This book is a collection of 5 sections in the Multiverse urban fantasy series, a romantic and contemporary fantasy set in Southeast Asia. It is full of non-stop adventure with many twists and turns. The complete set consists of: (I.) Crossroad, (II.) New World, (III.) The Summoner, (IV.) The Keeper, and (V.) The One. Below is a review of the CROSSROAD section as an example of what is hinted at in this amazing set.
Zin, Lyla’s personal robot, came to ask her opinion on a mermaid outfit he was wearing. She didn’t like it and he suggested other possibilities, also without success since she was distracted at the time with her work. Concentrating on the back end of her computer program — the engine of the entire robotic system -- she thought she saw a shadow like a dark cloud move across the screen. Then her hands tingled and a stabbing pain went to her head. When Zin announced she had a visitor, she spun around and aimed her laser weapon his way. Michael Fraser handed her his Pass granting him access to all stations and began to relate his reason for travelling to her.
Michael told Lyla that he was sent from the past in Iilos where it was suspected that one of her AI programs would create unstoppable creatures that would break through their borders. He was told the destructive program was a “shadow”. Could this have been what Lyla herself had observed in her program? Would this “shadow” truly cause the chaos and ruin that Michael’s simulation forecast program predicted? And if so, could she stop it when she wasn’t even sure how to find it?
Allow this series to take you to the multiverse for a fascinating look at past, present, and future. I love D.N. Leo’s Multiverse with its crazy quilt of sci-fi technology, magic, fantasy and the paranormal. Anything is possible there and this author takes full advantage of her creation. The Soul of Ashes series is a sequel series to prior tales in the Multiverse Collection. For those who have read the prior stories by D.N. Leo, it’s leads Layla (daughter of Ciaran, one of my favorite fictional characters) and Michael (a character who appears in other books and who we find is so very much more than what’s first seen) will be very familiar. Now in this single Complete Series box set we get both wonderful back stories about Layla and her brother Gale, and about Michael and his father Cole, and a rousing adventure with Fire magic, dragons, witches and so much more. There’s great evil (hello Shadow), great supporting cast members (hello Jaxper, Caedmon and others) and superb story-telling. You don’t need to have read the other Multiverse Collection series to thoroughly enjoy the stories in this boxset but they’re so wonderful I urge you to do so anyway, and doing so will add an extra layer of enjoyment to these stories. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - this boxset definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the boxset is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

This is an excellent addition to the multiverse series! The King of Eudaiz' daughter Lyla is all grown up and caught up in more intrigue that takes her to Earth, along with Michael, a recurring character from King Ciaran's exploits on Earth in the past. And soon to be Lyla's romantic interest. Great storytelling with lots of action.

This is an excellent collection of books. This also saves the reader from buying each individually and once you start this intriguing series you will not want to stop till you've read them all! This is an Urban Fantasy filled with non-stop action and adventure, and also romance. What a great way to spend a weekend indulging yourself.

Soul of Ashes by D.N. Leo is an awesome story to read. D.N.Leo is one of my favorite authors cause she writes stories that come to life instead of just reading it. I am so glad I read this and I highy recommend this to everyone.

I am new to such fantasy stories and this series is really a good series to start on. This has everything. Action, adventure and maybe some romance. I could not put this down. Very engaging with heart-stopping adventure. I know others will enjoy it as I have.

The characters of the multiverse are fascinating and the story lines intriguing. Lyla and Caedmon are most definitely a dynamic set of twins, and each stands strongly in their own gifts. Each of their story lines I read through in a day. I started reading and did not stop until I was done reading Soul of Ashes: The Complete Series in its entirety. I look forward to what's next for these characters of the multiverse.

This was not a good series, and I probably wouldn’t have kept listening to it if I hadn’t had only one bottle left on hoopla
