Having read several releases by Mr. Hopf which I found to be very entertaining, is the reason for purchasing this outstanding western adventure. Isaac, and his tag a long companion, Connor, certainly made the purchase worthwhile! Plenty of compassionate stories as well as enough gunfights to satisfy anyone's expectations! Too, there are several suspenseful episodes to what your appetite.
Definitely worthy of the five stars I awarded this exceptionally descriptive escapades from beginning to end. Great character selections, and the storylines successfully pacifys any reader's expectations. There is ongoing adventures that were perfectly suited each and every exciting episode. There were some significant heartwarming experiences, as well as some ongoing suspenseful episodes as well. I, as always, enjoyed Mr. Holf's outstanding display of the camaraderie between the good guys as well as his apparent research work, that justifys his entire story. I, without hesitation, recommend this compassionate, suspenseful and entertaining representation of our old American folklore that will certainly appease appetite from beginning to end!😯
I was looking forward to this book. Although I love Mr. Hopf's post apocalyptic fiction, I think this is his niche. Reading Westerns is like stepping back and reliving history. No spoilers from me. I enjoyed reading Isaac's story. A honorable and ethical man....until, but even then. But I did think Connor was a riot. I hope there will be another book following this just about the McCaethy brothers. Hint hint.
Quotes I liked. 1. “And what sort of diversion were you thinking?” “I’ll give you a hint, it starts with the letter B,” Isaac said. “Breasts!” Connor joked. 2. Isaac pledged he’d wake each day with purpose and go about making it as good as it could be, because if anyone knew about how life could shift in an instant....
GMH. has penned a Nevada mining western action adventure, which begins in New York City. A man is framed for a robbery he did not commit, after three years in prison he escapes. He heads west and when he arrives in Nevada he finds the woman he asked to marry him and her father who had him framed and put in prison. The woman denies him and her father tries to kill him. When they do he makes an alternate plan. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
A good story that fluctuates from love to sadness to hope to deep sadness to, finally, a new sunrise. This tale plays with your emotions as the reader thinks he has it all worked out. Not so. Twists and turns keep the suspense high. Just as the reader knows what is next, our protagonist sees a new trail. Challenging and emotional, it leaves us wanting more.
The book moved along and was exciting. I read it in two days and I think I would read it again. It was dramatic in its own way and intriguing also. I would preorder the next book but I have already preordered several others. I can't wait to read it!
This is a good read, lots of intrigue, double dealing and greed are in this story. The author has no real hero but covers a lot of things that are important to the characters.
