Roberto Saviano is an Italian writer and journalist.
In his writings, articles and books he employs prose and news-reporting style to narrate the story of the Camorra (a powerful Neapolitan mafia-like organization), exposing its territory and business connections.
In 2006 he wrote his bestselling book Gomorrah, where he describes the clandestine particulars of the Camorra business.

A mi este libro me gustó mucho. Todos sabemos o creemos saber que es la Mafia, pero Saviano nos mete en sus tripas, en su modo de pensar, en sus métodos de financiación, en su forma de corromper a la juventud aprovechándose de los problemas sociales, el paro, la falta de oportunidades, el abandono escolar....y la imaginación de estas organizaciones es inimaginable....libro que hay que leer..

Tendrá mucho interés para los Carabinieri porque en esta obra se cuenta como funciona la mafia, pero es un ladrillaco que, desde el punto de vista literario, es infumable. La madre que me parió.

I'm giving it 3 stars to be somehow fair. I didn't finish this book - it was way too documentary, with list of names following more names and locations. Saviano's style is edible and he noticed these small things that made the story even more dramatic. Still, it was difficult to find the rythm in this book and soak in. I usually don't put books down, I think it was 3rd or 4th in my entire life.

It's a good journalistic piece, but for people that live in 3rd world countries, there's nothing new or surprising in this. Also, I didn;t liked that at least half of the book are just names and family names, which make the reading not that interesting.

This book is scary in many levels, not only because of the crimes it depicts, but also due to Saviano's amazing writing. "Gomorra" didn't grab me from the beggining, but after three of four chapters, I was hooked.

Me gustó porque me enganchó a leer después de un tiempo.
Entre medias quise buscar un poco la vida del autor y cuando vi cómo era físicamente me recordó al actor de El Comisario Montalbano que mi padre veía en la 2. Desde entonces, al libro le puse la voz genérica del doblador de la serie. Esa voz genérica que le ponemos a películas italianas y francesas de segunda en las que nunca encaja bien la boca con el texto.
