Wikipedia defines urban fiction as a literary genre set in a city landscape: however, the genre is as much defined by the socio-economic realities and culture of its characters as the urban setting. The tone for urban fiction is usually dark, focusing on the underside of city living. T'ann Marie took the definition of this genre literally. This book embodied the definition of urban fiction and gave me the nostalgia of when I originally started reading urban fiction books on the Kindle app. A St. Louis Dopeboy Mended My Heart had every element one would expect in an urban fiction read: drugs, murder, betrayal, multiple baby mommas, and its ghetto. "I was nothing short of pleasant with you, you were the one mad because you came in here picking out more items than you can afford. I was trying to compromise with you, but nah, you had to get ratchet. Well guess what? I got a ratchet side too biggie smalls!"
This story introduces us to Fragile (interesting name, right?). Fragile Banks is an around the way girl making a living by working at Family Dollar, her only flaw seems to be she's in love with a dopeboy. Chief seemed to be the man of Fragile's dreams, until he's killed. While attending his funeral she finds out his mom thinks she's his assistant. "'Well, I hope everything works out for you. I hope you find a job that pays you as well as my son did. I'm sure Gwalah informed you that we are shutting all of his businesses down and there will be no need for you.' She told Fragile and it felt as if her heart stopped beating. Teyanna along with Gwalah snapped their necks at Ms. Jefferson, wondering what the hell she was talking about." From that moment forward, Fragile's life seems to be in a downward spiral. More secrets are revealed and she's left wondering if she assessed her relationship with Chief accordingly.
Towards the end of the book Fragile meets Fatz, an unsuspecting rainbow after her storm. Fatz isn't her ideal man, but he's tied to the streets and Fragile can't resist a dopeboy. He's willing to step in and be the man that she needs. There's just one catch, he's tied to her past and she doesn't know it yet. When this story starts to unfold, we're left needing to read part two, but no worries, it's already out. Not only was this book good, but it was also funny as well. "'So, you gon keep playing with me bitch?' Myron snarled. 'Besides, my girl don't like titties, she got her own.' He reached out to a shirtless Chubbz, and fondled his man breasts. Chubbz swiftly smacked his hand away." If you're in need of a true urban fiction book, look no further. This book will do it for you!!

Loved it!!!!
The is my first read from this author and i must say it wont be my last. I loved Fatz and Chubbz. Fragile knows something aint right between Gwalah and Zaria. I love Chubbz and Teyanna together fu** Quincy. I hope her and Fatz can work through it once she finds out the truth ....cant wait for part 2

Loved this book!! It kept me interested and entertained throughout the hold book! I thinks Fatz is my new book Bae lol. I can’t wait to see what part 2 has in store!!

SNAKES SNAKES AND MORE SNAKES!! Chief the H.N.I.C was in love with a beautiful and smart Fragile (btw is a beautiful and unique name) that was short lived by the 2 people he thought he could trust. Leaving Fragile heartbroken and pregnant. Teyanna Fragile bf is fighting demons of her own with her no good boyfriend Quincy. These 2 aren’t having a easy life . Hopefully Fatz and Chubbz will bring happiness to these 2. The snakes will reveal themselves once you read this five star read. Definitely a great read from beginning to end. Now hurry up with part 2 hunts!! Lbvs

Must Read!!!
I just love Fatz & Chubbz, I hope Chubbz get to Teyanna in time I also she come out and tell Fragile the truth. Gwalah is soft asf I can’t stand him or Zara disloyalty behinds, I hope when Fragile learns the truth about Marcus death that she still remains true to Fatz I’m rooting for them 😍😍😍. Overall good book I can’t wait til part because Gwalah snitch behind need to get what’s coming.

Can’t wait until part 2
Wow that was crazy I kinda had a feeling that Gwalah had something to do with Chief getting shot but I wasn’t expecting that other person I feel so for Fragile tho cause she in the middle of something she don’t know nothing about, I knew I didn’t like Zaria she was too sneaky then she trying to play on Chief mother conscience she wrong for that. I also hope Teyanna is okay tho

My first time reading this author and she's got like🔥. By the end of the book she had me singing the snakes come out at night. Man I can't wait to read part 2, I highly recommend this book to everyone who reads.

It’s big boy season....
African frog squat, lol....I almost flatlined. Gwalah and Zaria were the snakes of all snakes. I feel like Chief was done dirty, but he was doing dirt and not being honest. I’m still on the fence about Fragile and Teyanna. Fragile had a lot of mouth and attitude, yet your dude living a whole other life, smh. Teyanna had a lot of advice and mouth but getting beat like a piñata, by a broke dude with no car, FOH. And why is the momma dragging her feet about Chiefs assets? I think she’s being sneaky. The only things I didn’t like about the book was the pace was a little slower than I like, but at that 69% mark....it got real, real and I could’ve done without all the negative references about Fatz and Chubbz weight. I can’t wait until the next installment!!

I can’t wait!!!
Part 2 needs to drop like yesterday because T’Ann knew better than to leave that kind of cliff hanger lol. From the first page I was pulled in to the very last. Nothing is predictable when it comes to this book. After the first few pages I was smitten with Chief and then the unthinkable happens and he’s ripped right from my heart. Knowing how he came to the end of the road makes me so mad! Gwalah is nothing but a greedy snake and he will get exactly what is coming to him. I hope Fragile can move passed all this in part 2 with Fatz. He seems like a great guy! Chubbz too! I legit cannot wait for part 2!!!

Satisfied Reader
This book had me on edge. It shows your closest friends can be your worse enemies. Chief was a good dude and didn't deserve that. I pray Gwalah gets everything coming his way. He is greedy and grimey. He and Zaria are so wrong. Fragile just don't know what she has gotten into. Fatz is not who she thinks he is but will she be able to forgive him. I can't wait for pt.2. I pray Chubbz gets to Teyanna cuz Quincy is f**k boi i don't like him

It was just okay for me
I really liked this author's work but this one didn't do it for me. It just doesn't seem like the characters of this book connected on a genuine level. It was slow moving. It needed more action. More interaction between the characters. Too many unanswered questions. I will read part 2 because I want to know the outcome.

Ooh wee Gwala and Zaria some real deal snakes. I can’t wait to see them get their dues. Ms. Jefferson know she could’ve tried to find Fragile. This is too much for my blood pressure but I can’t close my eyes. I like how you gave the big dudes a chance even though that isn’t my cup of tea. Can’t wait to read part two great job!!!!

A Must Read!
This story had all my emotions all over the place! I can't believe all the lies,deceit and backstabbing that is happening in this story! Part 2 needs to hurry and come out so I can see what happens to fragile. Not to mention Teyanna I hope she is ok cause Quincy needs to be dealt with. This book is a must read!

Gwalah and Zaria are snakes and I hope it come out that they were the ones who set up Chief. I like Fatz for Fragile, I can only imagine what's going to happen when Fragile find out he killed Chief. Teyanna really need to get away from Quicy and let Chubbz love on her.

Great Read
This is my first by this author, but not my last. Held me captive from beginning to end and what a ending. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters and I couldn't put it down. Really like Fragile and she's been through so much. Hated everything that happened with Chief, but it's making her a Bette, stronger woman. Gwalah and Zaira are two snakes slithering around and now he's snitching. Really liking Fats and Fragile and how their relationship is blossoming, but I wish he'd be honest with her, before it's too late. Hopefully, Chubbz get to Teyanna before it's too late and then handle Quincy punk behind. Also, Mrs. Jefferson isn't as dumb as those two snakes think she is. After that ending, I can't wait to see what happens next. Job well done T'Ann Marie.

Gwalah and Zaria was scandalous. Jealousy and Greed had them doing the unthinkable. Mrs. Jefferson is gonna have a heart attack when she finds out who was responsible for what happened to her son. Fragile was hurt behind what happened to Chief but she was even more hurt when she found out about the secrets she had. Fatz has been a peace of mind for her but I wonder will she feel the same when the truth comes out. Teyanna need to get away from Quincy bum ass before he kills her

Great read
This book had my full attention! Fragile is a firecracker but I love her character. Wish Marcus had better friends because the snake that was his right hand needs to be dealt with! Can't wait for part 2 to see how all this plays out. Poor Fragile.
