This is an excellent resource for those who want a more diverse slice of the Mythology pie. There comes a time when classical myth (Greco-Roman) just isn't doing it for you, lol. I love the structure and organization of the text and it is truly great work! Nice resource for writers too who want to write mythologically based works....and then find themselves bogged down in the old worn out world of Greece and Rome...wanting to be original and then not having an information source.
A really good reference guide to the gods of the lesser known mythologies and religions, meaning from cultures except the Greeks and the Romans.[return]If you want to know something about a Slavic or Basque god for example, this is the book to turn to.
