As a cadet with the Arizona Highway Patrol, Hui-Chien got hands-on experience and some street-cred with the officers while she worked toward a degree in Criminal Justice. Homicide Detective was her goal—until a blistering hot August day when a routine dispatch to a traffic accident changed her life forever. News of the abduction hit Detective Fallon Brooks hard. However, Brooks had troubles of his own—he was out on leave due to an injury suffered during an incident involving the shooting death of an unarmed black man, an incident that had him in hot water with the LAPD. Nonetheless, the thought of the young Asian woman at the mercy of two convicted murders—one a child molester—shook him to his core. Brooks puts his conflict with the department and his current status as pariah of the force aside, and sets out on a desperate mission to find Hui-Chien. A romantic suspense-thriller packed with twists and turns and a touch of erotic spice!

A wonderful work of fiction that looks at relationships and social injustices. Well developed characters and plot line. Issues of discrimination and weaknesses in law enforcement. Formation of trust and commitment. Fiction but is it really possible?
Two prisoners escape when the prison van turns over on the Arizona highway. They take Hui Chien Song a hostage. Song, an exchange student is studying criminal justice in hopes of becoming a homicide detective. Gor practical experience she is riding patrol with the Arizona Highway Patrol. Her unit responds to the accident report, putting her in harms way.
The story follows her captivity and Detective Fallon Brooks who wants to rescue her. Brooks partner shot an unarmed black man and the same bullet wounded him. His report clearly states the black man was unarmed and his boss wants him to change his statement. Meantime, Hui Chien is falling for one of her abductors, Hasan Khan, who is running from a murder conviction of his previous girlfriend.
There are several sex scenes, as well as some profanity in the book, but the plot and characterization is topnotch, and there are several twists that are unexpected. Plus, we have a good cop and bad cop situation. The bad cop that plants evidence to convict. The good cop that plants evidence to prove the opposite when he knows the original evidence was planted by the bad cop. I couldn’t put the book down, as it kept my interest throughout, and the ending was certainly a surprise. Highly recommended.
Hologram: The Abduction of Hui-Chien Song, by Nancy Miller is the best in the series. I loved all three books, but this last was my favorite. Once again, Nancy takes us on a wild ride full of twists, turns, mystery, and intrigue with a good dose of insanity in the mix. We are introduced to a few new characters, and we meet again some of our favorites from the two previous books.
Hui-Chien comes alive as a smart, street-wise young officer ready to tackle the world. Detective Brooks faces issues of officer loyalty and racism along with his feelings for Samantha. The topic of racism is particularly relevant today, and I appreciated how it was handled by Ms. Miller. I like books with dynamic characters, and this book did not disappoint. The romantic entanglements were especially fun. You won’t be able to put this book down! Nancy, please tell us this isn’t your last book, and that you will write more in the future?
The author lays out a great story for us. This is in the best tradition of cops and mystery. There is as bad cop, there is unfairly justice, and a cop who fights for everything to be right. There is plenty of action but not as gun fights. There is a trail of evidence, but obscured by deceit. This is a hard book to put down. There is romance, but more as some very explicit sex scenes than the real true love you hoped for and the author hinted at.
This is a read which will keep you going, even if you wonder why the main characters do some of the stupid things they do.
Pick up this book because I have a similar Chinese name with the girl been abducted. It caught my eyes and immediately want to read it, Took me 3-4 days to finish the book. I must say it did not disappointed me. Great story and easy to read. Only the ending seems too simple, real world should be more complicated.
This story was nothing like I expected it to be. It is a very interesting and exciting kidnapping story. It has a lot of things going on in the background that make the story very intriguing.
Awesome read, characters and storyline! Once I got started I couldn’t stop reading. Couple fugitives on the run with cops after them. Murder, mystery, and romance makes one awesome read! A definite must read!!!
Love this series. This one was definitely enlightening. Love the romantic thread through the story. Loved the happy ending as the main characters ride off into the sunset. Can't wait to read more from this author.
This is the only book of the series I have read, but found that it works great as a stand-alone story. I found the characters well-described and believable and the various scenes realistic, although the main character has a strange quirk resulting from a cutting-edge technological implant designed to help him recover from an injury. That adds a sci-fi aspect to the story but does contribute successfully to the plot. I found this to be a thoroughly enjoyable book that kept me flipping through the (digital) pages!
It's an awesome thriller. With unexpected twists and turns, the book is certainly a winner. I loved it. Never expected such a wonderful climax. Great book.
Again, a sharp-witted, shrewd, and wildly complex plot from Nancy Miller. I read the first book in this series and loved it for the hard edged story and well thought out characters. This one doesn't disappoint in its complexity. Sexy, slick and on edge situations keep the reader engaged.
I’m only at 2% and already throwing the f word in. I don’t do profanity. Get a vocabulary and learn to write and you won’t need to fill a book with profanities. Wish someone else had mentioned this and saved me time and a wasted download. Deleted!
GREAT! I LIKED HOW THIS ONE PLAYED OUT, IT LEFT ROOM FOR A POSSIBLE BK#4??? I ENJOYED ALL OF THEM, THE STORY LINE AND CHARACTERS WERE AWESOME. MY ONLY QUESTION IS WHY SO MANY PUFFT’s? LOL! ;D
This book reeled me in with a decent plot and interesting characters the first few chapters. Before I knew it, it turned into fictionary porn, and I ended up hating that I ever started it. I read it to the end, but I regret ever opening it. It's garbage. I gave it 2 stars because it could have had potential, and the storyline was ok.
Nancy Miller, is a new author in my library and I find her to be a worthy storyteller. The Brooks character has a intriguing chemistry between being a good cope or a misunderstood one. He isn't described as handsome . But, find him to be exquisitely sexy.
But, author needed to research a little. There is no Navajo reservation in the location she placed it, and doesn't everyone know the airport in Phoenix is Sky Harbor? And maybe the days when womanizers are charming is over.
I was hoping this would be a good book, but it turned out to be a great book instead. You kept my interest throughout and I could hardly put the book down.It is one of the best books I have read.I will be reading more of this author’s books.
Really really good book, gripping! Had to stay up to finish reading it. I just couldn't see how it could end okay for anybody, but with a few "coincidences" I got to breathe again. Good characters, interesting ways to approach/deal with adversity, and be flexible when necessary.
