to finish by this original story, and was kept happily turning the pages to find out if Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly get their happily ever after. The characters and the setting were brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative and I was fully immersed in the story.

This trilogy is a MUST read. Each book is about 100 pages so you can rip through the whole trilogy in no time at all. I wish I was able to read them as a boxed set, so congrats on one clicking this.

There is so much to say about the amazingness of this series. The quick, information filled chapters. The visualization from the writing. The believability of the desired situations. It was fascinating to read.

Every letter, every word, every paragraph and every character moved this story along. It was told in such a minimalistic style yet is so full bodied. I felt it had an important moral and I was pleased with how it ended.

This is in my top 3 trilogies that I've read. I 100% recommend it to everyone.

This book was definitely a trip and a half. I would 100% classify it as a psychological thriller, and every page had me guessing as to what would happen next. I did like the book, but as someone who isn't much of a PT reader, it wasn't as much as my speed as I was expecting. If you're someone who enjoys sci-fi and psychological thrillers, then I think you'll like this book.

Alterations Book #1

“Oh, God no. What have I done?” ~Dr. Kite

“If only, this time, they could control the mind. The body they could now fix-not just for cosmetic reasons, but to cure people who were ill like Gigi, destroying the defective cells and replacing them with healthy ones. Once he perfected this microchip, he would have riches beyond imagination. How many people? Millions, no billions. Why, he’d even offer different grades of this microchip to make it more affordable. He could almost hear the people clamoring for it.” ~Dr. Kite

Wow this was such a good read. It had a lot of good material packed in a short punch and I loved it. It really made me think, kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next, and even had me yelling at my kindle a few times. I have really expanded my reading genera’s this last year to include more of the futuristic and dystopian novels that I would have normally never picked up, and I must confess I am so very happy that I have. Jane Suen is one author in this area that never lets me down. She writes with such a beautiful flow and imagination that I can completely see this happening right now and it being completely for seeable. I love that about her novels and this one was no different.

First off, we meet Gigi, right as she is about to make a very rash and permanent decision, when suddenly Dr. Kite’s men step in and thankfully save her from herself. Or do they? Throughout the novel she tries to figure out what happened to her that day. What will happen when she links it all back to the decision she made to save her life and heal her body years ago from a disease that was killing her spirit and as much as her health?

“We gave you perfection, how could you not want that? No disease, no malfunctioning organs, every cell optimized and in perfect working order.”

Next, we meet Lilly Cooper, bitter and angry after her recent divorce. She is struggling to come to terms with living life and battling her demons at the same time. Will the doctor be able to help her or will it be worth the risks involved?

“She wondered, was is a display of her chip gone bad, or did it become an instrument to release her deepest desire, her dark evil within?” ~Lilly

Ellen Fullbright has spent her entire life being the butt of all the bullies jokes and teasing. She just wants to fit into her size six dress for her cousin’s upcoming wedding, but she has hit that plateau and is feeling hopeless when she stumbles upon and alterations shop that promises her a permanent fix if she follows the directions on a little white card. Will she be able to follow through?

Game Changer Book #2

I can’t honestly say enough good things about this book, but I will try to narrow it down a bit for this review. I can see this whole series as a movie. I would wait with baited breath for each episode. It is a gripping experience, with emotional, suspenseful, mysteries and so much more. Game Changer is actually the second book in the Alterations Trilogy from Jane Suen. I had no idea that there was going to be another book, so was thrilled when I found out there is another after this one. I would highly recommend that you go back and start with book one before you dive into this one. Actually… maybe not read this review from here because it will spoil it…

If you read book one… This one picks up exactly…”One year, three months and two days after the fire destroyed Dr. Kite’s warehouse.” The fire is where book one left off. From here the story delves into the lives of the women that were in book one and Dr. Kite. It is written in a format where you get little glimpses, stories about where each character is at, and what they are doing, since the fire destroyed everything that Dr. Kite had on the chips that he implanted in the women.

We find out Dr. Kite is not doing so hot after the fire. He has kind of given up on life since his main project, which was his baby, has been destroyed. He moved away and is still in a funk. I want to like him though, not sure why? There was a feeling as if it was building into something with his character but then left off… Maybe a twist there?

“He looked at his rumpled pants, still full of creases from the day before, and the worn brown belt with the dull buckle at his waist, his crinkled, blue cotton shirt barely tucked in. Disgusted with himself, he quietly retreated, cursing his appearance, wishing he could change her first impression of him.”

Ellen is blown away when her pregnancy test came back positive. She actually finds herself good at being a single mom. She will stop at nothing to give her daughter the best life she possibly can. Her story also ended with an odd question or two in mind… Another twist coming?

“Thoughts swirled in her head. How can this be? Me, a mother? I lost weight, but I’m gaining something else- a baby!”

Then we have Gigi, I really enjoy her. She is discovering how amazing it is to be in true love and I was happy to see that she was having some peace. Her story was pretty open-ended so I could see where there will be more of her in the next novel.

“As she rounded the corner, Rex came into view, dressed in a plaid shirt, jeans, and work gloves. Her heart raced as she laid her eyes on him. Her man.”

Lilly, last but not least, is throwing herself into a new phase in her life. She has been training women for no one knows exactly, but I didn’t get a good vibe from the situation. Definitely did not get the full answers to my burning questions.

“She stood in the middle of the circle, surrounded by women. Pivoting slowly, Lilly looked around, locking eyes with each in a silent greeting. Altogether, an even dozen. An exclusive group.”

As these stories unfold you find them culminating into a lot of questions. What will come next? What will happen to each of them? Does all their separate lives have any ties other than their history with the chip? I can’t believe that this would be easy to end in just one more book, but bring it on Jane Suen. I will be impatiently waiting over here.

Primal Will Book #3

I am so sad to see this trilogy come to an end. It is bittersweet because I was excited to find out how this would all come together, yet I didn’t want it to end. I can only hope that the ‘loose ends’ that Suen left us with will mean a potential spin-off series in the near future. When I first discovered Jane Suen I was looking for something different at the time from my typical romance happy ending storylines. I got so much more than I was even expecting then, and Suen has continued to reel me in and bring me back for more. I love that nothing from her is typical or expected. Definitely not predictable, and that makes for some great reading material! I chose to read this novel on a cool and rainy day under the covers with some hot tea, and it was the perfect way to spend my afternoon.

Given that this is the third book in a trilogy, I would highly recommend that you read books one, Alterations. Followed by book two, Game Changer. I would do so before you read this one, and this review. Inevitably there will be spoilers from previous novels, but I will do my best to keep them minimal.

This trilogy has been centered on three women and the man that links them all together with his ‘mad science’. This will pick up right where we left off in Game Changer. The women are coming full circle now and this is kind of an update as to where the characters are. Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly are finding where they belong in this world. Dr. Kite is along for the ride as well and we get more of the multiple POV’s which enriches the story. This is a fast and short read, mostly tying up the loose ends if you will from the previous two books. I was left hanging with a few questions, but like I said, I can only hope that means that a spin-off series is in the works or could be in the works. Overall, I was really happy with how the trilogy played out. I enjoyed the themes of self-discovery, dystopian worlds, romance, and so much more being woven throughout each novel. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Jane Suen!!

Alterations Trilogy

Alterations
By Jane Suen

Definitely a five star read, I recommend this book to all.

So you are offered a microchip that can either reduce your weight, give you a new body and mind or cure your illness, would you do it?

Ellen needs to lose thirty pounds to fit into a dress for a wedding. She sees a shop called Alterations but quickly finds out it's a body alteration shop not dress. Picking her size she now has an appointment with Dr Kite. She's so happy after the microchip has been placed in her to see the thirty pounds gone. But is given a reminder to pay before the trial ends.

Lilly is an angry person after her divorce and meets Dr Kite at a restaurant where he gives her his card to call if she ever wants to. Dr Kite knows she will benefit with a body and mind change and is happy when she calls. The night she gets the microchip Gary is sent to get her and take her home. Tonight changes everything for Lilly and Gary is found on the footpath not breathing.

Gigi is given a microchip that has fixed her illness. All is going well until she does something out if the ordinary and gets hurt. Dr Kites men have found her, taken her back to the clinic to be fixed and now she's woken up confused in a hotel lobby.

In the meantime Dr Kite receives a message that two of the three latest micro chips are defective and he has no idea which two they are.

Game Changer (Alterations Trilogy Book 2)
By Jane Suen

Game Changer is the second book in the Alterations Trilogy. I would really suggest that book one be read first as you really need to get the background on the characters in the book. I wasn’t surprised that I also enjoyed this book and to be honest if I was asked if I enjoyed book one or two the most, there is no way I could pick between them both, they are as good as each other. Game Changer for me follows quite nicely on from Alterations and we follow the same characters Lilly, Ellen and Gigi, and not forgetting Dr Kite. As with Janes other books this one is just as easy to follow and good luck in putting the book down once you start reading it, yes, it’s that good.

Primal Will (Alterations Trilogy Book 3)
By Jane Suen

Primal Will is book three in the Alteration series by Jane Suen. I would highly recommend that this series is read in order as you really need to get a back-ground history of the characters. This has been an amazing trilogy to read, so this is a must read for all. The whole the trilogy can be read in no time at all, its also an easy read and enjoyable. It has been a pleasure to both read and review this trilogy series. Like I said please read this series in order, so start with Alterations (book 1), Game Changer (book 2), and of course lastly Primal Will. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I have.

This is an amazing series. It is a sci fi Thriller which I was completely invested in. The author's writing is captivating and kept me engaged from beginning to end.

The first book is Alterations and it follows the story of 3 women and a scientist/doctor. Doctor Kite has found a way to control these women using microchips in their bodies. 1 helps a woman to heal, 1 helps a woman to lose and maintain her weight and the 3rd helps a women overcome the stress of the divorcee. But what happens when these micro chips malfunction? What is the consequences of allowing a foreign object into your body to control an area of your life? Will these Microchips become the most amazing creation ever discovered or will the side effects and consequences when something goes wrong out weight the positives.

Book 2 is called Game Changer. We are back with Gigi, Lilly and Ellen and Dr Kite. All of there lives have moved forward and the women seem to be making their own path in life. Gigi has finally found love with her flatmate but will it last or will something find a way of coming between them? Ellen has finally lost the weight she wanted and she's done it on her own. Now she's a single mum after her one night stand with Brad but life's great she's changed career and is happy. But what happens when Brad reappears in her life?
Lilly can't forgive Dr Kite for what he did to her and with her hatred for men stronger than ever no one is safe from her attempts to get revenge.
And finally we have Dr Kite. After his warehouse burned down he left town and moved somewhere no one knows him. After a while of self pity he meets a woman called Tiffany. Could she be the woman to bring him happiness? Is she all that she seems? And what happens when the Dr decides to play god again with his microchips?

The final book is called Primal Will. This book is just as captivating as the first too. It is fast paced and the twist and turns keep you guessing. As this is the final book we get the answers of what happens with all our characters. Do they get their happy endings? Do they things they thought would make them happy turn out to have the opposite effect? Is Lily pushing because of a need for revenge or is she seeing a business opportunity? And what happens with the man who started all this madness Dr Kite. Is he allowed his happy ending? Is he a good man who thought he was doing something good? Or is he a man who wants to manipulate and control people?

These books have been amazing to read
I loved everyone of them.

Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen contains the three books Alterations, Game Changer, and Primal Will. So glad this came out in a set. I have recommended in the past to read the books in order because they pick up after each other. This is a creepy sci-fi dystopian set of novels dealing with our need to improve ourselves.
Alterations: Alterations by Jane Suen is a futuristic, psychological thriller. The story is about three women who get an implant put in them to help them with different aspects of their lives. The story is interesting and different from other stories I have read. I enjoyed the three different female characters and the differences between them. They all had relatable aspects and problems that many women deal with daily. The doctor helping them seemed interesting also despite not being in the story much. I really enjoyed the concept and the story. I would have enjoyed a longer book with more background and information about the characters. There seemed more that could have been explored. I hope to read more from this author in the future and will keep an eye out for her books.
Game Changer
Game Changer by Jane Suen is the second book in the Alterations series. I recommend reading the first book first in order to get the full impact of what is going on in the story. This book picks up after the first and continues the stories of the nefarious Dr. Kite and the three women whose lives he changed. I enjoyed getting more in the story of Gigi, Lilly, and Ellen. I continued to hope the best for the women and that they would recover from their experiences with Dr. Kite. This book is again full of suspense and mystery. I wanted to know where the story was going and am curious as to where the last book in the trilogy will take their experiences.
Primal Will
Primal Will by Jane Suen is the third and final book in the Alterations series. The conclusion of the story did not let me down. I recommend reading these in order because one story flows to the next. I was really curious as to how Gigi, Lilly, and Ellen would handle their experiences of being subjects of Dr. Kite. Each of the women had a different experience but still had after effects to handle. Dr. Kite is on the run. Will the women allow Kite to run and hide? I like that each of the women are different from one another but with this common thread in their lives. They are strong and a bit fierce. I'm glad to have read the entire series and go on this adventure.

ALTERATIONS TRILOGY: Alterations, Game Changer, Primal Will by Jane Suen

5 Stars

I have now read every one of this authors books and I will also read every book she comes out with. She is one of those authors that you never know what might be instore for you when you open one of her books, she is never predictable and I sit afterwards always pondering what I just read. She has a talent that has her in a class of her own and I just can't say enough about how much I love her. This trilogy is simply awesome..totally different than anything I have every read and each one of them had me totally breaking from real life and I was totally invested in these characters…

Alterations - This is about three women, each with a different issue in life. This is also about one man, “Dr.” Kite, who set out on a mission to help these three women with their life issues by offering them an answer using an implant that can control their minds. Although short, the author fit in enough backstory for each character that I was able to understand and fall in love with each one. It brought up questions in my own mind, if I could pick the one issue in life I struggle with would I take the same risks these three women took? Especially knowing that when something seems too good to be true, it could be just that..too good to be true….

Game Changer - This story carried on from the first, the 3 ladies that Dr. Kite “helped” have now started moving on with their lives, and each one dealing with their own good and bad. Dr. Kite is again up to something, and I loved reading his parts of this story.. I don't know why he fascinates me so much but he does...Would I trust him if he showed up at my door? Ehhh, maybe to an extent.

Primal Will - This last installment had me reading so fast I caught myself tripping over the words and making myself slow down so that I could savor every second of it. What an amazing storyline from start to finish, so creative and addictive and I can not wait to go back and read the whole series all over again. Not going to go into anymore detail because it will take away from all 3 books..

Ok Miss Jane Suen, I've read all of your books, and I want more...You are an amazing story teller and I can not wait to see where you take us next!! But rest assured I'll be one of the first in line to find out!

Brilliant!!

ALTERATIONS TRILOGY: Alterations, Game Changer, Primal Will by Jane Suen is a solid psychological thriller collection, that has a sci-fi look at that quick fix, and how if it's too good to be true.. then...

I'm so happy this was released as a box set, as each book is fairly short, together making this a full read. That and, you don't have to wait for the next book to be released. As this is a box set I'm going to just give some highlights of my reviews, from each book.

Alterations: "What made me hooked on this story was the mystery that started with Gigi, even though I knew what was going on, her roommate didn't. So that was a fun subplot. Out of the three Ladies, Lilly was my favourite. She didn't have much screen time, but the bit that she did made me wish she had more, and that there was more to it. She brought something crazy, and dangerous."

Game Changer: "I have a slight feeling that something isn't quite right with the girls, there are multi hints dropped and suggestive word play that makes you think everything is going to hit the fan in the next book. If I'm right, or partly right, I think the next book is going to be freaking epic."

Primal Will: "Overall I loved this series, it had like I said, a dark grittiness to it that draws you in. The split POV between all the main MC's, made you feel like a fly on the wall, but at the same time, you weren't getting everything. Just glimpse of their lives, who they are, and why they needed to be "fixed" in the first place. There is a clear message, nothing is ever a quick fix, you need to want to change and put to work. The mind is a funny thing, Dr. Kite finds that out the hard way".

I don't believe I need to say anymore, only that this series is worth your time and energy. There's a deepness to it, because all these girls, and the things they wanted "fix" are things, that at one point, we as humans, have wanted fixed. So what would do? Having that quick fix at your fingertips..

If this has piped your interest, in any way, then this is where I'm going to leave you, with my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval. This collection is something special, and I believe it will spark, the what if's in your own mind.. to the point of going down the rabbit hole.

Happy Reading

Alterations Trilogy Set
By Jane Suen
4 stars

This trilogy includes the three books Alteration, Game Changer and Primal Will.

Alterations
I loved this book! It was a nice break from my usual romance genres. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it in all honesty but the blurb really intrigued me and it didn’t take long to be completely sucked into it! I still can’t decide if I should like Dr Kite or not?? Half of me did and the other half was thinking what a psycho! Although if someone wanted to implant one of those weight-loss chips in me that I think I might consider it!! It is a fast paced book and the writing style of the author reflected this well in my opinion. It does jump about between characters but it’s all tied up during the later stages of the story. I found it easy to keep up with and I think it would have made a really good full length novel too!

Game Changer

I loved book 1 in this series, it was so different to anything I had read so I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved that each chapter again was short and to the point and that we got to see how each character was getting on. I had a feeling that there were going to be a few twists and turns in the story and I was right! I had no idea what was going to happen and the author kept me guessing the whole way through. The author’s unique writing style is really engaging, you don’t get bored with long chapters, everything moves at a good pace and my interest was kept all the way through. I love the girls in the story and enjoyed reading about their lives after the implants but the character who I love reading about the most is Dr Kite! His chapters are the shortest but he is the most intriguing!

Primal Will

I couldn’t wait to begin book 3 just to find out what was going to happen with Dr Kite! Throughout all of the stories he is the one I have been most intrigued with – is he trying to do good or is he actually manipulative and evil? I think that he is one of those characters where you kind of have to make up your own mind about him. I will say that I did see a slight different side to him in this story and I think that everything came full circle for all of the characters involved. It was a brilliant ending to this trilogy.

Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen is a collection of the books Alterations, Game Changer, and Primal Will. They must be read together, in order, to get the complete story. It is kinda sci-fi, Divergent style story, of mind altering technology. Just reading the synopsis drew me in, and I was dying to read it. However, I had a hard time following it at first. There were a lot of characters, that it bounced around between, and I had difficulty keeping their stories straight. It wasn't until half way through the book I understood they weren't all going to meet, but rather, had 1 character in common. The series follows 3 women after being implanted with a mind controlling chip from Dr Kite. The chip changes their lives, each in a unique way. The procedure seems like a fix all, but things do all go as planned. Read the whole collection to learn these ladies stories, and see if they get their happily ever after.
I read each story on its own, but in order. I love that the collection is together, because they pick up right where the previous story left off. These books are really 3 parts to the same story and is one you don't want to put down. The stories alternate between the views of the characters. Primal Will pulled all the stories together, letting us see how they all intertwine. The series didn't end the way I hoped, or expected, but I enjoyed them. I was anticipating a huge twist at the end, and didn't get that. The books are quite short, but move quickly and are filled with raw content, without much filler. I love that, because it is a good story, that can be enjoyed quickly. I often loose interest in long drawn out series. 4 star book for me.

The Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen tells the story of a scientist, the so-called “Dr” Kite, who has developed a series of microchips that can alter people’s bodies and minds. The trilogy focuses primarily on three women – Gigi, Ellen and Lilly. Each of them has something about themselves that they would like to change, and Dr Kite offers this change. Like most wish-granting stories, though, there is a cost and each woman must face the consequences of her decision.
It’s a fascinating story, and very thought-provoking. It got me wondering about what I would most want to change about myself, and how far I’d go to achieve that. It also made me think about the things we value, particularly with regards to physical beauty, and the shortcuts people are encouraged to take to achieve these often unrealistic ideals.
The narrative jumps between several different characters. Character changes are heralded with new chapters, but sometimes the chapters can be quite short. I found it mostly easy to follow, and the character changes kept me in suspense as the different stories unfolded.
At times, I felt the pacing wasn’t great. The second book in particular seemed to primarily be spent building up to the third book – no bad thing when reading the trilogy as a set but not great if you’re trying to read the books separately. I would recommend reading all three together, as it allows the story to develop.
For me, this is a four-star read. Really interesting concept, and I found myself warming to the characters (particularly Ellen, as the story progressed!). I’d recommend this to anyone who is concerned about drastic weight-loss and anti-ageing solutions!

Prepare for a thrilling ride with this series that will keep you thinking about the possibilities for many nights to come.
A med school drop out and brilliant engineer unlocks the secrets of human cellular structure and can implant a chip to cure chronic debilitating disease, help you lose and maintain the perfect body weight or become youthful and beautiful all over again. Would you take the plunge? Sounds too good to be true right? What could possibly go wrong.
Whelp... possibly everything. Meet 3 women who all chose their chip for different reasons , and the mysterious Dr Kite. Watch as these chips all get implanted only to find out two have a dangerous defective flaw that causes utter chaos and absolute devestation for the rising doctor who was so close to perfecting mind control with his chips.
After nearly losing everything you follow Dr Kite in book 2 who is in the depths of despair and the 3 women trying to move on with their lives, but someone hasnt let that night of destruction go and the threads that tie the entire story and all 4 lives together are about to come together in an ending you didnt see coming....Dr Kite still has two chips left and hes got his eyes set on a young girl struggling to survive...or is she???
I literally yelled "What?!?!?" Out loud at 1130 at night in the final section of this trilogy.
This is a very fast paced book, you have to enjoy quick plot development and many POV changes to truly enjoy this series as otherwise it may be too abrupt for some. I felt it was Brilliant!

Jane Suen's Alterations Trilogy includes: Alterations, Game Changer and Primal Will. This is a science fiction/fantasy/psychological series. I found this trilogy unique and quite enjoyed how Jane Suen tied this series together. There is a lot for three characters, each with their own stories, to be compiled into this short stories. We get a glimpse into their stories, but there was the potential for much more to be added and/or expanded into with each of the individual women.

Alterations:
This is a story that will push your concept of what is possible and real versus what could be possible beyond our imaginations. This is about three women who are seeking change, but what they are seeking may not ultimately be what they receive. This was the first written work that I had read by Jane Suen and I was absolutely intrigued after reading the synopsis for this story.

Game Changer:
This story pushes your concept of what is possible and real versus what could be possible beyond our imaginations. These women are seeking change and building new lives.

Primal Will:
The author did an fine job in bringing a conclusion to this trilogy edging the line on what to expect and what could possible be forthcoming. Overall, I thought this was a solid story to delve into a unique story line with women from different walks of life each looking for a change that will make their lives better.

I give ALTERATIONS TRILOGY: Alterations, Game Changer, Primal Will by Jane Suen, 5 stars.

This is a great collection! I would call it science fiction, but it could very easy become reality. It tells the story of Dr. Kite and a microchip that he invented that has mind control capabilities. But it is not approved yet and he needs test subjects. He gets those subjects, sometimes not in the most ethical ways. Three women have the implant inserted, all for different reasons. This trilogy is how their lives are affected by the implants. Remember the old saying, be careful what you wish for? Is this true or will they find happily ever after? And what about Dr. Kite? Will he become famous or will his invention come back to haunt him?

This was such an enjoyable series. It was like nothing I have ever read before and I enjoyed seeing just what each woman and the doctor himself went through throughout the course of this trilogy. Each book is about a different stage of their lives, and therefore makes each one different, yet still part of the whole picture. Very well written, the characters seem quite real, this could happen to someone you know. That's probably the scariest thing! The story gets you right away and I could not put it down until I was done.

I highly recommend this trilogy to those who like science fiction and just what happens when you try to bend the laws of nature.

This contains all three books in the sci-fi thriller Alterations trilogy. The trilogy follows Gigi, Ellen and Lilly in the aftermath of the implantation of a mind-control chip to alter something about themselves.
The premise of the storyline was great, I was intrigued and was hooked wanting to see the 3 face the consequences of the chip and whether they would achieve their happily ever afters. The idea behind the chips and how far people would go to change things about themselves was interesting to me.
I do think reading the trilogy in this set is the best way to go about it as there were moments (particularly within the second book) which slowed down considerably. I don’t think this was a problem when reading it all together, but don’t think this would have the same impact if reading separately.
The author was descriptive, paining vivid imagery of scenes and characters allowing you to step into the story. The writing flowed well, but there were frequent point of view changes. This wasn’t an issue for me as I quite enjoyed seeing things from multiple perspectives and getting to know the characters more, but it is not for everyone.
Overall I enjoyed this trilogy, it had a brilliant premise and was engaging and thought-provoking. My main issue would be the pacing previously mentioned, but as a whole this doesn’t detract from my enjoyment reading these books.

Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen
Five Stars

Alterations, Game Changer and Primal Will are the three books featured in the Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen. This trilogy must be read in order to understand what is going on. Alterations starts with three women who want a quick fix to their problem, but the fix comes with side effects. Sometimes we should be careful of what we wish for. I love how Ms. Suen packs so much drama and suspense into each hundred page installment. Game Changer has a little bit of everything, suspense, mystery, action and romance. Dr. Kite makes a great villain and I keep wondering what he will think up next. The women are strong, Ellen, GiGi and Lily have changed their lives and started on the next part finding what they need to survive, Love success, revenge. The final story, Primal Will features Ellen, Gigi, Lilly and Dr. Kite. In this installment you will find out if these women finally find their Happily Ever After or even closure. You will also have insight into how Dr. Kite’s mind works. I have to say this is one of my favorite trilogies that I have read. If you are looking for intrigue and suspense this is the series you should read.

ALTERATIONS TRILOGY: Alterations, Game Changer, Primal Will by Jane Suen are a Sci Fi trilogy that are quick and easy reads.

Alterations is an interesting short tale and is full of suspense and mystery. The story is told in multiple POV’s which gives us the readers a better understanding of what the characters think, why they do what they do. Like our good doctor, Dr Kite. Is he a genius or is he Dr Frankenstein? Is he clever or is he crazy? And just what is he doing to people?

Game Changer: Book 2 holds you from start to finish. This book carries on in the same vein but has an under current of mystery and feels a tad sinister and I expect everything that is coming will end in an explosive way.

Primal Will: Book 3 is the last book in the trilogy and one that pulls a punch. Jane's writing style and her plots keep you engaged every step of the way. Dr Kite is in the forefront of the story once again but is he still evil or will he trade it in a become Mr Nice? To find out you will just have to read this trilogy.

Alterations Trilogy Box Set
Alterations 1
Game Changer 2
Primal Will 3
3 Book Series
By Jane Suen
☆☆☆☆☆
Full series in this Sci Fi trilogy. Life changing experiences will be found in all three of these books. While we're at it, let's throw in some suspense.

Lilly, Gigi and Ellen are all looking to improve their lives. But with everything, it comes with a price. Love, happiness, and health, not too much to ask for. Nothing comes easy, but the fight could be worth everything. Bring in the man with all the answers, or mind controlled chips. Mr.
Kite has what they are looking for. But what does he want I return?

Jane Suen series is quick and easy to read. Great when you have time that needs filled in. But you want to finish the book. Each book is loaded with mystery and intrigue. I loved each book in this series. They filled all my feels, laughter, tears and anger. Jane Suen was a new author for me. But after this series, I keep an eye out for anything she writes. I feel you will love this series as much as I did.

This trilogy is easy to read in one or two setting. Each book in this series is around 100 pages or so.

This book is interesting, creepy, and downright scary at times with the options available to people these days. While this is a work of science fiction, it could easily become a reality, if it hasn't already.

Three women, all with differing sorts of body image issues, submit to Dr. Kite and his experimental microchips. Each chip is designed to "fix" the image issue that the person is facing. In Alterations, the focus is on the change that takes place within each of these three. Game Changer is about a life changing experience for each of them and Primal Will is their resolve to get away from the chip itself.

These stories are situations that are very real to many people and the resulting experiment proves that science is a good answer but not always the right one!!

This author is very quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I've read a few of her books now and she doesn't disappoint!! She writes excellent books with a psychokiller thriller slant!

Alterations Trilogy: Alterations, Game Changer, Primal Will by Jane Suen
Four Stars

This trilogy is about making the changes to yourself that you find bad. You have a chance to be better than you ever thought. To take those imperfections and make them perfect or disappear. Dr. Kite isn’t right in the head. He wants to make everyone perfect. This series was a little scary. Not the jump out the closet as a clown scary but as in this could actually be happening. You get a glimpse if all three women throughout each book. Their lives are forever changed so in good ways others not so good. Dr. Kite seemed to not comprehend the effects that the chip had on his subjects. Overall the series was a interesting read. The author draws you in with the unknown. Though I would’ve liked to go deeper into the details about each character. It was hard for me to get to know each of the characters because the chapters jumped around.

I am glad that these books came in a set. They are definitely not meant to be read as standalones. The Alterations stories are imaginative and unusual. While I did find the premise of the trilogy intriguing, I had a challenge connecting with some of the characters. There were also some parts of the story that were a bit fuzzy and left me with questions. I think I enjoyed Ellen’s part of the story the most, and the latter part of Gigi’s story. Lilly was by far the main character that I couldn’t seem to get into. Overall, a good read.

Alterations-introduces you to the main characters (Gigi, Ellen, Lilly, Dr. Kite) and sets the foundation for the other two books.

Game Changer-After a disaster, Dr. Kite’s life takes an unexpected turn. The women are getting on with their lives as best they can.

Primal Will-Revelations and decisions are made that will have lasting effects on everyone.

This was an amazing trilogy, I absolutely loved everything about it. It was very easy to read, and I was able to read it very fast but that didn’t not take away on how captivating this book was. These books had a twist that I was not expecting it was creepy, scary, suspenseful, dystopian, sci-fi series and really makes you feel like it could almost be talking about us right now in the present. In this trilogy there are three women, with body image issues, that like everyone now what the quick fixes and go see Dr. Kite to fix these issues they are each facing. The books kept me on this roller coaster of a ride on what these women were going thou and how they were going to deal with their individual situations. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t out this book down. I would suggest not to read this out of order thou, each book continues on from the previous one. But this was an amazing captivating read.

This Trilogy by Jane Suen is a fast pace read. I want to be upfront because you may not put it down until you have read all three books. Jane Suen is an amazing author that interweaves her characters that will make your head spin. These stories are about three women, Gigi, Ellen, and Lily and Dr. Kite. There are different stories for each woman but have one story with Dr. Kite that keep your interest peaked. There is so much passion and love put into the women that you can relate to them and become part of their world. On the other hand, Dr. Kite has been through many trials and tribulations. The women will have questions that will need to be answered by Dr. Kite. When does that happen will they have love and a future to look forward to?

The Alterations Trilogy is a must read! It is a short read since the entire trilogy took me about 4 hours in total. It revolves around the story of three women who have been implanted with a mind control microchips. One of the chip malfunctions and causing one of the women to attempt killing herself. It turns out that 2 out of the 3 chips are faulty. The book alternates chapters between Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly, as well as other supporting characters. All their stories are very different, but they all tie together nicely at the end of each book. The number of twists and turns and connections between the women kept me reading to the very end. You will be on the edge of your seat with the Alterations Trilogy.
