We see only what we focus on. Although what we don´t focus on can change our lives.
Six people. Six stories. And all of them strongly connected.
- An owner of a newspaper stall, who is drowning in troubles. - A millionaire who has it all but the one thing he wants the most. - A careerist with a dilemma. - A womanizer who only looks at the world through money and sex. - An overweight publisher looking for a bestseller. - A young widow trying to save her son´s life.
Can these lives be connected as they are happening in different places all around the world? What if they can't exist without each other? Is everyone looking for their own "Goodpoint"?
You may have missed a bus, or somebody cancelled a scheduled meeting. You may have just not greeted someone on the street, or intentionally not pick up the phone. You may have pushed someone by accident, or your car broke at the most inconvenient time.
Do you think these things are insignificant in life and do not mean anything? What if it is just the opposite? What if life consists of seemingly insignificant things?

Hi, my name is Roberto F. Canducci, and I am a writer, blogger, screenwriter, storyteller and best basil pesto maker ever.
I am the author of several best selling books like How you can start writing your book successfully, Six steps to success or my new novel Goodpoint which is currently available on Amazon.com - more than 15.000 copies sold.
I am also the author of a few movie screenplays.
My books were published in several countries. I love reading, writing and teaching writers how they can reach a massive success with their products like books, screenplays or blogs. Life is more beautiful with black words on white paper. Don't you think?
This book was amazing! I start reading with some worry, but the story dragged me into it. I really fell in love with the end of whole story. Thank you Roberto!
Sometimes a book is so poorly written, so amateurish it impossible to finish. "Goodpoint" is one of those books. The number of ungrammatical or awkwardly written sentences actually outweigh the well written ones. I got 20% of the way through and realized I had no idea what was even going on in it. If Mr. Canducci is an eighth grader, he might want to revisit his idea in about ten years.
I really liked the idea of this book, but in the end it did not deliver. Part of the problem is that first few parts of the book take place in New York, but it felt like the author only knows New York (and maybe the entire USA) only from watching tv and movies. It also felt ironic that a book about the publishing world felt like it needed a good editor itself. I also felt that each short story moved too fast for me to really care about the people. Maybe it would have worked better as a screen play.
I won this book through Goodreads and, as with every occasional win, I'm excited to try a new (at least to me) author. The other day I realized that to do my part, I needed to work these "windfall" books into my normal reading schedule because it doesn't do anyone any good if they are not reviewed so that others can make a more informed decision on whether they should try a new book. I am only sorry that I decided to start with this one. Although I thought that the basic story idea was a good one, I just didn't feel like the writing followed through. The author's use of the English language seemed just a spot off...sentences just didn't seem to flow smoothly. Additionally, every time a contraction was used the word had extra spaces on either side of the hyphen (i.e. don ' t) and when it came at the end of a line...which was frequently...the reader's eyes (at least mine) had to always bounce back to correct what I thought was coming. I will say that toward the end of the story I felt like it came together a little more but it was not enough to pull it out for me.
I won this book through Goodreads so I felt I should try to give it a review. I struggled with the grammar, so I did not read the entire book but stopped half way through. I was pulled into the story and did read the end to find out how it turned out. 4 stars for concept and 1 for not proofreading.
