Scottlyn Rich is sixty-seven days from her wedding to Grant Weber. When the conversation she hoped would bring reconciliation with her estranged father turns to disaster, she is left adrift and feeling more orphaned than ever. Until her mother walks through the door.
Grant Weber has spent two years earning Scottlyn’s trust. He can’t believe how easily she’s willing to accept her mom’s excuses about where she’s been for the past seventeen years. There’s something off about Jocelyn Rich and he’s determined to find answers even if it costs him his engagement to Scottlyn.
Will Scottlyn allow deception to derail her future, or will she take hold of wisdom and realize that her life truly is all about Mercie?
Small-town Oklahoma and the friendships they produce are embedded in Sharon Srock’s heart. After spending her first fifteen years on the move, living in fourteen homes and attending thirteen schools, she landed in a tiny central Oklahoma community and made it her own. As someone who’s been blessed to be a part of the same hometown church for more than five decades, Sharon writes stories of hope built from her own unique perspective—stories that demonstrate a sisterhood formed not by blood but by heart, where ordinary women are able to do extraordinary things thanks to the friends who surround them and the faith that pulls them through. Sharon still lives in the middle of nowhere, Oklahoma, with her husband and three very large dogs. When she isn’t writing, she loves to read, cook, and travel. One of these days, she’s going to figure out how to do all three at the same time.
Third book in this series and I think this may have been my favorite.
Scottlyn is getting married but she’s still quite naïve. She wants to see the best in everyone and is upset when Grant or Diana speak truth about people, like her father, who basically threw her away.
But God works His will in her life showing her truth, whether she wants to hear it or not.
I love the faith aspect in each of these stories. Clean and worth the read.
There was a bit more mystery in this story, and I wanted to shake Scottlyn a few times and talk some sense into her head, but at the same time, I could understand her feelings. I really liked Grant! What he had to deal with was hard, but he did it so well. The one thing I didn't like, was that it ended. I didn't want it to end! I wanted to keep reading about Scottlyn, Grant, Mercie and the rest of these wonderful characters.
As the 3rd in this series opens, Scottlyn is getting ready to marry. However, it still is a bit of a bumpy road as Scottlyn's mother shows up. But wait....how this plays out is what drives this story line and it is super.
Series: The Mercie, #3 Format: Kindle e-book Challenge Prompt: CNL's #32 of 50 - "that includes more than 2 POVs" (I included #2 under this prompt as well.)
Book #18 of 2025: I enjoyed the series prior but I found myself frustrated with this concluding e-book. It said 130 pages yet it ended before 90. That's misleading. Promotions of other books aren't part of the story.
It felt as though Scottlyn went backward in this book. For a very smart and perceptive young woman, who had been through a lot, fell for an obvious scam hook, line, and sinker.
I understand that people want to know where they came from but it was DIANA that was there for her. She was going to ask the father who kicked her out of the house to walk her down the aisle? Regardless of any changes he may have possibly made, DIANA was the one who was there for her. Then she turns around and practically alienates her future husband and was rather irresponsible and immature. The two people who were there for her more than anyone else were just cast aside for parents that weren't there for her.
I guess this book brought a few letdowns to mind regarding the time jumps between each mini novella. This would have been better as one book with the information and major parts included.
- Readers missed Brad's parents becoming a part of the picture and Penny's mental health turnaround - Missed her time in college thus far - Missed almost all of the dating relationship and engagement between her and Grant - We miss almost all of the actual wedding ceremony
As a reader, I am being honest in saying that it was disappointing.
After three years, it looked like Scottlynne would get a chance to repair the relationship with her father before her wedding. But before that could happen, her father died. Drowning in grief, she was astounded when her mom who had abandoned her as a baby showed up at her father's funeral. She had a heart wrenching story about where she had been for the last 17 years and why she couldn't contact them. After the attorney confirmed that it was indeed her mother, Scottlynne was just happy to be reunited with her mother but felt a bit uneasy when her mother was a bit cold to Mercie. Everyone warned her to be on her guard but she was too caught up in finally having her mother there that she missed some of the red flags. Good thing that God and her friends that truly loved her were watching out for her. This was such a great series!
I loved all three books with Scottlyn,Mercie,Diana and Grant mainly Scottlyn she is a true blessing of how God works in us all.and precious Mercie she done a amazing job loving her unconditionally even with the situation of the rape.Diana be the mother she needed.and her needing them Grant being that special blessing to make they're life complete all through the grace of God.they struggles made them stronger through they special love.I would recommend these books to everyone and there was nothing I didn't like because God turn something ugly into something beautiful Mercie.good job Sharon Srock keep up the good work.can't wait for your next book
A great finish to this Novella trilogy. Characters are well-developed, story moves along quickly and although a beautiful, sweet story in many ways, life is real, not everything is honey and roses, but God is good, all the time. As I read this, I wondered how the author was going to work this out, but she did, and it had a finish with some twists and turns. I liked the use of Joshua 9 - for teaching young Scottlyn that things are not always what they seem to be.
A good read with some great lessons for all of us.
I thoroughly enjoyed the final book in this series. It took a twist I didn't expect which made for a very satisfying ending.one suggestion... There needs to be a The End at the end I couldn't tell that the story had ended until I realized what I was reading was the beginning of another book.
I read the first book because I got it free . I loved it I brought the other two. A wonderful story of how we react to bad things when we listen for God. He always has a plan for us. Loved all 3 books. They are a must read. I laughed and I cried. It just reminded me what an awesome God we serve.
In this book you will read about the death of a parent, a dishonest person trying to take advantage of a grieving child. Scottlyn, Mercie and Grant’s story will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. I had the honor to review this book for the author.
The Mercie Collection by Sharon Srock are a well-written Christian novella with a pinch of suspense. Faith in God runs through the story like a red thread. It is a faith-building story with great characters you get to know well. The story is heartwarming but definitely touching. A great series to read.
This collection is all about Mercie! - For Mercie's Sake - Begging for Mercie - All About Mercie Scottlyn Rich’s story has it all – tragedy, grief, heartbreak, forgiveness, hope, love, and MERCY! I really enjoyed listening to this collection of stories.
This is book three of this series and it is very inspirational story Scott Lynn is about to marry and then her father dies and a woman appears claiming to be her mother She is confused but soon learns the truth A good story
The best way I can describe this you. Also, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. God's got you through everything. You are surrounded by his love, and he will send the special people on earth you need to love you.
Will Scottlyn's desire for a mother put her in the middle of a scam? She learns a lot in this story about trusting God and using His discernment. Very well done!
All About Mercie is the third book in the series. Another beautifully written story. This one had me feel, with all the drama unfolding, that it would make a great movie adaptation.
All about Mercie, written by Sharon Srock, is the third book in the Mercie Series, and gives us yet another great view of what is going on with Scottlyn and Mercie. Oh my, it was heart wrenching to read! Scottlyn is just about 2 months from her marriage to Grant and her estranged father calls her to meet with her for dinner, but before she can meet him she receives a call from the emergency room that he has had a medical emergency. Can Scottlyn truly deal with all of the issues as a result of that call from the emergency room? She has to deal with so much, but she’s just 20 years old and is she wise enough to evaluate the emotional issues to see the truth of what is right before her. At points I had tears in my eyes for this dear girl that has gone through so much to get to this point in her life. Can she truly look at the situation and see it for what it is or will emotions take over and hurt her once again. I just love this series! Recommended read! I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.
All About Mercie, a sequel in the Mercie series by Sharon Srock is a story of new beginnings, family and faith in a God who is continually at work in His children’s lives. Scottlyn, young single mother to three-year-old Mercie is planning her wedding and all of a sudden things begin to happen that send her reeling, things she has no control over. A phone call from her estranged father sets the stage for the past to perhaps shatter all she has worked at recovering these past few years. The author brings some twists to her plot that keep the reader wondering and turning pages. The characters are engaging and real—some are sweet, some are sinister. The romance between Scottlyn and her betrothed is endearing but not without difficulty. Can they weather what the past has stirred up? Will deceit destroy Scottlyn’s world? This novella is short in length but long in the truth of God’s hand in the lives of those who put their trust in Him.
All about Mercie is the 3rd and final book in the Mercie Series. The first, For Mercie's Sake, was my introduction to this author and I immediately fell in love with the characters. In this final book, Scottlyn is planning her wedding and looking forward to reconciling her relationship with her father when her chances are cut short and he dies. Her mother, who abandoned her as a child, suddenly shows up and Scottlyn grasps at the chance to renew ties that she thought were severed. However, things are not always as they seem. Scottlyn's fiance tries to warn her against making a big mistake and things become very complicated. I loved this story and further glimpse into Scottlyn's and Mercie's lives. I felt that this was a great ending (beginning?) to their story.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review which I have given.
All About Mercie by Sharon Srock Mercie Series Book Three Scottlyn Rich should be enjoying these last few months as time closes in on her wedding. Choosing a dress, making wedding plans, just enjoying her three-year-old daughter, Mercie. But something doesn't feel right. It's not long before she finds out what that nagging feeling is.
Grant Weber just wants to protect Scottlyn. It's awfully hard to do when she puts blinders on and only sees and hears what she wants. Thankfully his love is strong enough to do what needs to be done. Finding the truth.
Sharon Srock's books are not always nice and cozy. They have a lot of real life situations in them. They do end with the happily-ever-after but the road is not well paved. It's well worn with plenty of potholes. This is a novella but packed full. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Sharon has so eloquently graced us with the 3rd book of The Mercie Series, All About Mercie. Just like the first 2, this story didn't disappoint. Scottlyn, the single mom to Mercie, brings us much courage in her story. She shows us that it's ok to be scared and continue to work towards your dreams. Even at the tender young age she is. Life is hard, especially for a single mom, and Scottlyn is the perfect example for girls of all ages to show us how to shine brightly for Him and continue working towards the goals you set for yourself. As life takes many hard rough roads for Scottlyn and her daughter, their story will keep you turning the pages and walking along with them. Thank you, Sharon, for this very heartfelt story!!!!
