If you are a senior-level executive, whether you are currently employed and content for the time being or employed but seeking to move on or already in transition, this book is for you. And it is for you if you are determined to take control of your career… not just for today or for a current transition but for the rest of your working life. Once you know what to do, momentum will be on your side. The days of long tenure are virtually over. The world moves too fast. Companies must evolve quickly to stay ahead, and that often leads to reorganizations that will impact you--or maybe they already have. The sooner you accept the fact that you are in transition--always--regardless of which side of the desk you are on, the sooner you can take control of your career. Perhaps you’ve experienced this all-too-common Candidates spend hours, often days, agonizing over their resume and preparing for an interview only to quickly discover that the people who are conducting the interview are not prepared at all and often have not even read the resume! Perhaps even more egregious, the candidate is made to feel powerless—-like they have nothing to offer (they’re somehow the enemy… the bad guy in the black hat) and the company holds all the cards. What you will find in this book is practical information and specific action steps that you can take immediately to allow you to avoid the frustration and discouragement that is unfortunately common in today’s hiring practices. If you follow the strategy and steps outlined in this book and make a commitment to never again leave the fate of your career in the hands of anyone else, you will secure your financial future and BULLETPROOF YOUR CAREER...for LIFE.

Patricia’s TEDx talk http://bit.ly/TheGigEconomyTEDxtalk was a wake-up call for corporate executives, urging them to stop living in complacency and denial and to disrupt themselves before they are disrupted. Her advice — “think and act like a gigger.”
I found this book via Patricia's weekly Zoom calls designed to help professionals in career transition. Her no-nonsense approach and guidance was helpful. I particularly appreciate the advice on establishing and maintaining a positive mindset as well as the networking tips. I plan to nurture my network for the long haul. In today's gig economy - you never know when you're gonna be on the hunt for your next ideal role. This book and these tactics help you stay in the drivers seat.
This isn’t rocket science and it was mostly directed at executive searches despite much of the information benefit all career searches..it’s pretty much old information
This book is a must read for those who want to optimize their career.
This book is a must read for those who want to optimize their career. Pat has a wealth of knowledge in career search, leadership and personal development, and shares her wisdom in a practical, high impact and inspiring way. She helps equip executive job seekers with the right tools and MINDSET to optimize our job search and careers – hopefully for life. Pat reminds us that the game has changed and no job is secure - we must always embrace a "CEO of Me" mentality in managing our career. I've found this book invaluable as an executive job seeker, but in my humble opinion, this book should be required reading for anyone on a career search journey.
This is my second time reading the book and doing the worksheets. Key takeaways remained the same: clarity in who you are and what you want is integral to success, networking is how you will find your next role, you must know your personal brand and be able to tell your work story to stand out, and change in your career is inevitable so don’t become complacent. The worksheets, while some links were broken or outdated, still provided a great outline for a blueprint and were helpful getting organized. I appreciated the insights and have implemented many of Pat’s suggestions to my current job search.
I wish I would have had this information at the start of my career instead of half way through. Thank goodness I plan to work another 20+ years so I can really use the guidance given in this short (<200 pages), easy to read book. Pat provides a step by step approach to bulletproofing your career no matter if you are just starting out, in transition or nicely settled into a position. She shifted my mindset to manage my entire career, not just my next position. She is passionate, well spoken, and highly qualified. I highly recommend this book and her online sessions now. - Tina Marie Baugh - #ClarityDeliversResults
I truly wish I had known about and read this book a year ago. I have wasted a lot of time and energy doing things the wrong way, or putting my eggs in one basket and slowly losing confidence in myself and what I have to offer. This book has given me the tools and knowledge to move forward in a productive and defined manner. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a job or in transition. College graduates should read this as well.
