Umbrella: The exhibition

Rate this book
Printed in Greek language. The present art collection entitled "Umbrella" comprises 42 artworks of Greek visual artist, Pavlos Moci, of which 41 are acrylic paintings and 1 illuminated sculpture, made of bronze and stained glass. Each artwork has Greek titles besides English, because the artist requires to keep the authenticity of his native inspiration intact. Furthermore, the artworks are listed in chronological order based on the year of creation. In particular, the starting point was in 1999 when the artist met a ragamuffin old man begging on the street. The face and the glance of that helpless man resting beneath a weary Umbrella hold the attention of the artist in a creative manner. Since then and for many years later, the artist worked in depth that experience. In the years 2016 - 2017, this internal artistic search came into existence due to the current social changes observed in a global level, an evolution that defined the time period that artist chose to start this art collection. Additionally, backstage snapshots from this collection are included in the annex.

About the author

G. P. Moci

8 books1 follower
He started his career in the theater and thus he studied at the UoA (Faculty of Theater studies). The theater in the general and theatrical scenes became the starting point for his visual creations.

After a decade of active career as a visual artist, he deepens his understanding of art with a BA in the field of Fine Art & New Media at Middlesex University.

During that time he experimented with installation and mixed medium techniques. For the best part of his career, he creates his artworks in his atelier (Atelie-Moci, established in Athens) and experimented with all types of visual expression depicting human existence, separated and as a whole.

His artistic scope is exploratory, as he searches the boundaries of a simple line capable to express everything and nothing at all. In the last couple of years, he has expanded his means of expression through his first attempt as an indie filmmaker and poet. List of publications, Isabella, The love letter of Gerard Petén Mitten, A long verse of sorrow, Suicide of Tears, Fears of Hope.
