S. Ramakrishnan
(Tamil: எஸ்.ராமகிருஷ்ணன்; born 1966)

is a noted Tamil author and Tamil film dialogue writer. He was born in Mallankinaru, Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu.

Ramakrishnan is noted for his column Thunai Ezhuthu in the magazine Ananda Vikatan. His short stories have been translated in German, French, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam.

His other works include Kadhaa Vilaasam, Desaandri, and Alainthen Tirindhen.

This book gives a detailed introduction to the world classics especially Russian. Read this book if you are not familiar with classics.

“செகாவ் மீது பனி பொழிந்து அவரை நடுங்கச் செய்கிறது. அவர் நோயாளி. ஆனாலும் குளிரோடு போராடியபடியே நின்று பார்க்கிறார். அந்த வீதியில் செகாவும் குதிரையும் மட்டுமே நிற்கிறார்கள். இருவர் மீதும் பனி கொட்டுகிறது. குதிரை அவரைத் திரும்பிப் பார்க்கவேயில்லை. செகாவ் துயரமடைகிறார். கைவிடப்படுதலும் நிராகரிப்புமே மனித வேதனைகளில் முக்கியமானது என்ற குறிப்பை எழுதுகிறார்.அவரது கதைகள் இந்த இரண்டு உணர்ச்சிகளையே தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்துகின்றன."

It's a short but effective read to know about world literature, especially it introduces more Russian writers and their works.
