This compact, full-color guide is an ideal introduction to the cultural, religious, artistic, and architectural heritage of Egypt’s Coptic Christian community. Covering the ancient monasteries of Wadi Natrun and the streets and churches of Old Cairo, and ranging from Deir Mar Antonius on the Red Sea to Abu Mena on the north coast, this handy book is ideal for first-time visitors and experienced travelers alike. With over 150 color photos, maps, and 3D drawings, Coptic Egypt is a colorful and informative traveling companion.
A fairly basic, though well-photographed, guide to the history as well as churches, monasteries, and artifacts of Coptic Egypt. I bought mine in the shop at the Hanging Church, and found it useful in my visit to Egypt.
