A fantasy novel about life and strife after apocalypse. The loner, among people with varying superpowers and people-eating shadows & mutants, the protagonists takes the responsibility of keeping himself and his friends & family alive. He has no superpowers but is still a leader. Coldly rational, strategist and totally focused, he has to ensure that he overcomes everything to reach his goal.
New world reapers : the end of beginnings is a book by Amritansh Dayal It is a story about four friends ,who were caught in during a apocalyptic occurrence . The book narrates of these four individual who had acquire during these occurrence and who later go on to join the elite forces to protect Earth from shadows and mutants. The book is somewhere between a sci-fi and fantasy . The story is action packed and filled with fight description and various adventure . The protagonist however doesn’t have superpower but nevertheless manages to conquer all obstacles and s . The story line of the book and the imagination is nice .But the narration is what kills the book , it multiple pov which can be very interesting as it provides insight into different characters but in this case it creates confusion . There are great many numbers of characters in the book but unfortunately there is no character development ,as a result they seems to be stupid and uncaring . The pace of the book seemed very slow and stretched a little too much at certain places . However in an still giving this 🌠🌠🌠 for the innovative ideas. It can be clearing seen that the author had made ideas and concept behind the book .For instance ( at least from what I understand ) the author wanted to show to that you don't need superpowers to become a good leader . But all of such ideas became vain due to poor presentation . I think the editors should have worked more with the script and should have come up with more compact final product . Overall it was a book with a good concepts but poor presentation . Thank you the book genie for providing me with the review copy.
The cover and title of the book are very interesting. I picked up this book mainly because of the cover, but honestly the story wasn’t as good as I expected.
The blurb of the book could have been better, it doesn’t give a clear idea about the story. The plot of the story is good but the way it is written could have been better. The narrations at many places very ambiguous.
The story is set up in a dystopian society where the humans are fighting for their survival against the mutants and shadows (different races like humans). The group of humans is defended by an Elite force called the reapers who fight for the human race. Further story is about how they fight for their survival.
The elite group consists of four friends. Three of them have superpowers like controlling the elements, super-strength,etc. The main protagonist, the only one who has no special superhuman power, is the leader of the group. We get to see the bond these four characters share which could have been better, the characters seem very immature. I understand that they are just teenagers but still they have superpowers and they are meant to save the world, so the character development could have been much better.
Overall the idea of the storyline of the book is good but the execution could have been better. So it was an okayish read.
Now let's see how the first book of the New World Reapers trilogy turned out for me.
- First off, I'd like to say that I totally judged the book by its cover. I mean, there is sunset and everything, it really attracted me and I definitely wanted it because of that. But as the saying goes: "Never judge a book by its cover" else you will be punished. I guess I was.
- For one, this book has the longest prologue in the history of prologues and it was really tiring just to get through it. In fact, for the most part of it, the prologue would have been better had it turned into a chapter. That would still have been more satisfying.
- Now, let's talk about one of the important characters. So basically, there is this group of four friends, three of who have superhuman powers like controlling the elements, super-strength and so on. Our main protagonist, the only one who has no special superhuman power, but who came out on the top of everyone else because of his practice and strength is probably someone to be respected (I mean, he is the only guy who earned his place, you know? You all just had it by luck)! However, here is an incident that happens (I'm re-framing it in my language and except the ones in double quotes) :
when the four best friends (sort of?) go to fight with the Shadows, Athias suggests a plan that would help them win in numbers. Because he has no powers and the other have and because the number of shadows and mutants is quite high, he suggests they us their powers and he go and look for scraps, in case any is left behind. Now here is what his supposed best friend Aria says, "So, we do the work and you sit back and watch?"
Now, you know, I completely understand that they are teenagers and everything but considering how they are fighting monsters, wouldn't you think she would be a little more matured than that? He is your leader, after all and you asked him for a strategy. He gave the one that fit best.
So really, Aria was one of the most irritating character in the history of irritating characters and what's more is that Athias doesn't even realize that. She is still one of his best friends. And that just sucks about the entire plot. But wait, I have more on Aria:
They are best friends right? So when Athias asks why is it that he is the only one who has no powers, what she says is "You don't have powers because you're not worthy of them."
Well, let me tell you one thing misters and miss best friends, it is you who has cut the line and gone and taken the powers. Athias at least has earned whatever rank he is on. Do you get that?
I mean, I can't even talk about this without thinking how pathetic each character is and then saying that he should just let go of them. But of course, he is so stupid that when they belittle him by saying he isn't worthy, he believes them. In fact, he even says that he makes a mistake when he asks why he has no powers. I mean, talk of pathetic-ness!
- Now the writing style. To be honest, I cannot even talk about it. I really really cannot. It's just... hard to express how much I disliked this book because of this major thing. It was hard for me to read through the entire book (honestly, I couldn't bear it. I wanted to leave it midway because of its writing style!)
- The plot was okay-ish and I don't have much to say about it.
- The tagline of the book was pretty good. That was the only other thing that attracted me to the book, apart from the cover. The blurb, however? Um, give me a break!
- It was a sort of a dystopian novel but I cannot be sure. There were things that showed that it's just fantasy. So well... In any case, it reminded me a lot like those zombie movies where the apocalypse has already arrived and things like that.
- The characters however, seemed fine. They weren't developed that great but they weren't too bad either. What bothered me about them, except maybe how disgusting Aria was and no one questioned that, was how each of them had no impact of lying in the air for so many days. AT ALL! I mean, talking in human terms, it should have affected them psychologically. It should have affected their health. Hell, one of them could also have gone crazy! But no, they were all okay. So yes, this bothered me a lot.
- The author wrote this book from the point of view of many different characters but I fear this only reduced my connection to each of them, even Athias who felt like an outsider half the time. Normally, I don't mind different POVs but it seemed as if the author just couldn't pull it off yet.
I've always believed that through fantasy, a writer can make the impossible possible but this? It was way too weird, even for my taste. The book started with how the main character is one of the background guys but tell me one thing Mr. Athias Dawn, if the story revolves around you, if you are the narrator, if you are the only different person in the entire platoon, if you are the highest ranked official there, then how on earth are you the background guy. Care to explain, dear author?
My verdict of the book though is that it requires tons of editing. It was as if the book was pushed to publishing without even being edited first and that well, there were loopholes that the author needs to look at and that there were many grammatical errors. So requires editing: check! I'm certain though that afterward, it could be a helluva lot better.

Book Name -: New World Reapers: The end of the beginning Writer - Amritansh Dayal Edition - Paperback
Summary -: New world Reapers is the story set in the period of apocalypse where the whole human society has been destroyed by some evil force and those who were left has been transformed into Shadows & mutants. And the other have developed superpowers. Those who don't have superpower is called 'Athias'. There are 4 friends in which 3 have superpower and 1 don't have & they have to save the colony of humans which was again attacked by the evil forces. How'll they save the left society read and find out!
Things I liked -: 1. The genre of the book is somewhat a combination of dystopian, science fiction & fantasy. Which made this unique and you can enjoy all 3 in one book. 2. The story is like a Hollywood movie ployt which will keep you bind with it and also the plot is full of twist, turns & adventures. 3. The characters of the book remind me of a Anime show - My hero academia, where all the people have superpower except the main hero. The characters are somewhat like that but the story of this book is unique and it'll definitely impress you.
Things I didn't liked -: 1. The very 1st thing I didn't like is the prologue, Just want to ask the author why didn't you turned that into a chapter. It's the longest prologue I've ever read. 2. The story is not for everyone specially for those who can't read long book cos this book is going to take forever to get finished. The story is very long which I somewhere didn't like and I felt like the author try to make the story interesting by elongating it but it made the story worse. I started feeling to quit the book in the middle but because of the plot I kept reading. 3. The narration is neither good nor that bad you can easily read it but at some points it's difficult to read and understand the book. 4. There are many characters in the book and they are not described well in this part but I hope author will describ the story of each character in the next book.
Verdict -: Should you read this book? Well I've read other reviews about this book and most of them are negative but I'll say you should decide it by your own. For me it was not that bad it has a good plot, full of imaginary work and also the author is just 19, and not everyone is best from start. I hope he'll keep the reviews in mind and try to remove all the bad things in the next book. And at last I'll definitely suggest this book to those who don't have any problem to read long stories & to those who want to read something different and new.
My Rating -: 3.25 🌟

Blurb :-
A Broken World...A Scattered Race...A Web of Cruel Interest...
That is what greets the remnants of eradicated humanity as their first stronghold of a new world is snatched from them. Watch as each of the characters in the book embarks on a journey to accomplish his or her own goals while combating swarms of monstrous opponents, both, in body and in mind. With their own weapons and traits, they endeavor to achieve their own feeble goals and grand ambitions.
Of the four surviving friends, the protagonist is the only one without any superhuman power, but he is still the leader of the group, and the master strategist, who is trying to ensure that his friends survive the bitter battles with the Mutants and the Shadows. Will he succeed?
My review :-
How do you differentiate between good books and bad books ? What's the parameter you would follow to judge a book, it's merits and demerits. The New World Reapers is one such book which could be which interest someone and make a dull and boring read for many others.
The book cover is good and simple though the reference is minimal. The title is appropriate in consideration with the story. The writing is simple but incomplete in most ways.
The story is set up in a dystopian society after an apocalypse. The fight between the surviving humans with super powers and the invincible mutants who aim to destroy everyone with the help of another race called shadows. The group of humans defended by an Elite force called the reapers who fight for the humans with an invincible captain Athias. How he defends the human race is what the story is all about.
The story to be honest doesn't have any proper base. The start of the story is in ambiguity and the end is even more ambiguous and half done. The author has more or less intended to cover what happened in the span of a month in around 300 pages which makes it a long drag and becomes dull. The major drawback of the book is the style of narration. Entire story is narrated by almost 8-9 characters and makes it very very confusing to keep a track of the events and the pronouns go haywire during the read.
Overall, the book needs a lot of correction and editing and a different approach to the narrative. The author has a fair bit of idea about what he intends to write but the execution has gone totally wrong.

It looks good with the vibrant color combinations but then it doesn’t go with the story. STORYLINE/CONTENT Starting off with the prologue. It was one of the longest, most stretched and a very boring as well as tiring to read prologue. The story is about a gang of four friends, three of which are blessed enough to have superpowers. The left out person is obviously and as expected, the protagonist. The book is a long stretched and a quiet a boring story about the author and his best friends’ strategies and plans on the road of wars and survival. The End Of Beginnings is a fantasy novel and the first part of the trilogy of the series " The New World Reapers ". Though I love reading fantasy novels, I didn't quite enjoy reading this one. It is story about a time when an apocalypse striked the earth and destroyed the humanity. Not only the humans were wiped out but the ones who survived were granted super powers. Each one of the survivors possessed some or the other super power except for the protagonist- Athias Dawn, who was left to be an ordinary human. The new planet which was formed was in the hands of the evil race- The Shadows and Mutants. Athias was the leader of the team which was responsible for saving the people from the Shadows and Mutants. Athias along with his team of super heroes set on a mission to save his planet as well as his friends from the cruelties of the Mutants. Will he be able to save the humanity? A fantasy novel with psychological thriller and twists which will keep you on the edge and won't let you put your book down.A perfect story for those in love with a YA Sci-fi with action thrown in the mix. One thing I liked about the book is that each chapter in this book is told from the perspective of a new character which helps in understanding and knowing the character from close. But there were too many characters which made the book a bit complicated for me. The language used is easy and understandable. Though the plot is interesting and smooth, I didn't really enjoy reading it. I found the story dragging at points with too many errors which actually couldn't be ignored. Overall I didn't really like the book but if you love sci-fi and fantasy then you may give this book a try.
Book: New World Reapers (The end of the Beginnings) Author: Amrintansh Dayal
Cover : shades of orange and Black given intense look with man standing in Dark with two swords in hand in an destructed landscape grabs all your attention
Review : The story is set in post apocalyptic world and shows how the survivors struggle their way out to live. The story focuses on boy named Athias and his friends. It shows that in post apocalyptic world there is a mutant uprising which is trying to kill all the humans that survived the apocalypse.People survived here have some kind of unique ability developed after the apocalypse they all put together an army to help each other survive, the protagonist and his friends are the part of this army. . . . . Story further shows how they all all fight against the attack of the mutants or what they called them in story the shadows and how they survive the Attack. . . . . The fight scenes in the story are very well written but sometimes the thoughts of protagonist or him speaking in mind makes the plot very loose and lengthy. . . . . Not much focus given to other characters apart from the protagonist all we know is mostly their abilities, their background is merely mentioned. Character development could have been Better. . . . Story is interesting Except in some parts it's very loosely written making it a bit boring. overall it is a good book Language of the book is easy and can be picked by beginners
To review this book, the fact that should be considered is the age of the author. The depth of the characters, the novelty of the imaginations and the twists and turns, everything would be according to a teenager's imaginations and hence the book should be judged accordingly.
Coming to the plot, the book is a sci-fi-fantasy thriller. After the apocalypse, the humans left are transformed into shadows and mutants the rest of the humans are superheroes and the only one without superpowers is the protagonist Athias Dawn, who leads the team and makes the strategies. Further the readers get to see the thrilling incidents with a lots of twists and turns.
Plot and the characters are complicated and the author has managed to sew them together without lumps. The characters seemed immature but as mentioned before the age of the author matters. The book is indeed targeted at young readers and hence the plotline and the type of characters are justifiable. The book cover is appealing and forces the readers to pick it. While considering the age, as mentioned before, what stands out beyond the age of the author is the attempt to narrate the incidents in different perspectives, which the author has pulled off beyond his age.
The story talks about new beginnings. A apocalypse strikes the world which does not only wipes out humanity. But in turn, it also gives the surviving humanity super powers. Additionally, the other humans are now eventually getting transformed into shadows & mutants, whom we observe to be despicable creatures. Not much of observable humanity is left, but they are doing their best to survive in this remains of a so-called world. After all, survival of the fittest is the key.
A fantasy novel, a mysterious adventure, a mystical world, where humanity is on the brink of extinction. A spotless psychological thriller filled with twists & turns incorporated at every interval. Also, a bit of science fiction has been added to spice things up. The book feels like watching or reading X-men series or resident evil movies. Though I expected a bit more. But good for a new writer to come up with this.
Language is simple, good & easy to read. Needs editing. Book has mistakes from time to time. Narration is simple. It makes it easy to understand. Though it could have been better overall!
My views regarding book- Cover is pretty for the book but title is not entirely match with book. Because, title and entire story are very different from each other. Blurb of the book could have been better. Plot was Okayish but not that interesting. The narration could have better and improved. The characters in the book were not well developed. I didn't read prologue for most of the book but decided to read for this book, almost it took me 15 minutes to complete prologue because it was stretched so long. Writing style was not so good and it could have been improved. Language was simple and not so interesting.
There is a group of four friend and three of them had superpowers except the protagonist i.e. leader of the group. They have to save the world from wars and survive them all. The race of mutants called shadows were to destroy all humans but these superpowers of three friends and their strategies could help humans against wars. Would they be able to save the world?
The story didn't have a proper baseline hence, the book cannot be completed is single sitting as it book gets boring.
This is a fantasy novel and this fantasy novel will attract people of all age groups. As the burb suggests, the apocalypse of world wipes out most of the humans and all the surviving human develop superpowers. All the other humans are transformed either to shadows or mutants. All the surviving humans are trying hard to stay together and survive in this new world. Athias has also survived the world but is the only surviving human without any superpower. The story takes a turn when the human colony is attached and all the surviving humans are taken as captive. What will Athias do to get his brother and friends out of captivity is for all of you to find out. The story is really gripping and the plot is unique. I was completely hooked on while reading and just could not put it down. There are so many unexpected twists and turns which added an element of surprise.
Author: Amritansh Dayal Genre: Fantasy, Psychological thriller Publisher: Notion Press Pages: 290 Available in: Paperback and e-book New World Reapers is the story of 4 friends in which 3 of them have blessed with superpowers and their leader is an ordinary human being. The story begins in a time where the earth has been struck with an apocalypse and after the destruction has left the humans transformed into mutants and shadows except the protagonist Athias Dawn, the one without a superpower. Kudos to Amritansh Dayal. This teenage author has penned down a thriller filled with twists and turns at every point. The author has a nice imagination but the storyline wasn’t that good. The book needs a lot of work on the narrative. The story has ended with a cliffhanger and I hope that the mistakes made in this book will be rectified in the sequel filled with mystery and much more.
The plot was simple and the characters were uniquely written. It is an interesting science fiction novel which takes the reader to a new world. The narration and the setting of the book made it feel like a video game. The imagination and fantasy is out of the box. . The story felt quite stretched out at times and the reader is thrust into a whole new and unimaginable world. Too much information and facts presented and the frequently changing perspective of the story made it quite confusing at times. The whole idea of the book is quite interesting and unique but the fantasy went quite overboard at certain points and the narration wasn't able to keep up the pace. All in all, this was a book which I didn't enjoy much probably because science fiction isn't quite my thing. I would definitely recommend this book to readers looking for a nice science fiction novel with a satisfactory plot..
Each chapter in this book is told from the perspective of a different character. That makes it more interesting. Fantasy fiction is not generally my genre of choice. I started reading this manuscript after delaying as much as I could. But once I started reading it, I got totally engrossed in it and couldn't leave it without finishing! To the first time reader, it appears as a story. To the deep reader, it reveals practical, as well as, spiritual lessons! And, so also to a repeat reader! The novel reveals different lessons for readers in different age groups. While the novel finishes, the story continues. There is no end to this story. Obviously, there is a sequel to it. Waiting for it eagerly to know how each character develops and evolves further!
So basically , it's a story of four friends of whom three had superpowers and one doesn't bit that not stop him . He overcome all the outcomes through his practice and willpower and become helpful in every way and eventually outshines all three friends who had superpowers. What I don't like is the PROLOGUE is too long for my liking . This book took me full 3 weeks to just finish it , why it's because I lost interest everytime . I mean yeah I like fantasy , superpower a lot but no I can't read this book even for 10 minute long . The story is too slow , like toooo slow. The story don't have any base it needs lot of editing and correction and a short prologue.
Just as the title suggests this story is about new beginnings. It starts with an apocalypse of world which does not only wipes out humanity but also gives the surviving humanity super powers, and wait that isn’t the only thing that happens, the other humans are now supposedly transformed into shadows and mutants, both despicable creatures. There isn’t much of humanity left but they are trying their best to survive in this post-apocaliptic world. Athias Dawn, along with his other two friends and his brother seems to be among the few who survived. However he is the only one in the whole humanity who is without any superpowers. But that does not stop him from defeating neither shadows nor mutants. But again humanity is brutally razed to the ground when a large number of them comes and attacks the small makeshift colony the remaining survivors have built up. This time not only the army of mutants massacared the army of humans but also took all alive fighters as captives. Now Athias is left to retrieve not only his comrades but also his friends and brothers and have a score to settle with the mutant who killed him along with the coward general who left the human army to die in the battlefield. An adventure story with twists of psychological thriller and filled with more actions than conversations. A perfect story for those in love with a YA Sci-fi with action thrown in the mix. There are some loopholes and some places needs a bit more details and clarifications but otherwise it is a good book. The fact there this book is filled with twists keeps the reader on their toes. My personal favourite is the twist related mutants. The characters are quite good and Athias seems like a hero but he is actually a hero with a twisted psyche. Most of his behaviours are vague and ambiguous. He is impassive, cold, emotionless and has the ability and heartlessness to manipulate someone to suit his own needs, however at the same time he seems caring, compassionate and selfless to the point of selfharm. He is such a complex character that his behaviour contrasts sharply with his words. Other characters in the story is pretty simple compared to him. Infact it would have been great if the author included more complex characters. The plot is actually very simple but the unseen twists and character development makes the plot very interesting ,indeed. Overall I would say that it is worth giving a chance.
The cover is nice, and gives insight to the story but the editing could have helped this book to get a notch up.
This book is something in between science fiction and fantasy. Four friends land in a no man's land only to discover the secret superpowers they have inhabited.
The narration is not guided well with the storyline and that's the main drawback of this book. Imagination of the author is nice but a sharp nib editing and a good narration could have helped it better.
