Cameron knew it was a setup before he and his sister Caitlynn got there. It was supposed to be a hit to take Cattie out. Cam being there was just a bonus. Had they been entirely human, the explosion would have killed them both. With them both being critically injured, they were taken to a private clinic owned by Jake and Forrest. To the world they would appear to be dead, at least until Cattie could put together who was out to get them.

Rick wasn’t sure what he was supposed to be doing here. He’d been asked by his buddy and longtime friend, Forrest, to come by his house—he had a gig for him. Rick hadn’t had a gig of any kind for years now and getting a call from Forrest out of the blue, like it had been, couldn’t have come at a better time.

Cam had many abilities. One he felt was somewhat of a curse. He was so in tune to everyone else, like an empath he felt what they felt, so much so that he couldn’t separate his own feelings from theirs. Because of this, he avoided ever having a relationship.

Being an elite shifter, Rick wasn’t confused. As soon as his fingers brushed Cam’s at the kitchen table, he knew they were mates, and he was about the rock Cam’s world.

Cameron, an agent, knew right away he and his twin sister, Caitlynn, were set up, and he didn't even need his extra abilities to tell him so. Thankfully, they survive, but while recovering, which is possible due to said "extras" they both have, they need to uncover why and by whom. With the help of their new friends, they're able to do that, and are saddened by what they find. A bright spot amidst that darkness though is Cam finding his mate.

Rick, an author, was asked by his friend, Forrest, to come for a visit, and help someone in trouble. Needing to get away from life, he accepts, thankful for the distraction. What he didn't know was how deeply that decision would change his life forever...literally.

Rick and Cam have both been hurt, by life, by their fathers, by betrayal, but finding the love they were destined to have with one another will help them both heal and move toward a happier future. But first, they must ensure Cam's safety, and that of his sister's, as well as rid their lives of those who are nothing but toxic.

Can Rick and Cam take out the threat once and for all? Will Rick return to the job he loved? Or has he found a new path in life? Will Cam go back to being an agent or is he ready for a change? Will Cam be the only one to find their mate? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as these two men learn to trust again while finding a love that will make everything bearable as long as they're together.

As with all Ms. Barton's stories we are pulled in right from the start and Cameron and Ricks story starts off with a bang. Having special abilities is a blessing and a curse. Cameron's abilities make it hard for him to be in a relationship or close contact with others as their emotions, thoughts , etc. flood his mind. His family is dysfunctional and his only ground is his sister. When someone tries to take her out of the picture his friends swoop in to make sure they are safe. Rick is not sure why he was invited to stay at his friends house, but he wont say no as his life keeps getting more complicated . Being an elite shifter makes it easy for him to recognize his mate so when he touches Cameron when they meet he knows he is the one for him. I love how the previous characters in this series are so blended within the new stories. Each new saga introduces us to more and more interesting characters and it is fascinating to see how their lives are so entwined. Rick and Cameron will have a bumpy road and several obstacles to overcome before they settle down. Lots of information, great storyline, interesting situations and characters make this another great read for an enjoyable afternoon.

After being setup and severely injured, twins Cameron and Caitlynn find themselves recovering in the private clinic owned by Jake and Forrest. They're told to lay low and allow the news to travel that they were actually dead so they could discover who was out to get them.
Rick was on his way to the small Ohio city as a favor to his old friend Forrest. He wasn't quite sure how well this was going to work out after he was blacklisted within the publishing/book world after he was accused of stealing another's work.
To top off all the problems, Cam and Rick's fathers are both causing problems as well within the family because they believe that they are owed something, and their sons should be the ones to provide for them. It's obviously not a good time for Cam and Rick to learn that they're mates, but fate doesn't wait for life to be easy to throw a wrench in the plans.

Book was good. I will however say one thing I really wish the author would've included is more about Rick being an elite shifter. Not once does he do any shifting or is it really talked about beyond the beginning when Rick tells Cam and they discover they're mates.

What an adventure-filled book 'Cameron' has turned out to be!! The nucleus of this family just continues to grow. First, we had 'Jake and Forrest', then came 'Henry and Patrick', now we have 'Cameron and Richard'. As we get further along in the series, pieces are starting to fit together. Each of these couples, including the parents, grandparents, and sibling get to tell a piece of their story. The entire thing plays out like a movie with so many moving parts it just flows. The characters themselves are so relatable and flawed it makes them easy to love or hate depending on who they are. I'm completely hooked on this series and can't wait to read Brody next.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. This is not my normal genre but truly love reading Kathi S. Barton so I gave it a try and was not disappointed. I look forward to seeing where this series goes and can't wait for the next book in the series.
