I received an eARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
So, this is the second book that I read from Tara and I have to admit, that it shows, that Tara is getting better. At least for me the first book wasn't that good.
This book is waaay better and I am glad for this. It ran smoothly and I really liked both characters. They were strong, funny and confident. They are successfull and proud of what they achieved. And most of all they are not over confident.
Their banter was funny and it lightened the mood up.
Both of them are very stubborn and they are both very hardworking and success - driven owners of companies. Nobody wanted to admit that they were falling for each other and they both wanted to win this life changing deal.
Love the story and the ending was great.
Good job Tara.

If It's another "Man Vs. Woman" Battle, this Time between S€X¥ Furniture Tycoons... Who's Gonna Pull Out ALL The Stops To Cum Out On Top!!
Sooo.... I gotta say, there's a lot going on in this S€X¥ Battle of The "Broken Headboards," Male vs. Female, Romp that'll definitely keep you entertained, if not wondering what's going to happen next!!!
I'll tell you I've NEVER read books written in the style Tara Starr chooses to employ, so it's a fresh, unique slant that's quite enjoyable for me!! You see, Tara chooses to write herself into her books in a witty way~ I'm not giving anything else away about that, except to say that I like it!! It's seriously funny:) Her characters Even Talk with you... Absolutely Hilarious!!
Her book definitely reads as a StandAlone...
However, it also links to other books & even Tara's website, which are all referenced in the book; albeit, it's done in a way to wet your appetite & tease you a bit, without leaving you scratching your head wondering WTH...
I wasn't lost at any point, & this was only my second time Reading a Tara Starr book!! Even my first book didn't leave me lost at any point.
That said... What you'll find inside is a Smokin' HOT Romance with some Pretty Scorchin' S€X¥ times between Two Strong Characters who're fighting Hard, against each other to secure a Contract for their businesses... It's a wonderful "Man Vs. Woman" battle of the S€X€S!
At some point, they team up in the bedroom, which may eventually spill over to the boardroom & achieve mutual goals!
However, there's a serpent slithering through some underground dealings...
Which makes their final project a definite shock to their very cores!!
Can the Battle of The "Broken Headboards," survive ALL the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by the Furniture Tycoons...

Competition Never Looked So Erotic
The contemporary story, Broken Headboards, Nights In New York: A Romantic Comedy, is Book 3 of a 10 Book Series by author Tara Starr. It takes place in New York City and the series's infamous Clarendon Tower; The place where the characters live and play with each other, selectively. This book highlights furniture rivals Tess and Austin who discover they in the Tower and are competing for points to earn the privilege of updating the furnishings in the common areas as well as new one bedroom condos.
They discover they have this problem. They have this overwhelming attraction to each other but still want to beat each other. This conflicts leads them to come up
with some outlandish sabotaging toward each other. But, can they keep it up while they get to know each other? Can they still be friends after the competition or will it drive a permanent wedge between them?
VERDICT: Broken Headboards is a fun read. Both characters were inventive, tormented, and opened their heart to love. Even though the male character was to be extremely alpha, his internal dialogue showed his underbelly just enough that didn't turn me off and had me rooting for him.
The storyline was well developed and I liked how it flowed from chapter to chapter. In fact I read it in one day.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment.

This is the first book I have read in this series but it didn’t really matter it can be read on its own. It was a good story, hot & steamy with funny bits too - the headboard fight made me lol!
Austin & Tess are competing for a 2billion dollar contract to furnish an important building, so yeah the stakes are high... so having a strong attraction to the opposition is not ideal! They had good chemistry & I liked the feistiness between them. The amount of innuendo they come out with while flirting/ verbal sparing was both hot & comical at the same time!
At first I didn’t like how she spied on him, I thought this was going to be a bit light hearted & that was just harsh, but then he retaliated after that so didn’t feel as bad... jeez do they fight dirty!
Couldn’t help but read on to find out who would win. The ending was sweet.
I don’t like when a book character calls the reader baby & stuff it just sounds patronising, but that’s just my preference.
There’s a teaser at the end but it’s not a cliff hanger.

Tess and Austin are competitors in the furniture world and both are after the same contract that could make or break their businesses. Sparks fly between them from the very beginning. Each tries to sabotage the other is very unique ways but as they are fighting each other they are also learning more about themselves too. Austin is used to getting whatever he wants and with Tess not giving up on the contract it just infuriates him. The attraction between them is so intense they end up coming together in yet another of their battles. Will this competition make them more than competitors or will it end things between them before it has a chance to grown into something more?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Tess and Austin is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Warning there are parts that will have you laughing out loud. I would recommend this to any book lover.

First I have to say Tara Starr is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Tara writes in the typical romances genres, Broken Headboards is the enemy to lovers genre, BUT, Tara writes the genres in her own unique way and it only makes her books even better. Tara's books stand out as the best of the best! I could include spoilers or tell you about the story but hey isn't that what the authors blurb is for. What I want to include in my review is Broken Headboard by Tara Starr is a book well worth the time & money, a must add to every romance readers Kindle library! She has her unique writing style that make her books magnificently funny, the banter between the H&h is tremendous, & the storyline is laugh out loud hilarious through the very last page! Broken Headboard is Just an all around fabulous story! Definitely Recommend One-Clicking all of Tara Starr's books but definitely Broken Headboards! LOVED IT!

WOW! I looove Tara Starr she always starts her books off with a bang from the opening paragraph. The opening chapter in the common area of Clarendon Towers made me laugh so hard that my stomach hurt. The residents of Clarendon Towers are nuts. This was a great story from the first word to the last word. Austin and Tess are perfect for each other. Tess is exactly who Austin needed to take him down a peg or two. Tess is a strong Alpha female and basically the female version of Austin. Go Tess. I loved that the previous characters were in the book. I’m anxiously awaiting the next crazy adventure in this series. If you have not read the previous book in the Nights In NewYork Series give your self a treat and do so. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

This is the third book in the series and is just as entertaining! It concentrates on Austin and Tess who are both in direct competition for a$2 billion contract to furnish an exclusive set of apartments. The chemistry between them is enough to spark to extinguish the building they are so hot. These two are both driven and focussed on winning - they don't want to be second best - only The Best for both of them. But something is going to haver to give. Their banter had me laughing and smiling as it was so well written by Tara Starr. I have read each of the three books in this series now and I am a definite fan of her stories now and will continue to look for her books as they are just so good! This is the third book in the series and the message is this: Your rival also lives in the Tower and you are going to get into a hard fought competition over some business deal. They you are going to get to know him/her and it's all downhill from there straight to an HEA.
Now, that's not a bad thing, is it? And what saves the story from being formulaic after just three books is the writing. The story is solid, easy to read, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you entertained as well as a good sense of humor. The characters are also strong and well developed, keeping you off balance as to whom you are rooting for. But in the end, everyone is a winner in one fashion or the other.

This is a really hot rivals to lovers romance by Tara Starr. This story takes place in New Yorks, Clarendon Tower Condos. Furniture rivals Tess Armstrong of Domina Furniture and Austin Randall of Oakmond Furniture must battle against each other at any cost to win over the Claredon Towers contract. Their attraction is instant but also dangerous. I love how strong, smart and motivated Tess is and how determined, sexy and arrogant Austin is. These two really know how to battle and heat things up. It’s a great read!

Oh lord the antics that are pulled throughout this story were fantastic. It has me laughing out at times because you can just picture all of it happening. Tess and Austin have this banter that just doesn’t stop. They have superb chemistry and personalities. Both are super strong, stubborn, and charismatic. This story has drama, suspense, and of course hot romance. This is definitely worth reading and it doesn’t disappoint.

Broken Headboards is part of a collection of books, and the only one I’ve read. There are references to the other stories, but I didn’t pay attention to them. It’s a cute story, but not one that I found to my taste. I’ll probably buy a copy anyway and read it again though because it is so cute. And I definitely would recommend it to others. Happy reading!

Hilarious competition
Excellent romance that made me laugh a lot because the two main characters spend their days spying and cheating to each other, to get a contract that would bring them billions; and at night, they are inseparable lovers who make other sparks. It was fun, with a lot of humor and steamy scenes sometimes, but always hot.

I enjoyed this enemies to lovers story because of the lengths both Tess and Austin go to, in the hopes of winning the contract for Clarendon Tower. This book will have you laughing out loud in parts. I won’t leave any spoilers, so grab your copy and read more from the Clarendon Tower residents.

Omg, this part was fantastic again. I really laughed at this. You are simply involved in the story and the chemistry together with the humor is phenomenal and really hot, hot, hot. I hope the rest is so good, because these are just books that everyone should read. From me 5 stars ..

I haven't read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!

I loved the chemistry between these two characters. The author wrote a wonderful story full of humorous antics and believable dialogue. I wish they were real because they were very entertaining and I hope to read more about them in the future. Another book, please?

A fantastic well written great romantic comedy read. I loved the drama in this fun hot and steamy enemies to lovers romance that is filled with witty hilarious dialogue. Tessa CEO of damica furnishing and Austin CEO of Oakmont furnishing inc have amazing chemistry as thay are competing for points to earn the privilege of updating the furnishings in the common areas as well as new one bedroom condos which neither is shy to subatoge. A great twist that I didn't see coming on their way to a HEA.

October 14, 2018I was pleasantly surprised when I got into this book. I thought it was just another billionaires story but I was totally wrong. It has been an emotional turmoil, sneakiness, and a competition to end all competitions. Lots of action, the way to the top of the heap is filled with all kinds of setbacks and problems.

Though I enjoyed the story, I found it disconcerting with the references to others characters and stories in other books, when I have not read them. This book was full of steamy scenes and had a good storyline. I will read more by this author just to see what her other writing is like.
