Rate this book

One woman in danger. Five men who will do anything to protect her. One night that changes their lives forever . . .

Mia Harper thinks having a personal security detail is overkill. The attempt on her life wasn’t that big a deal, and she’s always prided herself on being an independent woman. But when five sexy, ex-military men show up at her door, she isn’t sure which is more dangerous. Taking her chances with the stalker who attacked her, or staying under the constant watch—and hot bodies—of her guards.

Mia’s never been good at limiting her desires. Desires that soon fuel wild fantasies about being with five men at once. But just as things heat up between them, her attacker brings a heat of his own.

With Mia’s life, and the men’s careers, on the line, the five of them pull out all the stops to save her. But will they be in time to rescue the woman all of them have fallen for?

Rescued By Five is a Reverse Harem Romantic Suspense with an extremely high heat level. If you like a full-figured, strong, sassy heroine who doesn't have to choose between her obscenely gorgeous, loyal men, then this book is for you.

This was no perfect romance by any means but I highly enjoyed it. I loved the fact that the heroine was no virgin and more of a very sexual being that held her head up high and was proud. The second thing that I really enjoyed was that one of the guys where asexual and it wasn't a shrugged off fast but got well worked in the storyline and explored. It was also as smutty and ridiculous as expected from a story like this with tension and some thiller aspects thrown in. But I wasn't a fan how easily the thriller aspect was resolved.

Where to start with this book….. Well I guess with the fact that I made it 60% through this book and I just couldn’t continue. I hated the characters. Not all, but many of them. Start with Mia. She is a self-centered, spoiled little rich girl who’s apparently used to getting what she wants or she throws a hissy fit. Now this is completely contrary to what she says about herself. According to her she’s this independent woman who doesn’t need anything from her daddy. But when the men in her life don’t fall into line she likes to throw tears and guilt tactics at them. An example of this. Micah (who comes off as a complete jack add and quite frankly is) tells her his deep dark secret about himself. Within like 2 paragraphs she completely turns it around and makes it all about her, not his problems or his needs/wants or lack thereof but about her

“Fuck you, Micah Miller. I’ve loved you since I was a little girl. And now, finally, after all this time, you kiss me like you mean it, then tell me you don’t want me. That you don’t even think about wanting me. That I can’t touch you, or want you the way I do. Then you accuse me of not giving a shit? Fuck. You.”

Well yeah he accused you of not giving a shit bc you don’t. You only care about how it affects you as is obvious in the scene to follow. Granted she does tell him he doesn’t have to if he doesn’t want to (which she tells all the guys) but in my eyes she’s just a master manipulator. Using her emotions and there’s against them to get what she ultimately wants.
Another great example of this is the twins. Who I also don’t like. They follow Mia around like little puppy dogs begging for any scrape of affection she gives them. At one point the twins tell her they only want her to be with them but they couldn’t do that to her, not if she really wanted the other guys. And of course she does I mean it’s an RH right. Yet they too act like jealous little school boys by constantly getting in fights with the other guys.
And that is the crux of my problem with this book. One of the things I enjoy most about RH is the relationships they all have with one another, especially the men. Whether it be a brotherhood or something a little more. I thought with this book it would be a brotherhood. I mean they come into it that way. Having served together, saved each other’s lives. They trust each other to protect their backs. Then this woman comes crashing into their lives and instead of it being a brotherhood they are constantly fighting. All of them fighting over a women who only thinks about herself. When frankly I think their friendship and relationship was more important then getting into anything with Mia.

And another thing. The plot you ask, what plot. 55% through the book and the ONLY thing that has happened is her initial attack (from Like chapter 1) and her trying to sleep with all the guys. That’s it. No story line, no suspense, no plot. I dunno maybe one picks up again 70% through the book 🤷‍♀️

Beautiful ménage with a great plot to support them

Great storyline, thought I knew where they were headed and loved the twist. Glad they kept one secret to deal with just between Mia and Ronan. The cohesiveness of the guys with Mia was written beautifully.
