Qué asco el "la gente más sensible está más evolucionada".

Qué asco el "la gente normal no nos entiende a los sensibles y quiere matarnos".

Bueno, primero quiero decir que odie a la madrastra de Rio, que señora tan maldita, a ver, su hijastra necesita terapia, pero no por eso la tiene que encerrar en un hospital o decirle que es mejor que se muera! Me pareció interesante eso de que Rio y Sahoko se conocieran desde niñas, y si, Sahoko llegó a la vida de Rio cuando ella más lo necesitaba y la hizo sentir querida e importante, y yo, como una persona que sufre de depresión sé lo importante que es sentirte válido y querido por alguien más, y sé que las voces de aliento muchas veces apagan esa voz en tu cabeza que te dice que no sirves para nada y que todo el mundo estaría mejor si no estuvieras ahí porque eres una carga o un estorbo, pero también se que la depresión o cualquier enfermedad de salud mental no se cura solo por estar con la persona adecuada, siempre es necesario el tratamiento. Creo que aunque la autora quería dar un mensaje sobre esto de las almas gemelas y eso, y de que la vida puede mejorar si conoces a esa persona, falló un poco en esto de la salud mental y la necesidad de un tratamiento correcto.

I was feeling nostalgic and got the urge to re-read Nanae Haruno's Pietà. I must have been around 15 when I read these two volumes the first time, and I see the story from a slightly different perspective now.

I can relate to the concerned adults a lot more, for starters, but also, when I first read this, I picked it up just for the romance between two girls. (You just had to read anything queer you got your hands on since it was difficult to find anything at all). I was so focused on the main characters' relationship back then that I missed how interesting the antagonistic characters are, too. The poetic justice of Shigeko sabotaging herself is just perfection.

This is genuinely a well written, rich story, but honestly, the real reason why I gave these 4 stars is that after all this time, I still have a crush on Rio... the swooping bangs get me every time.

Ok, so this was way too much "soulmates" for my liking, both from the doctor and the main character. However, it wasn't as codependent as I expected, and it showed no toxicity on page. Nor was any implied. I just can't believe there would be no such issues in their relationship. I also didn't like that the main mental health professional who cares for them was written to explicitely state that they might not need professional medical longer-term care. For an 18yo who just tried to kill herself again. Anyways, the epilogue was cute, and I appreciated that it showed inklings of all of them still worrying about these issues from different points of view.

Bałam się to czytać, bo ostatnio mam jakiegoś pecha i każda manga w końcu mnie zawodzi, ale jednak w tym przypadku drugi tom jest tak samo dobry. Aż żałuję, że nie mogłam tego przeczytać, gdy byłam młodsza. Mam wrażenie, że wtedy docenilabym go nawet jeszcze bardziej.
Chociaż były też rzeczy, które trochę mnie drażniły, np. gadanie o ewolucji i jeden dialog z dodatkowego rozdziału. No to już było ciut za dużo.

No soy muy fanática de los mangas, pero por impulso leí éste y no me arrepiento para nada. Es una historia corta, triste pero muy bonita al mismo tiempo.

"Detrás de la planicie de mi memoria.
