I'm not one of those people who knew from birth she was destined to become a writer. I always loved to read and throughout my childhood I could usually be found with a book in my hands. To the disgust of my friends, I even enjoyed creative writing assignments that made them all groan. But I had other dreams besides writing. I wanted to be an actress or a teacher or a lawyer.

Life took a different turn for me, though, when my mother made me take a journalism elective in high school (thanks, Mom!). I knew the first day that this was where I belonged.

After I graduated from college in journalism, I took a job at the local daily newspaper and I reveled in the challenge and the diversity of it. One day I could be interviewing the latest country music star, the next day I was writing about local motorcycle gangs or interviewing an award-winning scientist.

Through it all -- through the natural progression of my career from reporter to editor -- I wrote stories in my head. Not just any stories, either, but romances, the kind of books I have devoured since junior high school, with tales about real people going through the trials and tribulations of life until they find deep and lasting love.

I had no idea how to put these people on paper, but knew I had to try -- their stories were too compelling for me to ignore. I sold my first book in 1995 and now, more than 30 books later, I've come to love everything about writing, from the click of the computer keys under my fingers to the "that's-it!" feeling I get when a story is flowing.

I write full-time now (well, as full-time as I can manage juggling my kids!) amid the raw beauty of the northern Utah mountains.

Even though I might not have dreamed of being a writer when I was younger, now I simply can't imagine my life any other way.

I love to hear from readers. You can reach me at my email address, raeannethayne@gmail.com

Olivia Lambert decides to go on her honeymoon to Costa Rica alone after she calls off her wedding to her cheating fiancé. On the first day of her trip after a day on the beach, out of the jungle comes a machete wielding (and very handsome) man, Ren Galvez. He kidnaps Olivia claiming it’s for her protection, saying that he is protecting her from a killer, which turns out to be true. Olivia and Ren then make their daring escape through the rainforest as they find themselves drawing closer together.

This was a very entertaining jungle adventure/romance. I loved the setting in the Costa Rica rainforest. The sights and sounds of the rainforest were described in such vivid detail I felt as though I was there. The story was fast-paced and action packed, and the lead characters were very likable. A fun, exciting, hard-to-put-down story.

I’m always on the lookout for books with Indiana Jones or Romancing the Stone vibes and I’ve read quite a few this year. I really enjoyed this one!

The title is a bit misleading as I was concerned there would be cheating at first. Rather, the main character Olivia has left her fiancé after catching him cheating and decides to go on their honeymoon to Costa Rica alone, just treating it as a vacation. There she encounters Ren who ends up (sort of) kidnapping her to keep her safe from the villain of the story.

You are thrown right into the action practically from page 3, so I was definitely confused at first. However, you do get the details later and are able to put the pieces together. I loved the lush, tropical setting that was still fraught with dangers. Ren wasn’t my favorite male hero, but I still enjoyed following him and watching the two of them bond and become more comfortable with each other.

I would definitely recommend this one if you enjoy adventure romance.

The title is misleading; there is no honeymoon. The groom was caught in flagrante before the wedding, so the bride cancelled the wedding before the book even begins, and she goes on the trip that her ex-groom had scheduled for their wedding trip to Costa Rica. However, the ex was planning to marry her for her money, and to use the money to pay off gambling debts to the owner of the resort. The book is full of exciting adventures in the jungle as she tries to escape from a machete- wielding scientist and then from the resort owner who wants to hold her for ransom. A good "cure" for winter boredom.

A Exciting Story happening in Costa Rica, the character had to flee for their lives through a jungle after he witnessed a murder. It was a really enjoyable book to read you were not sure what would happen from one line to the next.

Great book - full of adventure & love. I highly recommend!!

While Ren is protecting the woman he just ran across, knowing if they don’t get off the island, they wont make it past the despicable owner of the island.

He may once thought of him as only an arrogant billionaire who had to own his own island. Yet he knew there was more to the charitable billionaire everyone thought him to be. Yet it was when he came across the blonde bikini clad woman and realizing what he knows now, he knows she must be the blonde “cream puff” Ren heard the owner of the island talking about earlier after shooting another woman out by the pool! Ren knows he has to get her and himself off the island if they want to live. Surely, she was visiting this island, surely she knows the type of man this billionaire recluse was? Right? So why, for the first time in 2-years does she make him feel things he hasn’t felt for any other woman he’s met? It must be the 👙! He’s just got a case of lust, but she keeps saying she was here on her honeymoon and he won’t touch another mans woman, no matter what she makes him feel!

She seems every bit the cream puff by the time he gets to his bungalow, but to her credit, he hasn’t really had the time to get to know her when he came across her path with a machete and grabbed her, tied her up, then jumped in the canoe to try and get off the island.

She finally start to relax once they were his home, and starts to realize he is who he says he is. By the time they rest for the night, He realizes that with the little time they’ve been together, she’s far from the cream puff he heard her referred to.

She may not have wanted to climb up the tree, even not mentioning it was because she was afraid of heights, but realizing it was their only option to get a decent nights rest. She just did it! He begins to understand her determination to help him get her to safety.

But it’s when he helps her take off her boots so they can dry that his respect for her grows, she has been walking in the boots he gave her, that had obviously been too small, but he’d been too blinded by grief for needing to use them to see they were too small for her. She never complained once, they were hurting her but just accepted that was what she had to endure to get out of the jungle. She’s obviously been in pain, he could tell as her socks had turned a mutated red color as they have been bleeding off and on for the last couple hours, he can’t believe she didn’t complain once!

She’s tough, doesn’t complain and doesn’t give up! And along the way, he also learns he’s not so lost in life to learn to love (again, you’ll have to decide on if it’s 1st true love or his 2nd chance at love! ). . .

Ren is too stubborn to ask her to give him a chance. She has been learning how to live her life finally for herself. How could he ask her to give all that up to give him, a turtle scientist in Costa Rico, a chance at love? She’s an heiress who lives in Texas, He’s the crazy turtle man who loves the water and can’t see leaving it anytime soon. He can’t bear to be the one to hold her back from opening her own restaurant!

While “Liv” learns there is more to her than being told she’s meek and worthless. She is definitely like her mother but she’s much like her father, even if he wouldn’t admit it. She learns she’s been allowing people her whole to tell her what she is and isn’t. And even though Ren is very awesome looking. He has a kind heart he doesn’t want people to see. She will definitely always remember her trip across the Costa Rican jungle and the hunk who saved her. Who also helped her to see she was a strong & diligent woman, who didn’t give up easy, and had dreams of opening her own restaurant. It’s In this journey, where she been shot at and chased, tied up and captured, that she, Olivia, for the first time in her life, was truly in love.

Are they willing to poke their hearts just enough to let the other one in or will they allow their own fears to hold them back from their happy ever after!!
