I really enjoyed the stories, each one felt like an episode of TNG. The art was not spectacular. It threw me out of the story a couple of times but for the most part, it's fair. The dialogue was good and really sounded like the characters we know and love. There was one use of the word bogus I found odd. I had a little trouble imagining Captain Jean Luc Picard using the word bogus, but who knows how bogus will be used in the future. My interpretation might be totally bogus.
Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Battle Within is the second installment of Titan Books’ series of classic TNG comics. Featuring reprints of issues 7-12 of DC’s run, Data is abducted by a group of marauders, Dr. Crusher is stricken with a fatal disease, and Captain Picard is court-martialed after the Enterprise is reported to have destroyed a Federation ship. The first two story arcs are fairly well-done, but the court-martial plot is infuriatingly dumb. Still, the artwork is impressive; having a strong resemblance to the actors and a penchant for dynamic action scenes. Additionally, the writers incorporate and explore some of the more interesting minor characters from the early seasons of the series (such as JAG officer Phillipa Louvois); which helps the comics to feel in continuity with the television show. And as an extra bonus, Titan Books includes rare interviews with TNG cast members Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis. A comic collection that fans are sure to enjoy, Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Battle Within is action-pack and full of adventure.
