I've enjoyed Mira Maxwell's other books, but this one felt thin, for lack of a better word. Like, I never got the sense that prison had adversely affected Bane for all he'd been locked up for the past 10 years. Elena didn't seem like she was completely aware of the danger she'd put herself in with the information she found while snooping. She trusted Bane on sight and entered into a relationship with him not long after.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good love (or lust) at first sight story, but the fact she was carrying evidence that could potentially incriminate two planetary governments didn't seem to affect her. Sure, she ran, but that seemed like it was more because of the attack on the embassy than anything.
That said, I do like a good 'bad guy turns good' story. Bane wasn't ever necessarily a bad guy in the strictest sense of the word, but he'd been locked up for a crime he didn't commit and that has to cause some issues for a dude.
Elena pretty much flowed with whatever punches came in her direction. She followed Bane. She ran when appropriate. I just wanted a little more depth to both her character and Bane's.

Elena sneaked back into the conference room to find out what everyone was hiding from her. After all, getting the facts was the reason she had some along! She finds what she needs and downloads the information to a chip hidden in her watch. Walking down the hall, she looks back over her shoulder and walks right into the Commissioner. He had been searching for her, and noted that she was not wearing her shoes. She distracted him and headed quickly for the dining room. Seeing everyone occupied, she walked outside and headed for her hotel room next door to examine what she had downloaded and find out the truth.
Secured in Ironport Maximum Security Prison for years with no hope of freedom and no contact with anyone, Bane hears someone enter. Three guards stand before him and he is told to follow them. When he didn’t move fast enough, they held weapons on him. He was tied to a chair and the man who betrayed him came into the room with an offer. They needed someone who could not be traced back to them, and who better than a prisoner who had been locked away for many years and forgotten. The reward for doing this job would be his freedom. He would be implanted with a tracker and explosive device in case he decided to run. He asked what the job involved.
Bane was told that one of the members of the diplomatic team got hands on restricted files that, if they became known, would end the relationship between Kosmora and Earth. They wanted the files destroyed and the journalist who stole them eliminated. But when he finds out that his target is a woman, things change. What will he do now? The implanted tracker will kill him if he tries to run with Elena. How will he protect her and get out of the situation he is now in?
This is an enjoyable, exciting read. It starts right out with an exciting, suspenseful story line that doesn’t let up. The action is gripping and the characters are compelling, put in a difficult situation that seems to allow no way out. Highly recommended!

This is my 1st read and review for this author and wow what a story and if Mira’s other stories are like this one then I will be doing a lot of one clicking. Elena is a human who has been sent to Kosmora on a diplomatic mission but she stumbles on a secret which could destroy the treaty. The Kosmorians are not happy with this human she has stumbled on their secret so they send their most hardened criminal to eliminate her. Bane is in a maximum security prison he’s been set up and convicted of a crime he didn’t commit he’s been locked away for years and forgotten, he’s been given an assignment to take out the human. The man that had him set up and told him that he can earn his freedom but as an insurance policy Bane will be tracked and fitted with an explosive device in case he tries to run. All goes to plan until Bane meets Elena and he wants her for himself but he has to find a way to get out of the mess their in. I absolutely loved this story it’s definitely well worth more than 5 plus ⭐️ and I highly recommend this book.

You will love the amazing and unique storyline. The characters are fantastic.

Bane is a sexy Suthune which is the main inhabitants of Kosmora. He has been in prison on the for years! Bane used to be a bounty hunter. The one who double crossed him and had him imprisoned shows up one day! He offers Bane a deal. He will release Bane if Bane will get rid of a Journalist. That has information they shouldn't. Babe agrees till he meets Elena. Bane plans to protect her even if it causes him his death!
You will love this super exciting,thrilling,funny,suspenseful,and steamy hot Alien Romance! It is a five star plus story!

Intense read full of suspense, action, drama and steam
This was quite a thrill ride of a read! I love that Bane kept his sanity while being in isolation so long - and to get free, he makes a deal with the devil, aka. Phantom, the guy that framed him and got him put in jail in the first place. Then Bane meets his mark and wow, his morals come to the forefront, and what follows, is an adventure for both Bane, Elena and some interesting side characters. Danger, hacking, suspense and sexy times abound in this high octane story. Well written, with the plot unfolding at a great pace, I found it really kept me glued for a one-sit read.

Locked up on the alien planet of Kosmora in prison for years, space bounty hunter Bane is released and tasked, with deadly consequences for him, to eliminate an Earth woman in possession of hijacked info of nefarious dealings between the Earth ambassador and the Kosmoran ambassador. Only, Bane ends up falling for her, impregnates her (oh, I love babies!)and must find a way to save all of their lives. Yes, I loved reading this book!

I quite liked this book, a young journalist trying to prove herself on her first big job becomes a nuisance and has to be rid of, enter a bounty hunter who was set up by his own boss for something he didn't do and ends in prison.
Insta attraction followed by a bit of insta love but it works.
The romance helps move the plot along, even if the twist is a bit predictable. Overall it's a good story, entertaining story with great world building.

This was a very exciting book. Bane spent years in a prison and when released he is asked to kill the Earth woman because she has learned about what the ambassador of Earth and the ambassador of Kosmoran are doing. Bane goes after Elena but ends up falling in love with her. Great story. Keeps you reading until the end.

I loved reading this amazing take on a Alein romance and the storyline was really not what I expected but the characters make you so hooked in you can’t help but love it. He has been locked up for years and has finely been released and given a deadly task. He needs to kill an earth women who has info about underhanded dealing between them and earth. Very good read.

She is on a diplomatic mission and finds out something she isn't supposed to know and the trouble begins, He has been prison for years. They let him out to kill her. He finds out she is a woman and it get even more fun from there. It is exciting, fun, emotional, suspenseful and so much more. I was given a review copy from booksprout and voluntarily review it.

Intense, gripping and suspenseful, this sci-fi romance keeps you on the edge of your seat. The plot is interesting, the characters likable and the chemistry steamy. An alien romance with plenty of fighting, espionage and some hotness. She knows there is more to the treaty and will risk everything to find out the truth. He is one tough male. Wrongly imprisoned for 10 years he has one chance at freedom, stoping one person. When it turns out to be one cute human female everything will change and no plans are possible. A very entertaining and exciting romance.

This is an interesting story with pretty likable characters even if the heroine had a couple of less then brilliant moments. I didn't quite believe she loved him but I could feel his love for her. Overall a good read. Enjoy.

October 22, 2018I started tuning out pretty quickly on this one. Only one news reporter to a big treaty? Elena miraculously finds suspicious files on a computer that she had no access to while not understanding the language? She doesn't think anyone can track that the files were copied?
