A reader + writer of romance stories, with some paranormal + darkness sprinkled in + HEAs. I enjoy reading many kinds of other stories too.

I took 3 years off from writing, but I'm back! Kinda ' P

My newest story PSYCH (not in the paranormal genre | released Fall 2025), is a new-adult, college, second-chance romance, with a mouthy, male rockstar MC, and of course, a HEA : )

Happy reading!

** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much R. Kitt!!! You’re awesome! ;-P **

Well, “Macaria” certainly was something new and different! *lol* After finishing the novella I felt like I had to sleep over it, you know the kind of sleep where you let things sink in and make up your mind. ;-) So that’s exactly what I did! R. you made me go to bed early!! I guess you can be proud! Haha!

Anyway, never mind! ;-)
It worked and that’s the important thing, right? XD

So when I woke up this morning there were two things that were crystal clear to me: 1.) I enjoyed R.’s novella! 2.) It was too short. 3.) I’m in dire need of coffee!

I'm beginning to understand why souls would want to feel this alive again, and trade whatever they could; it's intoxicating to be among the living. Everything here is so bright, melodically moving, and intricately precious. I've been missing out, and I think the good kind of trouble is in my future.

I really liked the idea to mix Greek mythology with our modern world and the fact Macaria was kicked out of Hades for saving a soul was really interesting. XD Of course there is way more to that specific soul than initially meets the eye and I can honestly say that I had absolutely no clue in which direction this book was heading. I mean yeah, I was aware that Adam and Macaria are supposed to end up as a couple, but the way they finally did was really surprising. *lol* And that’s actually putting it mildly. I had a real “WOAH moment” there! ;-P

“Macaria, you are the worst kind of heartache I could ask for.”

Looking at it in retrospective I somehow ended up liking all of the characters. From Zagreus to Evie and Melinoe to good old dear Charon, I really enjoyed them all! Of course grumpy and angry Hades was one of my favourites though. XD Even Echophina was kind of intriguing and if there was one thing I didn’t like about this novella, then it was the simple fact that it was too short. I think some important parts of the plot came up short because of it and that makes me really sad. >_<
I would have loved to get more background information but since I know that there are two other novellas I sincerely hope that they will be able to shed some light on things. *lol*

This said I can recommend “Macaria” to everyone who is looking for a short and funny read that deals with love and Greek mythology. If you hate the “love at first sight” trope you better don’t read it though. *lol*

Once again thanks for the opportunity to read your book, R.! I’m sorry it took me so long to get to it, but it definitely was worth the wait! =)))

Macaria (novella) (Six Degrees #1) by R. Kitt is a book I requested and the review is voluntary. This is a interesting book about the daughter of Hades. Macaria let a soul go back to Earth and that got her in trouble with 'dad' so she is sent to Earth. This is her story. It is pretty interesting and a pretty neat love story with twists and turns. It is short but stuffed full of great fun!

I'm giving this spark of heroic romance a solid 3 3/4 because despite the distracting plentitude of typos, I liked the characters and really wanted to know what they would do and what would happen to them. Powerful descriptions (especially of ), dream-dropping, and "What in the Deepworld...." as these characters' version of "WTH?" make this Bad-Place-set adventure a good time. Thanks to R. Kitt for the opportunity to visit this world.

I loved this one! At first, I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy the story because I don't usually read stories with H and h being so young plus I can't remember if I've read a story about mythology. It's not the usual books I read but I'm glad I gave this one a try. It's so good!

The story is about Adam and Macaria.

She's the daughter of Hades and was forced out of the Underworld for an indefinite amount of time as a punishment for setting a dead soul (Adam) free.

There were some twists and turns but their love for each other is forever.

It has an epilogue. I would love this one even more if there's a better epilogue.

This book is so excellent!! We have gods and goddesses, and the royalty of hell. A truly imaginative story with romance and humor.
Imagine your the teenage daughter of Hades and you meet a hot guy (ok, the hot cute type, not the hot on fire type). Anyway, you discover there are more depths to your connection with him when you are sent to live as a human with your mom on Earth.
There's romance and friendships. Add to that danger and high school. Excellent book! Excellent writing! 😁💕📖

*I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author in return an honest review.

Macaria by R Kitt is a story about Macaira, the daughter of Hades and her long-lost love, Adam. The beginning of the novella is a bit abrupt but, ultimately, I found the opening scene and the ensuring story to be captivating. The whole books is very descriptive and I found the idea of a half-god seeing the human world for the first time to be fascinating. The vision of the underworld that R Kitt presents is a nice blend of mythology and her own imaginings. I also really liked Marcaria - she is such a sarcastic teenager (in the best way possible). In regards to her relationship with Adam, I sometimes felt like I was missing something, which turned out to be accurate seeing as there is a great twist later on about Adam’s past. I still have questions about their respective backgrounds but I get the feeling that all will be revealed in a later story (well, if R Kitt writes another story about them). Macaria (the book) could have used a good editing, as there were some moments where I was a bit confused, felt rushed (and there were many of these moments), or left wanting something more, but ultimately, I was very interested

Truthfully, I probably wouldn't go back and do it differently even if I could.
Who wants to walk the straight line all the time?
I don't.

We begin with Adam’s POV who has somehow died and woken up at the Gates of Hades and he paints a grotesque and creepy picture of what he sees around him.

I'm dead and equipped with four human senses, and a fifth that is having some mechanical issues.

Next comes Marcaria, the daughter of Hades, who tells Charan, the ferryman of the Underworld, to take Adam back. This little stunt gets her exiled from the only home she’s known and sent to the Topside (with humans) as a mere mortal. I personally loved how emotions and feelings hit Marcaria and how she accustomed herself with the concept of time and human contact and even clothes. It was rather fun.

There's nothing up there that I want to see. It's a fraction of the size of the Underworld and those human emotions, no-thank- you."

The world was a cool mix of Greek Mythology and something I cannot tell you yet. There is good mystery throughout the book. It was a super-fast read. I still have so many questions and I was so curious about Hades and Marcaria’s mom and I wanna know all the history there! Marcaria’s siblings were really interesting, especially Melinoe. I did ship Adam and Marcaria but I think I loved book 2 so much more.

Chemistry, and emotions, and hormones, and angst, are the only feelings raging in the deepest parts of my body all of a sudden. I can't stop thinking about ‘him’.

Wow! I'm not sure what I was expecting from this one, but it wasn't what I got. Macaria read more like poetry than prose. Check this out:
Streaks of red clouds paint the sky and start bleeding crimson rain in every direction, and fall like hot ash on my skin.
As soon as I began looking at this novella as more of an epic poem, the more I loved it.

I don't remember the last time I let myself read without any judgement and just enjoyed how the words in a sentence came together. Because this...
The coldness in the air is neither painful nor pleasant, but present.
and this...
Her lips curl up at me and vines of thorns made of shadows raise her up into a throne.
are full of beauty and feeling and imagery. I found it to be a very refreshing change of pace.

The story itself has a 'love knows no bounds' feel to it and revolves around Macaria, daughter of Hades, who's been exiled from the Underworld, where there is very little emotion, to the Humanworld, where of course, there is.
I've never experienced cold or discomfort in any way before, not even in death, but as I walk through to the other side of Hades I feel its gentle bite on the exposed parts of my skin.
There she reunites with Adam.
His eyes stare at me and they reflect the exact emotions that I'm feeling: fear and confusion of the unknown.
As a work of fiction, Macaria needs some work. In between all the beautiful imagery, there were quite a few misused/misspelled words, and many scenes felt abrupt and needed to be fleshed out to give the reader more understanding of what was happening.

But if you're like me, and you just plain love words, then you should check this one out!

Okay, just one more quote. :)
Above me there is an infinite dark sky but no sun, moon or stars, it looks like a midnight-blue apocalypse.

This was an unusual read for me. I went into it not really knowing what it was about or what I was going to get. While it’s definitely romance, it also had a huge supernatural center. I was intrigued by the world this author created but also felt a little loss some of the time. Almost as though I was missing out on a previous book. Not sure if that was due to too much info in such a short space or the need for the writing to be tightened up a bit. Either way, by the time I reached the end, I got it. And I enjoyed it.

Well... I really liked the story, but it was too short and some details were missing.
First of all, I liked the names. I mean, each character had a name I’ve never heard before (besides Hades), even Adam had a unique name in the end.
Second, don’t get me wrong, but there were parts of this book that seemd to be written out of the blue. And this was a mess for me. I didn’t understand that part with their history on Mars - this is where I needed more information, I didn’t understand the relationship between Adam and Macaria because it was way too rushed (one day they saw each other, the other day when they met, they were already in love - not my cup of tea... sorry).
If this book had at least a 100 pages more, where I could have read the information that I consider to be missing, maybe I would have given this book 5 stars. Because it really had an interesting storyline.

Macaria, daughter of Hades, was sent up to the human world, as punishment, after making a sole decision of freeing a young man's soul (Adam).

I like Macaria's innocence once she became human again, moments that will make you laugh as she learns how to be a "normal" teenager. And her meeting with Adam, is quite awkward, being stark-naked and all. It was a cute scene. There are secrets that will be revealed as you read along.

It's been awhile since I've read a YA book, and it's quite refreshing. I enjoyed this novella more than I expected to. Well done, R. Kitt!!!

"Reincarnation is what I've had to do every hundred years or so, just like the humans hustling above my head right now. I remember every life, every death, and the cycle that starts me up again. Humans on the other hand, they can't remember any of their previous lives when they're alive. My newest body, and newest life, is going on sixteen years in a month. What a pleasant birthday gift from daddy dearest, exile, I think bitterly."

I don't read YA very often, it's been a few years since I've been in that category (alright, maybe more than a few, ha!) but every once and a while a book comes my way without the warnings that I love so much.

Macaria was imaginative and interesting, mythology was something that I craved when I was younger and it brought me back to that feeling of wanting to know what else was out there. Macaria is the daughter of Hades, Adam is the soul that she insists doesn't belong in her father's realm and as punishment for saving him she's cast out of hell into human world she's never experienced before.

I don't want to give too much away but I will say that eternal love knows no bounds and what Adam and Macaria have is exactly that <3

Definitely I story I don't normally read, but the plot itself was okay

Macaría, has been banished by her father to live on earth for who knows how long because she helped a soul escape the underworld, Adam.

When they meet there's a connection that draws them together and I found it interesting to see how and why they were familiar with one another.

Through their journey, they unravel secrets about their forgotten past and have to defeat old foes who they didn't think they'll see again and vice versa

I liked how Kitt added Greek mythology but also a bit of science fiction into the fix, it was a pleasant surprise to see her write about 2 different genres, yet they connect really well together

Overall, it was a pleasant read.

Received a copy from the author herself, in exchange for an honest review, thank you!

Loved it! As a kid I loved mythology and it has been awhile since I've read anything in that type of genre but I'm glad I gave this one a try. I was immediately hooked in by the atmospheric start, without giving away any spoilers, it really captured my imagination. By the end of the book, where the underworld meets reality, the story was just getting started when the book ended. I just need to read the next two now!

This short story is about Adam & Macaria who meet in Hades on the day of Adam's death. It is a love story mixed with Greek Mythology. Both Adam & Macaria are drawn to each on earth in a way neither of them can explain. After their first kiss, the past is revealed to them & they now remember what their mutual attraction is to each other. The setting for this tale is high school with Adam & Macaria being teenagers & their close intimate circle of friends. The was a fast enjoyable read & is appropriate for young readers & older readers too.

"I'd have died for you, literally, to see you again, hands down. That's some crazy stalker shit."

description

FIrst installment of the Six Degrees series, Macaria is a book I had a great time reading. It's short but so very original! The Greek Mythology background and references intrigued me, as well as Adam and Macaria's stories. I don't usually read books with young characters but the author kept me captivated all along, so much so that I would have loved to know more about the heroes' "past" lives.

The intrigue moved fast, maybe a tad too fast since I sometimes felt like some elements were missing to better understand how the pieces of the puzzle click together,  but all in all the twists and turns were really entertaining.

Ahhh such a sweet breath of fresh air for me.

Kitt and I have spoken more than a few times via messages and when she told me to check out her book you can imagine my surprise when I found out she had an entire short series going on.

It definitely took me out of my comfort zone, not in a bad way. I am kind of close minded when it comes to romance genre books, it’s hard for me to get into fantasy - like story lines.

I was mentally physicing myself up “read it Dani, this isn’t aliens we’re talking about, it’s Hades/Zeus - like Hercules. One of your favorite childhood flicks. Do it. Just read it!”

And you know what? I’m so so glad I did.

It’s a touching love story - Macaria and Adam. I found myself totally connecting with the characters and I loved the humor in the book, being completely honest here there wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like and that is saying a lot considering that she is fairly new. I understood her writing style, and hardly noticed the errors.

Great job R. Kitt, I’m super excited for your future novels and to see where your writing career takes you, you can bet your ass I’ll be watching from the sidelines cheering you on! : D

My Review:
I seem to be doing a lot of short books lately. This one packs a lot between its covers. And it's totally unexpected. A story of the daughter of Hades by a mother that's basically unknown? Well, unknown on Wikipedia and such places, 'cause I checked.

Okay, so Macaria ticks off her father, Hades, by making Charon send this soul back to its body because of its color. It was red and gold, like hers rather than blue like the other souls. So, Hades exiles Macaria from Hades for an undetermined length of time. But it's all handled with kid gloves. He's such a Dad! Her big brother is there to watch over her. She's got her feathered bag with her phone, clothes, and black platinum credit card. And after all these years of asking without an answer, she is now to meet and stay with a long lost family member.

And then there's that red and gold soul again. His name is Adam and they seem to have more than colors in common. Big brother is watching, remember. So is Daddy. And when things get a little too wild, and the monsters get a little too big, Daddy can lend a hand.

I thought this was a really cute story considering it's about the daughter of Hades. You just don't expect them to be a really normal family. Maybe normal's not the word. The action never seems to stop for them. I wonder what surprises are in Pretty Monsters? There goes my TBR list again! How 'bout yours?

I quite enjoyed this light read by Razalii Kitt. I have always enjoyed mythology, Hades and the underworld in particular, and I like the spin put on it in this book. The characters are great to read and all in all it is a really good, quick, light read. Can't wait to read the next one

Macaria is the first in a series and combines a bit of Greek mythology, science fiction, romance and the supernatural. It has a lead into the second book and the author emphasises the Six Degrees of Separation ideology.

Adam arrives at the gates to the Underworld. Oops. He very possibly should not be there. Well, Macaria, daughter of Hades, certainly seems to think so. She decides to free his soul and her father is so angry with her that he sends her topside. Back up to Earth. Macaria now gets the opportunity to meet her mom for the first time too. And then a revelation. Apparently, they are not who they appear to be. Now what?

As the book started I was intrigued as to why Adam was at the gates to the Underworld and why Macaria sent him back. The descriptions at the beginning of the book were illuminating, but the writing did not seem to carry on in the same manner. I found the fall-in-love-instantly relationship between the two very strange and even knowing the backstory didn’t answer the myriad of questions that then popped up.

Unfortunately, another round of proofreading was definitely needed too as silly mistakes cropped up with incorrectly used words being substituted for another like using scotch free instead of scot-free or affect and effect. The story is short and the abrupt ending (even though there was a teaser for the second book) did not do enough to draw me in and want to continue with the series. This is a pity considering that the premise of six degrees of separation between the books sounded promising. Maybe if the story and characters had been fleshed out a little more I would have wanted to see where this went.

Thanks to Voracious Readers Only and the author for a copy of the book.

I enjoyed reading this. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of romance genre, I still found this book quite interesting. It was such cute story.

This is story about Macaria, daughter of Hades, who brought one soul back from dead. That soul was Adam, her long-lost love.

I really liked Greek mythology and other-worlds connection.
I liked Macaria's first view of human world and how she tries to blend in. And Hades is great dad (like no Hades' babies 😂). And the line "What the Deepworld" (equivalent of what the hell) was great.
From the beginning I had a feeling that Macaria and Adam were connected somehow in previous life, and I was right. But that twist later (about other planets and other stuff *that I will not mention because of spoilers*) I really didn't expect that.
Two souls bond together in every lifetime.

I would love to continue with the series. Thanks to R. Kitt for giving me a chance to read this novella.

A short story that is a quick introduction to this new series. Sixteen year old Adam meets Hade's daughter Macaria at the gates of hell after he dies. But apparently he does not belong there and this short story ends with Adam being guided back to his earth bound body with a new and extremely intense awareness of Macaria. Nice series start.
