I perform CPR on history & breathe life into the past...

Hello and welcome! After obtaining my Art History degree from UMASS Dartmouth in 2000, I was hired by an American university to coordinate educational programs throughout Italy. In 2007, I settled in Florence to work as a museum guide. I've been a full-time author since my first book (SABINA) hit #1 in 2014.

My specialty is historical fiction set in Italy, although I do write different genres. I'm a globetrotter and do my utmost to visit every city and historical site mentioned in my novels in order to provide readers with vibrant descriptions.

I FINALLY finished this book for book club! If it wasn’t for book club & if I hadn’t already spent so much time reading it, I wouldn’t have finished it. It could have been decent - the setting of the Salem Witch Trials, especially this time of year, was interesting. But the story was weird & I didn’t like the writing & I was just generally not a fan.

I enjoyed the narration of Megan Evans, you can hear the worry, the fear and hope.

This story is set in the Salem Witch Trials in the late 16th century. We see it from the perspective of an orphan girl who is branded by the town as a changeling.
Lilly has her own journey. The Hammer, the witch hunter comes into town. It is then that Lilly finds out about her secret. She learns his secret as well. Can Lilly protect herself and mother from the demons and not be accused of witchcraft? With so many secrets and accusations of who is a witch. And everyone living in fear of being hung.

A Fascinating Book

A different story regarding the Salem Witch Trials in the late 16th century. The story is told from the perspective of an orphan girl who is branded by the town as a changeling. As always, the author weaves a riveting story with rich characters in her easy style.

Ends way too abruptly. Very disappointed because over all I like her writing style.

Beware

Although written very well, the subject matter can be very unsettling. Really enjoyed the first half of the story, the second half gets into demons ,warlocks, witches, voodoo, ect... Very unrealistic. I actually felt a bit wrong in reading about such things, especially when they're portrayed in a positive light. Good does concur evil, but using characters from another realm.
