Guns Blazing is a Spin off of Andréa Smith & Eva LeNoir's Black Balled book which can be read as a standalone but trust me if you haven't read Black Balled yet what planet are you living on?

Ok!! Where do I start Oh Yeah Right: grab this book and hold on tight because you will not be able to put it down trust me.
It's amazing, Brilliant and hotter than Hades with that out of the way, we get a look at two total opposites and Wow the old saying opposites attract is putting it mildly when it comes to Lloyd and Luke.

We met Lloyd in Black Balled he was Larson's lawyer lover who as we know was soon replaced by the phenom Troy.

Lloyd is a powerhouse in court he is overly OCD and he does not believe in losing at anything, fully take charge in his life he has made a name for himself at being undefeated at what he does but the one place where Lloyd is not in charge is between the sheets and in the bedroom, this is where the dominance ends and boy has he met his match with his soon to be new client Luke.

Luke Gunner is in for the ride of his life he has gotten into a bind where he just might not be able to use his brilliant mind and skills to get out this time so...... Here's where the fun starts meet Mr OCD fanatic versus laid back hot country smart boy and "Bam" the heat is on full force.

These two have a chemistry which is off the charts. Luke not making a good first impression with the powerful OCD Lawyer Lloyd with being late for his appointment , we get a story full of angst and omg laughter and scenes where I laughed so hard at the constant back and forth between these two opposites but the story was so brilliantly written it covered a lot in this novella and we saw walls being broken down between these men it was such a great journey to watch.

One of my favorite scenes was the bathroom scene with the toilet omg you will know it when you read it.

Grab your copy today it's a short book that pulls a big punch and I will be hoping and ummm begging for more from
These two great authors

Guns Blazing (Black Balled Spin Off) by Andrea Smith & Eva LeNoir
4 stars!!

““ Guns,” aka Luke Gunner, had a record as long as my cock. Trust me, it was impressive.”

Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir deliver a quick short MM read in Guns Blazing which is a spin off from their hilarious MM book, Black Balled. But what this book lacks in pages it makes up for in content. While this is not as funny as Black Balled it is more an intense ride, these two men were definitely intense.

Lloyd Ledbetter was the lawyer in Black Balled that Larson Blackburn was seeing before he met Troy Babliona. Guns Blazing is his story and how he overcomes the sudden loss of Larson and finding love when he least expected it.

“Luke was my new rhythm and I couldn’t wait for him to pound me to his personal tune.”

Lloyd was a fantastic lawyer with a reputation for getting the job done, even the hardest of cases never fazes him and where others would walk away he gets stuck in. None more so than when Luke Gunner walks in.

“Unfortunately, my professional perversity to a challenge where the odds were stacked up so high against me they tickled God’s ass was just too enticing to ignore.”

Luke Gunner was a…hmmmm…well just what was he…under the guise of a video shop owner he was a consultant to the lower echelons of society, the men that no-one wanted to do business with. He was a money launderer by trade, kept no records whatsoever, everything was in his head. This man never forgot a thing. Now being set up for murder of a man he has never even seen the odds are stacked against him. Condemning forensic evidence is their biggest asset to finally put Luke Gunner away, but how did it get there and where did it come from?

When the cocky and arrogant Luke Gunner first walks into Lloyd’s office he is immediately on the offensive and doesn’t want to take the case on. The more though that Luke wheedles under Lloyd’s skin he realises it is a lost cause. Luke brings the dormant urges of Lloyd firmly to the surface, the ones that haven’t been seen since Larson and while he puts up a valiant to stave Luke off, he doesn’t stand a chance.

“Run your tongue along the ladder. Feel the ridges, imagine it’s your asshole. Now, multiply those thoughts by a hundred and maybe you’ll understand the power of a piercing.”

Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir deliver a mystery type read as Lloyd goes up against the police and FBI to save his new boyfriend. Turning detective and putting his life on the line as well as his reputation, Lloyd is a man on a mission.

“Somehow, in the span of thirty minutes, I had gone from my neat little litigations world to a bad remake of the Sopranos…on crack.”

It was great to see Lloyd’s walls come down and see the man behind the suit. While these two were chalk and cheese they really brought out the best in each other. While it was a case of insta love it is expected in a novella and even though their fall was quick, it was believable. I became totally invested in their story and was championing these two along. I would have loved to have spent longer with these two and by the end wished that this was a full length novel. These two were two men that got firmly under my skin.

Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir deliver another smoking hot MM that has something for everyone. As I said above, although this was a novella it packed punches. Fast paced, highly entertaining and emotionally captivating these two left nothing out. This story was totally consuming from first till last page and kept my avid attention throughout, all I was left wanting was for there to be more. I didn’t want their story to be over. Another fantastic read from Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir.

Unimpressive 2 stars

Loving both "Black Balled" and "Hard Edit" I was excited to read something else by these two authors. Unfortunately this side story of Lloyd's left me wanting. There were a coup,e of hot scenes between Luke and Lloyd, but everything felt rushed. Maybe if this had been conceived as a full length novel rather than a novella, the character and plot development would have been more engaging and convincing. As it was, I just didn't "buy" the characters nor their relationship.

Merged review:

Audiobook July 2019: Joel Leslie seriously raised my interest in these two men and their heated relationship!! Moral or the story? A kickass narrator can seriously raise the level of writing and turn a “meh” story into something I enjoyed listening to!!!

I was given a courtesy ARC of this book for an honest review and honestly... I LOVED IT!!! It's sexy, it's hot, it's naughty, it's FANTASTIC!

The writing is well-written, the characters are intriguing, and the story is captivating. Once you start reading this book, don't expect to be able to put it down.

Guns Blazing is a story of love with no limitations and that somethings in life are worth fighting for and that is exactly what this book is about... fighting for yourself and love.

If you aren't a fan of hot, sexy, alpha M/M romance that is sure to get you hot and bothered, then move along because this isn't the book for you.

Oh I have been dying to get my hands on this story and I know if you have read Black Balled you will be too. I was thrilled to hear that Lloyd would be getting his own story. It was beyond anything I actually imagined. A writers imagination is one of great beauty. These two amazing ladies have brought yet another sexy read with a fantastic story line. This book can definitely be read as a standalone but honestly go download Black Balled you won't be disappointed, then come read Lloyd. They both have the WOW!! factor.

Lloyd is a lawyer, and an exceptionally good one at that. He may drop to his knees at the drop of a zipper but he's no push over when he's in lawyer mode. He is such a fun, lovable character with a real OCD problem. I mean that toilet scene totally cracked me up. Besides his talented brain for jurisprudence and his talented mouth that reminds me of a dyson vacuum cleaner, Lloyd deserves to be loved. This man would do anything for the man in his life as long as he was treated the same way, with Love, respect, trust and all the qualities I know Lloyd can give to someone.

Luke Gunner a wannabe client of Lloyd is determined to get Lloyd right where he wants him, stripped naked and on all fours, LOL!! I wont lie, I am telling you in all honesty that some of the scenes in this book blew me away. Hot and sexy but also fun, I actually think I was drooling at one point. Luke is like, hmm! think gorgeous, think huge muscles, think dominate, think tall, think large with jewels, HA! Yep I have been doing a whole lot of thinking.

Luke needs Lloyd's help, without it he is sure to spend the rest of his life in prison. Lloyd is extremely attracted to Luke, just looking at him gives him a boner, actually me too but hey ho moving on. Both men have to rake up the past and get some answers and get them fast.

This story was first class full of awesomeness. It was sexy, hot, fun and intense. There was danger, excitement and laughter. It was outstanding and I am stamping my feet because I want more!.

I have to say, I love Lloyd and all of his over-the-top persnickety ways. We first met Lloyd in Black Balled, he was Larson's lover. In this book we find Lloyd lonely and missing Larson, but that feeling won't last for long. When Luke Gunner walks into Lloyd's office needing legal council, he sets Lloyd's world on it's ear! Luke is the polar opposite of Lloyd, and you know what happens when opposites attract!

Lloyd and Luke's chemistry is palpable, and when they come together...POW! But more than just the crazy good sex, I felt these two connected on a spiritual level. When the going got tough, Lloyd showed just how strong and resilient he could be, he is no shrinking violet. And Luke is yummy in an unkempt and wild kind of way. But, I think it's Luke's intelligence and pure heart that made me fall in love with him.

This story is exciting from the very first page. It has murder, intrigue, mystery, sexual tension, fantastic love scenes and a twist that is genius! I really can't gush enough about this story, and I hope that Andrea and Eva stay writing partners for a long time! They make magic together.

I absolutely loved this one. I loved Luke, he was such an alpha male and smart to go along with his hotness. These two were so opposite it's not even funny. I loved their banter and the way they were with each other. The mystery that is wrapped in the story was awesome. I definitley didn't see that coming. Awesome job Andrea and Eva.

I have to admit that when I read Black Balled I wasn't too impressed with Lloyd Ledbetter. Then again, in that book my focus was centered on Larson and Troy so anyone getting in the way of them would have been a nuisance and on my "get lost pal" list. So when I heard about Guns Blazing, I was thinking that reading it could wait since I was annoyed by Lloyd already. But that's the thing about reading other characters' stories-you discover a whole other part of them that you didn't know you wanted to find, and once you do you're kicking yourself for not reading it sooner. So yeah--here's me, kicking myself. Hard. I should have known better just based on the awesome writing in Black Balled that Guns Blazing would be just as awesome.

As annoying a character as I thought Lloyd was previously, here in Guns Blazing his organized, successful, but still submissive self was a real treat. Luke Gunner is quite the complement to him with his dominating attitude, and watching the two of them play off each other had me laughing quite a bit. Luke wants Lloyd right from the start-no matter that it's not appropriate seeing how Lloyd is Luke's attorney...his criminal attorney-and he manipulates things so what he wants, he gets-and Lloyd winds up steamrolled and going right along with it. One place Lloyd is not submissive? In his attorney role. He's brilliant, powerful, and just a force to be reckoned with.

The drama is addicting-as are Lloyd and Luke's sexual exploits (oh my hotness!), and I read this story straight through without stopping. The best part about Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir's storytelling? The fantastic witty banter between the characters. It's some of the best I've ever read, and makes this series one I will be re-reading many times.

Now take everything I've said, and toss in Joel Leslie narrating the story. Pure. Gold. His narration is perfect, and really made Lloyd and Luke come to life for me. You can feel Lloyd's transformation from his submissive self to commanding, in-charge attorney in Joel's words, and his interpretation of Lloyd is probably one of my favorite character narrations.

5 stars to Guns Blazing, and 5 stars to Joel Leslie's narration. While you could technically read this as a standalone, I would definitely suggest reading Black Balled first-it will make Guns Blazing much more enjoyable for you. Highly recommended for M/M romance fans 18+ (for adult language and explicit M/M sexual content)...and yes, I'm still over here kicking myself for waiting to read this. Now that I have, I'll be reading--and listening--again and again.

Is it possible to fall in love with a character that you despised from a previous book? I think Smith and LeNoir have proven a point. I frickin' love Lloyd now. Who is Lloyd? He's a secondary character from Black Balled - that M/M story/parody that I wet the bed laughing over. Yes, I know the synopsis says you can read this as a standalone. But really, do you want to do yourself the disservice of not liking Lloyd to liking Lloyd? I think not. I HIGHLY recommend you read Black Balled. And if you have, well....

Holy hotness on a motorcycle, who the hell is Luke Gunner and can I find one to keep? I mean piercings and all. For Lloyd to have a perfect match to ruffle up his OCD world, it had to be Luke. Now, Ms Smith and LeNoir don't let up on tickling your funny bone. However, I would consider this story a lot more intense than humorous to the previous book. The story is rich in getting to know the characters, what makes them tick and how the relationship grows. Mix in Luke's legal troubles, you've got a long night binge read that will not allow you to put down for bio breaks. Plus the authors give you a Larson/Troy sighting. What's not to love?

Absol-friggin-utely nothing. A fun, entertaining, yet tender plotline. Mix in a bit of suspense - BAM! Perfect read. I feel like I should give "WARNING". You should or I'll say MUST read Black Balled first to get to know the characters. It just gives depth of understanding. However, Guns Blazing is in NO WAY Black Balled. It's a different story, different feel. Not to say you won't be laughing your head off in parts - it's just well - two other characters who are different from Troy and Larson so of course it will be different. But different good - different great - it's Lloyd and Luke's turn for their story to be told.

So I have been putting off this review because I started off with the audio and the book together. This is my first audio book but I have heard excerpts from others so I'm not a complete virgin with audio books...I've just only had the tip so far. This time I went all the way lol.

So I don't really know how to rate this book because if I am being honest I really didn't enjoy the audio. In fact at some point I had to stop using the audio and just read the book on it's own because the audio was ruining it for me. Please note as I say this, I love these authors and love this series. That said, for me, the voice on the audio was all wrong, for how I perceived Lloyd. I just felt like the voice was much older sounding than Lloyd would be and I wasn't sure I liked him as Luke either.

Now that does not mean that you might not like the audio just because I didn't. And please don't mistake my dislike for the audio as my dislike for the book. I did enjoy the book although I will admit I had a hard time getting the voice out of my head. Nonetheless, it is a fun story to read.

"Holy f*ck...sh*t... That was one. Now turn around, hands flat on the vanity, eyes locked on the mirror and watch me f*ck you into oblivion." OMFG!!!

Obsessed - that is the one word that best describes how I feel about the impressively adorable Lloyd Ledbetter and smoking alpha Luke "Guns" Gunner. Apart, they are amazing, but together? They are absolute perfection! The banter throughout had me giggling, laughing nervously, and blushing uncontrollably. Wow, this novella is HOT! I couldn't believe how many enviable sex scenes the authors managed to write into such few pages and not have it overloaded! There was so much going on in this story, I read it in one sitting and almost cried when it was over. The plot was fantastic and engaging and moved at a very smooth pace. Also interesting was the mafia/crime twist. I just loved it! So, please, Andrea and Eva - tell me that we will be seeing more of Lloyd and Luke in Hard Edit. I need them now!

After reading and loving Black Balled I was intrigued to find out that Lloyd had his own story. Lloyd Ledbetter was the lawyer in Black Balled that Larson Blackburn was seeing before he met Troy Babilonia. Guns Blazing is the story of how he finds love when he least expected it.
This was Lloyd and Luke's story. A story that is the definition of opposites attract as Lloyd and Luke could not have been more different. These two flawed characters had absolutely nothing in common yet they were perfect for each other. The story was hot and steamy with murder, intrigue, suspense and a twist I was not expecting. I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of MM romance.
The audiobook was narrated by Joel Leslie who did an amazing job with these characters. He was able to create distinct voices and bring out their unique personalities, and his pace and timing was spot on. I enjoyed listening to him narrate this novel.

These two... *chuckle*

Lloyd and Luke are definitely of the opposites attract variety and it's comical sometimes. I like the contrasts. Lloyd gets over Larson (prior book in the series) by getting under Luke... and boy does it work! There's some mystery and mayhem in store for these two as they navigate the circumstances that brought them together.

This book moves faster and is shorter than book one and while you don't need to read book one to enjoy two, it's probably better if you do.

I enjoyed this as part of the Black Balled audiobook boxset. With so many male voices for one narrator to manage, I think Joel Leslie does a pretty decent job.

I truly and in all honesty believe that the writing Fairies have put these two authors together because I have never seen such perfection in a book than when these two Authors are at work.
Andrea and Eva are a match made in writing heaven and each time produce something so polished and so perfectly constructed you can only find yourself in book bliss.
I first fell in love with their writing when I was lucky enough to read Black Balled. That book forever ruined me for any other as it set the bar for others to come. And although I have since loved and enjoyed many authors of the genre, to me that book will be forever the ultimate MM read. It wasn’t only the story but how it was developed and how impeccable was written. But I regress. I have taken my time since finishing this book to write my review because, well you see, when you read something so amazingly and incredibly brilliant, you don't just want to write how much you enjoyed the book but you want to do it with clout.

Where to begin. We met Lloyd in Black Balled as Larson Blackburn “fuck buddy" and, although he played the part of secondary character, we always knew the time will come when he will get his own story. I am sure some of you like me, begged and bugged the Authors into give him his own book and Allas, here we finally are.

As an OCD sufferer myself (well not to the extreme level as Lloyd), I empathise with him and understand the importance of having control on all aspects of life. Sadly that is as far as the resemblance go with him because he is not only a clean freak but also someone extremely intelligent.
When we left him at the end of Black Balled, he seemed to be heartbroken from having to walk away from Larson and although he was (in his own way) happy for him finding the love of his life, he hated the idea to relinquish the man to Troy Babilonia.

Well, since then lets say he has only engaged in casual sex and is not interested in committing to anyone or allowing himself to fall once again for anyone, he seems still pretty miserable without Larson.
As a prominent lawyer he has made a name of himself and he excels and dominates all aspects of the Court, is the place where he is control. If you were to ask me who he reminds me of, I would say I envision him as Harvey Specter from Suits, he once said in one of his many immortal quotes that, “The Only Time Success comes before Work is in the dictionary”. Well Lloyd would say stuff like that.
But of course this is a Romance story too, and our Lloyd is about to get the biggest and most unexpected of visitors in the form of Luke Gunner.

Ah Luke, how can I describe him. Well, he is even smarter than Lloyd. I am talking MENSA material. The man has an enviable memory and is SEXY AS HELL. However he is uncouth where Lloyd is refined, rough where Lloyd is polished and dominant in every sense of the word . But perhaps those traits are what make this unlikely pair such a perfect fit.
Luke suddenly finds himself embroiled in a situation that can ultimately end his life, he therefore needs all the help he can get seeking the one person who can be his salvation, Lloyd.

As much as I would like to spill the beans into how these two “happened”, I am not big on spoilers and I would rather you get yourself to Amazon and ONE CLICK this baby NOW.

A fabulous original plot, total page turner, suspenseful, intense and downright sexy, Guns Blazing is a Must READ.

Sometimes I write reviews when I have had a little bit too much wine.

Excuse me. We have had a road trip today, this might be one of those type of random, she's had wine kind of reviews.

I did love Black Balled. Larson and Troy. Lloyd was an annoying little shit though. I was glad he got a punch.

Then surprise surprise Mr perfect lawyer man gets a book of his own. And respect, he is all legal eagle. Bespoke suited, drop dead gorgeous.

Along comes memory man Luke Gunner, hmmmmmm my banking career says report money launderers. I might let him off just because I like him. A lot.

Luke is accused of a crime he didn't commit. Lloyd has to get him off (of the charges against him and get him off). 2 hot men at logger heads.

The word on the street is that it was an associate of Luke. My money was on Wil E Coyote. It was an impressive line up of villains.

Great, great read. Funny in parts and hell sexy.

Adam Levine is mine by the way. Erin needs to accept that he is married to me.

Quick quotes!

"Well then, Mr Encyclopedia. I wonder how far that knowledge will help you when they start making you the new bitch under the shower."

"Somehow in the span of thirty minutes, I had gone from my neat little litigations world to a bad remake of the sopranos...on crack."

Another great read from Andrea Smith and Eva Lenoir. The is a spin off of Black Balled. We were introduced to lawyer Lloyd Ledbetter as Larson's lover slash lawyer. Well Larson dumped Lloyd like yesterday's garbage so we are gifted Lloyd's hea in Guns Blazing. I don't think you need to read Black Balled for this story at all (but you should, it is really good).

Guns Blazing is Lloyd and Luke's story. I was expecting a short sweet bdsm romance when I picked this up. I was not expecting a mystery at all. But there it was mystery, intrigue, super hot romance, and a bit of emotion to round things out. Overall a well developed story given the shorter length. Definitely worth the read.

On a side note, the Andrea Smith books which I have read thus far have all been unique, well edited, and with well developed characters and plots. I have added a few more of her books to my tbr as so far all have been very good. Don't think you will go wrong picking up a book by this author.

4.5 Stars! There is just something about Lloyd. I don't know if it's his topping from the bottom subby behavior or what. But I love this guy! Luke definitely was good to push Lloyd's limits. Really loved that we were able to see Lloyd's heartbreak over Larson eased because he deserved someone who truly appreciated him.

This was a hot story! Full of action too and big surprises, and some between the sheets yumminess, I loved watching Lloyd get his happily ever after. The only thing keeping this from a solid 5 was this book didn't label the chapters with who's perspective it would be in.
I got an arc, btw.

Turned out to be a good story!

In this fiery smokin’ HOT M/M romance, Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir have set ablaze our hearts with this smoldering spin-off, Guns Blazing. Though this book is considered a novella, Ms. Smith and Ms. LeNoir didn’t hold back as they delivered a story that packs a punch.

#GunSBlazing

Lloyd Ledbetter is a powerhouse attorney that dominates the courthouse. He exudes confidences and power but when it comes to the bedroom, it is the one place that he does not control.

Luke Gunner is the best money launderer criminals can buy. He is your go to man. But when Luke lands himself in some hot water, he needs the best attorney that money can buy. Enter Lloyd Ledbetter.

Within the first meeting, Lloyd and Luke instantly had chemistry. These two were oozing lust, sex, and fascination. And soon these two were finding themselves tangled in the sheets. So can Lloyd mix business and pleasure while clearing Luke’s name?

Andrea and Eva didn’t hold back as they amped up the heat, passion, and steam in this high octane adrenaline pumping M/M romance. Guns Blazing did not disappoint me at all as Andrea and Eva proved to their readers that they will set hearts and ereaders ablaze with a romance that weaves banter, humor, sex, passion, and mystery.

Lloyd Ledbetter was introduced to us in Blackballed as man Larson Blackburn was seeing before he dropped him like a hot potato. Guns Blazing is his story. A story of him overcoming his relationship with Larson and moving on to someone that is able to love him the way he deserved to be loved.

Enter Luke Gunner. A consultant of sorts, if you’re consulting on money laundering and other unsavory details. When he gets word of some charges that involve a Senator he’s never met, a kidnapping and possible murder; he seeks out the criminal defense attorney with a record for getting off even the guiltiest. Lloyd.

Sparks fly instantly as Luke gets under Lloyd’s skin and pushes all his buttons – even the ones that have his cock throbbing in his Armani slacks. These two men are complete opposites but once they get behind closed doors the attraction sky rockets and Lloyd finds himself submitting fully to the dominant Luke. For the first time in Lloyd’s career getting the client off (pun intended) is personal.

Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir did it again! This was smoking hot M/M romance and although this was a novella; this story packed so much of a punch that nothing about it felt short or rushed. It’s rare that you find a novella that can grab and hold your attention as if it was a full length novel. Guns Blazing was certainly that type of book.

Both points of views were excellently written and I loved these two characters. Having read Blackballed, I wasn’t caring too much about Lloyd in the scheme of things, but now that I’ve read his story – I am so happy that these two women decided to write it.

Another side to Lloyd Ledbetter

There is a better view of Lloyd than what we see through Larson's eyes. He isn't pathetic!! Who knew?? He is a strong and confident man...completely in his element as a criminal legal eagle. In enters Luke who needs his expertise as a Lawyer and finds he is completely turned on by the obsessive man. Very sexy!! Luke is a keeper...but his criminal background doesn't jive with how he was raised. I don't want to give the story away so I will leave it at that. You will understand why when you read about his loving parents. I also dropped a star because This story does not coincide with its parent story. In "Hard Hit" Larson walks in on a private meeting between Lloyd and Luke and is introduced to Luke for the first time. In this version there is a phone conversation where Larson needs legal help and then meets Luke later at the Rockefeller Tree lighting after Larson and Troy are married. I know it is a small detail but every detail counts. These two stories are happening at the same time and to a reader who starts at the beginning with Black Balled, this detail matters.
