I enjoyed this conclusion to the Sins of Our Ancestors trilogy. This is a post-apocalyptic with teen romance thrown in, so if you like that sort of thing you will probably like this series. There were a few little things that niggled at me, like the over protective nature of the love interest, but he never went so far with it that he didn't respect Ruby's wishes so I could over look that. In general I liked him.
There were some repetitive things that happened in the series as a whole. There is a lot of traveling from place to place, and I kind of felt like it got a little old after a while. And Ruby and her friends tended to get captured a lot, which I thought happened a little too often. Mostly though I liked this book and the series overall was good, and I liked that not everything was wrapped up too neatly in the end. There were a couple of deaths that made me sad but needed to happen to balance things out.
Something I liked about this series is the way the author describes the scientific research for creating the virus and finding the cure. I'll admit I am not a scientist and never did that well in science in school, but the way it was written made it feel somewhat plausible to me instead of just coming out of nowhere.
This series was a quick, fun read and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
The perfect conclusion to this YA dystopian series! There was no lazy finish, unrealistic miracle solutions, or cop outs. Bridget answered our lingering questions, gave us closure, but somehow left us wanting more. There's definitely room for a spin off or maybe a novella to give us a glimpse of what comes after.
Meh. Again, not terrible, but not great. The author seems to have done a fair bit of research on viruses and medical equipment, but there’s a lack of detail in other aspects of her writing. Several plot occurrences that are abrupt and seem like “easy fixes” in order to move the story along. The storyline itself is interesting, but the writing itself a bit lacking.
Looking for a clean YA Dystopian/Apocalyptic series? Look no further, this series is a page turner that will suck you in & leaving you wanting more! It is a three book series about Ruby's journey to save the world!
Not as good as number 2 that was nowhere near as good as the first one. Too much freaking god in this one and the ending sucks. Glad whiney Wesley bit it.
What a satisfying way to end this series! Even though I knew where the story would ultimately have to go, there were several surprises thrown in there to keep me guessing.
I love Ruby’s growth throughout the series as she discovers that her ‘weaknesses’ are exactly what people need to have more of if the world plans to survive for another generation. Not only does Ruby get to come into her own, she also gets to discover so much more about her life from Before.
Once again, I stayed up way too late to keep reading until I finished this book. Written from the perspective of a 17-year-old, this series is perfect for the young and the ‘young-at-heart.’ I highly recommend this series to lovers of adventure, post-apocalyptic, or just a great story.
I didn't review the first two books and now i regret it. I was afraid they would go the direction of most post apocalyptic stories and I was dead wrong. I was in such a hurry to get to the next book I couldn't be bothered to leave a review. I will have to amend that. This story took turns and direction I never considered and kept you guessing until the last minute.
Just as good as first 2 books. We finally get to meet Sam's dad. Ruby and friends continue to be taken hostage again. There is sadness as there is in real life. Ruby finally makes up her mind about who to love. Do the marked make it? Guess you better read series to find out. I don't normally like or read apocalypse books but glad I read this series.
Let me just say, I loved this series! I came to love Wesley more because of the humor he has portrayed throughout this series. However, I was sad he died, but it was perfect the way it happened because that’s the only thing he ever wanted to do for her.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sam and Ruby’s relationship, it is too precious. I also liked how he gave her time to figure herself out. But even happier the author didn’t keep them apart because I would have been furious.
I wish there was another book, or at least a novella to expand on Ruby and Sams relationship. But maybe there will be in the future! Super sweet and awesome series! ❤️
One question I always ask at the end of my review: Having read the book now, would you take the time and read it or skip it?
READ THIS SERIES!!!😍

How does Ruby make good for the Sins of Her Ancestors.
Another Bridget Baker blockbuster tale of what happens next from the previous 2 books in this series. This fast paced book 3 expands the quest by Ruby to be a true and just ruler even though she wants to be just another person in the world. She does not like the title Your Royal Highnes head of the WPN (World Peace Now) organisation. She wants and tells people that she is not special and to treat her like an ordinary being, but they do not perceive her like this. For what she is trying to achieve, the ordinary subjects believe she is an extraordinary ruler and is far from just an ordinary person like they are, as she claims to be.
Her sadness at the death of her biological father, David Solomon, is not real, however she does not want everybody to learn the truth about their relationship. It makes a very complicated issue out of their family and one she prefers to keep close to home. She witnesses an event with her father that she feels releases her from his control, however, many in the world almost worshipped him and so Ruby has to be aware that she does not alienate the general population who feel very deeply about him being a wonderful ruler.
Ruby is faced with becoming the new queen of WPN and so has to act cautiously in her actions in the ensuing hunger games she knows will evolve in the near future. Her father, the late great monarch had made plans to deal with hundreds and thousands of Marked people and Ruby was horrified to learn this and was determinded to ensure those plans were negated in the best possible manner, without the prospect of a blood bath developing as it could do if she moved in the wrong direction. Her future actions required careful management and for her to deal with the future required her to learn much of life and required a great character development of her.
Ruby has a small number of friends close to her and they are determined to protect and see she remains safe as her new position in the WPN is to be confirmed. However, there is several powerful rulers from other areas determined to see their plans previously put in place with David Solomon be carried out. These other area leaders put Ruby on notice in the hope she will fail, however, they are thwarted by Ruby and her friends and so she has another front to be aware of in the future. A number of them travel with Ruby to another city to perform a certain procedure that is hopeful of saving many thousands of lives of the Marked, this task in made even more difficult by a close relative of one in her party. She has many tasks to face to hopefully achieve her promises and with negative actions from some close to her group they cannot afford to miss a beat.
In spite of the forces working against Ruby and her team they stay focused on their main objective, to save the lives of many thousands of the Marked Ones. Time and procedure are critical so they must be strict and remain focused if they are to achieve what Ruby has set as their goal. The Marked Ones leader is no stranger to Rubys team, however, they are determined to ensure the course of action promised by her be kept and have initiated an unsavoury pathway to try to make sure she and her team achieve this. Many many thousands of lives depend on this ensuring that promises made are met and the team are focused on meeting their assurances to save lives.
There is many a sadness in Rubys days and one in particular is that she is informed by the Marked leader that a very best friend has been executed by him, because Ruby did not respond to demands he made of her in the time stipulated. He wanted her to realize that he had had enough of promises made but never kept and this impacted on the many thousands of the Marked Ones. The fact that all the previous actions had been caused by the lack of action and caring from the Ancestors and not Ruby and her team, did not still his cruel action. The timeline he set was maybe unreasonable, but because of the past he did not care, Ruby was to feel the full force of his requirements regardless. What could she and her team do to placate this seeming monster other than gather them around her and make a positive plan.
Many obstacles kept arising at them but with determination they faced them and worked their way through the many issues that kept arising. Amongst all the agony Ruby does receive some wonderful news and this spurs her on to maybe rethink some thoughts of illwill she had against a member of the Marked community.
This story keeps on expanding into new ventures that as a reader I absolutely loved and am really looking forward to reading the next chapter or book 4, where does this one take us??
I could expand further on this book 3 but believe you will enjoy it more by reading it yourself and discovering the many hidden stories that the writer Bridget B keeps bringing forth so cleverly, it is not easy to guess her next move which makes the reading so enjoyable.
I have written this review of my own free will without promise or inducement by any person or company.
Seventeen-year-old Ruby Behl never anticipated being thrust into a position of power. Still, the drastic changes over the past few months have prepared her to accept this daunting responsibility.
The urgency escalates when a vicious attack accelerates the spread of the Tercera virus, leaving Ruby and her friends with less than a week to find the cure, prevent the catastrophic Cleanse, and rescue her aunt from execution. This book is a gripping conclusion to the *Sins of Our Ancestors* trilogy.
This post-apocalyptic novel, infused with teenage romance, offers a satisfying blend of action and emotion. Fans of the genre will likely find it engaging. I did find a few aspects that niggled at me, such as the overprotective nature of the love interest. However, he consistently respected Ruby's autonomy, which mitigated my concerns and allowed me to appreciate his character overall.
The series did have some repetitive elements. For instance, the frequent traveling from place to place felt a bit tiresome after a while, and Ruby and her friends seemed to get captured too often, which detracted slightly from the plot's momentum. Despite these minor issues, I enjoyed the book and the series. I appreciated that not everything was neatly resolved at the end, lending a realistic touch to the story. The inclusion of a few significant character deaths, while saddening, provided a necessary balance to the narrative.
One of the standout features of the series is the author's detailed description of the scientific research involved in creating the virus and finding a cure. Even though I am not well-versed in science, the explanations were written in a way that made them feel plausible rather than contrived. This added a layer of authenticity to the story, enhancing my enjoyment of the series.

MY TAKE An action-packed conclusion to a compelling series. Full of twist and turns and some seriously messed up family connections, the bittersweet tale manages to be positive with a strong stress on "family" that goes beyond blood ties.
Overall, this was a decent, engaging series with lots of twists and turns. There were a few boring moments and lots of unrealistic dialogue, and I wish there had been a lot more action, but I enjoyed it for the most part.
I definitely didn't expect but the surprise was worth the wait and came none too soon. It also helped explain some things I've had questions about since book one. I was also excited to finally learn the identity of the partner as well as who switched out the suppressant, both surprising moments. But I'm still annoyed that we never got an explanation for where the heck Uncle Dan was the whole first and second books.
The ending felt right, with the big issue resolved but leaving it open to interpretation what would happen next as the characters' lives continue off-page. It wasn't as cliche or neatly packaged as I thought it might be, which I appreciated.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked the story, I do however believe that Bridgette is guilty of a simple ending.
*spoiler*
This is the second series I’ve read by this author and both times we have a beautifully descriptive world that pulled me in from the first chapter. Both times however the ending feels just a little too rose coloured compared to the cut throatedness of the world she’s created… I am very sick of her killing off the funny sweet boy who loves the main character as a huge sacrifice that ultimately makes her decision for her (regardless of what she says of having picked Sam), both times she’s in a love triangle with a strong boy who will protect her at all costs and can kill any enemy, and a sweet boy who is funny and lighthearted and will follow her to the ends of the earth. Both times the funny one sacrifices himself for her and she ends up with the strong one.
Did I ship her with Sam? Of course. Did it feel just a little too easy at the end? Absolutely.
I flew through the first book. The second book was almost as good as the first. I did not like this one as much. Ruby, the main character, talks about how she doesn't know who God is, but then she gives a big speech on forgiveness. I don't think that she could have done that with her limited knowledge of God. The characters didn't seem quite as developed as they were in the first novel. Also, I felt like one of the characters was killed off instead of developing more. Also, it bothered me at the end that Ruy who is 17 is considered an adult in this society. She is old enough to rule a kingdom. However, she isn't old enough to be engaged or to adopt Libby's baby. Her aunt stepping in to do it seemed like a way to tell the audience not to get married young. I do like that it is a clean dystopian novel.

Honestly, BEST book of the trilogy! My daughter and I couldn't put this book down! When you find yourself laughing out loud at the characters' personalities shining through or crying with them, you know you've found a powerful book! Baker's character development, plot development, and great story telling is profound! Even my 12 yr old daughter said, "Mom, these books need to be made into a movie! I loved these!" This book had so many twists and turns that I didn't expect, and I was left not wanting to put the book down for fear of missing out on what was coming next. I'm now on the edge of my seat waiting for the next set of books to be written! Honestly, this has been the BEST trilogy I've read in a long while!
Though I’ve had a lot of quibbles with this series, I’ve decided to give the final book five stars. The problems are still there, but the story is SO good. The story is good enough to get me past issues that would have made me stop reading a lesser book immediately. The problems are cosmetic and craft-related, but what always matters the most to me is the story and the growth of the characters, and that was awesome. I wish this series had been published by a major publishing house with an experienced editor and a big advertising budget, because the story is great. Worth reading if you can get over the problems. (Which include: unrealistic dialogue and an over-the-top love triangle for much of the story)
I thought this was the last book but I was mistaken. This one made me tear up. There are just so many things happening. Now our group is on the hunt for the partner of Donald Bell. They have no idea who he is and believe he also has the cure. The more they try to uncover his identity, the more roadblocks get in their way. Ruby also became Queen after her fathers death and her subjects couldn't understand her desire to help the infected. They fought her every step of the way. Ruby didn't let that stand in her way. With Sam by her side she fought against the roadblocks and kept searching for answers. Finally when I thought it was hopeless they got a break. That break lead to the ending which was spectacular and very sad at the same time. A great series that should be on your tbr pile.
The plot twists just keep coming, and I was shocked by a few towards the end. Saddened by one as I had grown attached to the character and surprised by the revelations of the other. This series is engaging, and the characters are so likeable and relatable that you can imagine befriending Ruby, Sam, Wesley, and Rafe - well, maybe not Rafe so much as his angry self is a bit too volatile for my tastes. There is so much death and deception, but moments of hope and joy like Libby and Rose who shine a light into the darkness, however brief. Ruby has some tough choices to make, and she will have to live with the consequences. Time will tell if they are the right ones.
Redeemed is an absolutely captivating conclusion that delivers everything I hoped for and more. Bridget E. Baker has a gift for blending heart-stopping tension with raw, emotional depth. The characters feel so real—flawed yet resilient—and their growth throughout the story is both inspiring and heartbreaking. The pacing never lets up, keeping me hooked from the very first page to the last. What impressed me most was how Baker tied together complex plot threads with such finesse, leaving me deeply satisfied but still thinking about the world she created long after finishing. If you love strong, layered characters, high stakes, and beautifully written storytelling, Redeemed is a must-read.
I picked the first book up because someone decided to leave an ignorant comment about it on social media. Didn’t know if I’d read it or not. Less than a week later I’m through the series. The only problem is that there was only three books... there could be four or five more without a problem. The character development is spectacular but also opens so many doors to walk through that will never be entered. What happens next? Does WPN deal with the problem facing it? Do the unmarked deal with their new reality well? I. Need. More.
Pretty decent series overall, and this book was probably the best. Characters fleshed out well. Definitely room for improvement in the writing, but the author knows how to draw you in. Was thrown out of the story several times with the writing, though. One example is the use of highness and majesty. There is a difference. Kind of glaring when used incorrectly, and that happened throughout the series. Did enjoy, though, and look forward to reading more of this authors work.
I loved reading this book! This is the third book in the series and I read the first two last year and absolutely loved them so I knew I had to read this one. This is a very adventure filled book with many plot twists and it always kept me on the edge of my seat. It also involved a love triangle and so it made it more interesting because I couldn't wait to find out who she ended up with. The ending of the book was also very unexpected and it was definitely not something that could be predicted. So, this book really kept me turning the pages and I really enjoyed it!
This was the first time reading books from Bridget Baker and I was referred to her books by a friend and am deeply glad.
I don’t typically write reviews because I read about 50-70 books a year. I read this whole series in about a week and loved every minute of it. Each book had me addicted starting with the first chapter. Each book is filled with plot twist, character build ups, suspense, daring escapes, and much more. I’m super glad that the author decided to make a fourth installment.
I have never felt so angry reading a book. And I mean that in the best way possible. The characters were so well written that I felt genuine hatred towards them. If you've read the book already, I know I don't even have to tell you who I am referring to.
A book that can make me feel genuine emotion is a good book. I am so glad I gave the rest of the series a chance after finding the first one mediocre. The writing still lacks in world building, and there aren't enough transitional scenes that would have really helped.
This whole trilogy was one that I got pulled into from book 1. This final book really wrapped the events from previous books up but left it to where it could be continued in the future. There were times that Ruby was so wish washy about her feelings for Sam that I wanted to throttle her. Good series, reminded me a bit of the Divergent series in the premise of a young woman and her boyfriend saving the world but had its own unique twist.
Overall the series is not a bad read. It was easy to read and there were some interesting plot points. Enough that i did want to actually finish the series. However, quite a bit was rather predictable and i had a hard time connecting to the characters. When bad things happened, even characters being killed, it just didnt really affect me. Maybe its my age, or that i have read too many YA dystopian style novels but my overall feeling was just "Meh."
This is the final conclusion of the series where everything is wrapped up. There are some plot twists and I think it will end differently than you think (which is a good thing in my opinion). My only problem is it seemed like a long time to get to that point. Some things just dragged and I was finding myself wondering when it would end.
