Swing alongside Spider-Man as he travels through Europe! Whether he's riding in a gondola through the Venice canals or breaking out all his best moves to get a reaction from the Queen's Guard in London, Spider-Man is determined to have the best vacation ever.
Full of vibrant and hilarious original art, this picture book shows off the various European locations seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home, and is told from Peter Parker's unique point of view.
Perfect for curious young readers who love Super Heroes, the book also has hidden characters and details from Spidey's world. You never know what-or who-you might find!
Calliope Glass is an editor and the writer of several popular titles for licenses like Star Wars, Marvel, and the Disney Princesses. She lives in New York City with her family.
Really fun book - love the retro art feel. It is amazing how many incarnations of SM there are now; just goes to show you how popular he has become since 1962. I predict that the 'Spider-Verse' is just going to keep expanding - when I talk to people just starting to read SH comics he is always the first name I hear.
If you know me you know I love traveling, books, and coffee. But did you know I love maps?!? I LOVE MAPS!! Ever since I can remember I would spend hours looking at maps. Real or imagined, I love them all. I especially love the maps in this book. They show all the cities the kids go to and I love the tiny illustrations for every country and state back in the US.
The details to each picture are just amazing. If you look at the monitor the TSA agent is suppose to be looking at, you can see Peter's Spiderman outfit.
You can also find Nick Fury in almost every page. Here he is swimming with scuba gear by the yellow building. There is a man with a mustache looking at him.
This book was so interesting and the illustrations made it fun to look at.
It's also full of facts for every city they visited.
Only my best friend, Ned, knows I'm Spider-Man. We take a ride in a gondola together. In Venice, they have canals instead of streets...and boats instead of cars!
Later, I visit St. Mark's Square. This place has more pigeons than Central Park, and my friend MJ says the church is over one thousand years old!
I love the maps but I also appreciate the facts and how beautiful the pictures are. I bought this book for my godson but I'm thinking of getting a copy for myself. It has all the things I love. Like traveling, maps, and ice cream.
This time Spider-Man goes on a trip, through Europe!!!
The second Spiderman picture book I got and I am hyped! First I want to mention the amazing cover! It is so fun and I love how it matches with the other book in the series (see review here).
In this delightful book Peter Parker aka Spiderman is on a school trip to Europe! And yes, 3 cities in Europe, what kind of school is Peter going to that they can afford to visit all these places? Haha, I mean, give me that school. Because I didn’t even leave my country with my school. XD I love that the first stop is Venice, which is the city of my dreams and also one I went to on my honeymoon (yes, my husband is amazing). I loved loved loved seeing all those beautiful landmarks again and wish I could go back to Venice, hopefully when Corona is over. Next up is Prague, which is still high on my list to visit, again, hopefully when Corona is over I can go. So I was absolutely delighted to see various sites along with Peter. Then lastly it is London, and OH BOY, I want to go there. Sadly, not going to happen given Brexit. One, no passport (just got an ID card) and two, just too much hassle. But seeing Peter stroll through London reminded me of the birthday present my hubby gave me, a few days in London! Though we didn’t get to see the Big Ben like Peter does. Sadly, it was apparently being repaired/fixed/restored. But this way I could still enjoy it! Thanks Spiderman!
I had a laugh that Peter was just walking around as Spiderman. And that no one was that impressed by it amazed me. I would totally fangirl if I saw Spiderman. XD
Also did I spy it right? Is that Nick Fury lurking around and checking Spiderman? Haha, I loved it and had fun finding the guy.
Oh, and I adore that my country, on the big map, was all flowers! Tulips even. So true!
The illustrations were once again amazing and I just love love the style.
All in all, a wonderful trip with Spiderman and I am glad I could be part, I would highly recommend this book to all. And please make more of them!
Based on the movie Spiderman: Far from Home, Spiderman goes on a school trip to Europe. They travel to three cities, Venice, Italy, visiting St. Mark's Square and the Rialta Bridge and take time out for gelato. Next, they visit Prague in the Czech Republic and take in the Astronomical Clock, the opera, and the festival of Lights. London is the final European destination, stopping off to see Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and its guards, and Piccadilly Circus. Young readers will have the chance to look for Nick Fury hidden in the pages. The illustrations are filled with bold bright colors and the stylized landmarks on the map of Europe and in each country Spiderman visits fit the text perfectly. This is a quick read and doesn't involve too much information, just right for pre-K through 3rd graders and super hero lovers.
Spider-Man only visits Venice, Prague, and London in this book. If I had a trip to these places planned with a young child who loves Spider-Man, I could see using this book to create some excitement. Although the book does provide a little bit of information about each place, it isn't the greatest tool.
This was so fun! I loved the illustrations. This is more about travel than it is about fighting villains or the action of the forthcoming movie. Gives readers a quick glimpse of Venice, Prague, and London. Includes Spider-Man and his school friends from the movies. Terrific!
I’m very cultured in the spider man film franchise, and this book definitely provides such a light hearted and endearingly relatable bond that I believe can never obtain from the franchised films.
I am not a big fan of Spider-man, spiders are icky to the nth degree, but this book was a totally delightful read. Kudos to Calliope for a great read and many thanks to Andrew Kolb for his terrific illustrations!!
Fun book that I was surprised to see that it had none of the action of the movie and is actually more like a Where's Waldo type book. My son who is a fan of spider man really enjoyed pointing out where spider man and Nick Fury is on every page.
It looks cute. The illustrations are good. It's not about Spider Man at all. It's more of a description of popular places in Europe. For that it's not bad.
Cute I think a kid would enjoy this book. I would of liked Spider-Man to show more of the cities he visited, give more facts for the kids. Overall enjoyable.
I'm giving this a 5 star review for Andrew Kolb's fantastic and adorable illustrations!! I loved the lurking Nick Fury on almost every page. The illustrations really made this book so much fun
