It seems that Elysio, the mysterious friend of the five heroes, is in fact the famous dark Sorcerer Darkhell! Having lost his memory however, Elysio refuses to be believe that he is connected with such a figure of cruelty. But the "Zar-ikos" - demonic plant men - have decided otherwise and intend to refresh his memory. Will the Legendaries manage to prevent it?

The story continues, but not necessarily as expected. Instead of finding the Crescia Stone, they are first captured by the Zar-ikos, demonic plant-humans. What's more, the Zar-ikos tell Élysio that they have a potion which will give him back his memory. Will he drink it? Or will the Legendaries take it from him, and save him from the Zar-ikos and from himself?
Then, the search for the Crescia stone continues: dragonmen take the Legendaries to an island, where they must pass dangerous trials - deadly ones - to confront the Guardian of the Stones of Alysia. Will they succeed? What will it cost them?
Parviendront-ils? Quel sera le coût?
This second volume in the 'Les Legendaires' series is still very heavy on the set-up side, but remains entertaining nonetheless. Again the narrative isn't exactly supremely original, but there isn't much room to develop it much with so much exposition still happening. As a BD it's still rater short as compared to other forms of reading, so it doesn't test the patience too much - yet -; but I don't see that sentiment lasting if the story doesn't end up moving forward soon.
Perhaps it's better to read the actual French volumes, instead of the Dutch translations.. I'm not really satisfied with the content of the dialogues, it seems a bit over exagerated at times.. Probably the original French won't have that.. On the other hand the story wasn't all that exciting.. Perhaps it's also a bit out of my age range? :) Let's see what the next volume will bring..
3.5* Reread Not my favorite volume, this one felt kind of surface level and childish but i still love the characters and i just know it's gonna get so good
