A new day dawns at the Faulks family mansion as Fenrir-er, Routa-struggles to maintain the facade of being nothing more than man's best friend. Papa Gandolf has to travel to the Royal Capital on business and decides to make a family trip out of it, inviting everyone along. While it's an idyllic vacation at first, trouble arises when Routa gets scouted by a collector of rare and magical creatures! And later on, a group of adventurers is dispatched to Feltbelk Forest to investigate the site of a recent magical disturbance. Will Routa be able to keep his secret safe? ...Speaking of secrets, Hecate's been acting a bit weird lately...
Not much of an improvement from its debut volume, Woof Woof Story still remains a rather bland and the very definition of a "light novel".
This story is still more on a slice-of-life bent, but unfortunately the rather boring characters just makes this series more about repetitive jokes and as much fanservice as it can cram in.
There's barely any character development and the main character is still as bland as a dog with super-powers can be, with most of the jokes revolving about his determination to be seen as a regular dog that lazes around the house all day long except when playing with his master.
While it's a pleasant enough read while on the train, I wouldn't really recommend it for much so far.
It was okay. It got a bit too goofy, felt like this was trying to be an anime by describing visual gags and references and started relying on anime tropes that I'm not a big fan of. Not going to look for the third book.
It continues to not be deep or anything, but it's fun and cute and I still really enjoy it. I do kind of wish Routa was a little less harem anime protag and was a bit more accepting of the affection he gets from all the cuties in the story, but he still comes across as a caring guy who really wants to be this good friend to everyone for the most part, so I'm okay with it. Anyway, silly, cute, puppy, I'll keep reading.
An ok development as I do like Routa's interaction with the dragon who now lives as a mouse on his head. The first half is probably the better one as it focuses on Routa trying to get a collar as they explore the Capital and I do like the antagonist they run into there someone who wants Routa as a pet who tries to steal him. Honesntly this should have been what this volume should have been about as the 2nd half feels a little tacked on and should have been its own story.
As the saga continues things are shaping up to create an enjoyable experience for all.it seems that things are not going to turn out the way Rotha wants.
