My name is Alexis, though everyone calls me Lexie. I’m a Necromancer. We’re rare enough that I’ve never met another in my life, until Claire came home to tell me she found one. In New Orleans. Now I am headed south with my best friends, staying in close quarters with five guys, four guys whom I have kissed, one who has been ignoring me for the last few weeks, one who keeps sneaking kisses, one who doesn’t even remember it and another… Well, I don’t know what he wants. Thank God for Miles. He’s my one safe place in this disaster I’ve created. Naturally, that’s not my only problem. Things aren’t good in New Orleans. Representatives from the Witches Council are in town, the dead are everywhere, and the secrets are piling up. The whole situation is a powder keg just waiting for a match. But why am I holding the matches?
B.L.Brunnemer has been a devoted reader since she was young. As a child, she was instantly attracted to horror stories. The plot, the suspense, the action. She loved it all. Which, as she grew, branched out into several other genres. But a strong female character always caught her eye. Through the years romance became a big part of her reading. Then she found the Young Adult/New Adult genre. But she had a problem. She never found the romance between most characters to be realistic enough for her. At least in the paranormal romance section.
So, she decided to fix that. She'd been writing for years already and had always struggled to finish a manuscript. Until, she decided to write what she wanted to read.
B.L. Brunnemer doesn't have any other publications at this time. She's just a woman, who loves a good story with great characters. And she hopes you'll love them too.
This installment finds Lexi and her crew in New Orleans dealing with a lot of supernaturals, trying to stay alive and together with her guys. It is more focused in her relationship with the guys. It also broadens her scope of the supernatural community. Lots of action and a lot of development. While it is not a cliffhanger it does end with a lot of unanswered questions. Which just makes me wonder when the next book is coming out. Can’t wait for more!

OMG! so excited, can't wait for it <3 Now let's wait...and wait...and maybe wait some more...for a cover? Title? Synopsis? eeks?
This book ... made me so happy. I’ve been a devoted lover of Lexie and her guys for about a year - and this book gave me everything I could wish for. One of the reasons I’ve been so excited about this series was to see how the “all dating her at once” idea would play out. This is supernatural... but the romance is contemporary... and I wanted to see an author pull that off. So far... it is all super believable. BL created such strong characters and the relationships between all of them are super developed and THAT is why the idea of the RH is plausible and I love it.
There were some adorable, sweet, sexy, and heartbreaking moments in this book. It truly was everything I’ve been wanting and I think the author might finally be relieving her fans “blue Balls”.
The action and plot of the story was so satisfying and I feel that this series is moving on much nicer now. I’m really glad the author spent so much time the first four books just building the relationships - it makes the plot so much more satisfying and enjoyable.
Here is my “but” and here is why the book got 4 out of 5 stars. The grammar. The sentence structure. There were misspellings. It wasn’t just a small amount either - it was common. I guess my head goes to the place of... you’ve probably made a lot of money ... this author has pretty much the most popular RH series out there right now... can’t she afford the best of the best in a proofreading and editing company? I’m wondering if she’s been using the same people since book 1 and they are still trying to clean out errors from past books... I feel like a jerk for saying it... but I think it needs to be said. The book isn’t unreadable and I stand by that it’s my favorite in the series and the author has created a fan for life in me. But... when I pay as much as I do for her books... I want quality. The story and characters are quality... but I want a clean book. I really do. And that doesn’t make me a book snob, it’s just professional expectations. You sell a product... it should be stripped of most imperfections.
The only thing I can think of here... is that it’s possible the author rushed to get this out on time to not disappoint her fans. Because I don’t think book 5 had this many editing issues. And again - it wasn’t unreadable - it was just enough to make me wince and wonder why her stories are not super polished by now. She’s a fantastic writer.
Anyway, besides that black blemish I needed to get out... I’m beyond excited for the audible release. The narrator for these books has always done a fantastic job and I can’t wait to see her bring this to life. I can see a lot of rereads of Book 4-6 in my future...
Another great book! I have to admit that the first few books of this series were just okay for me. The last one and this one were wonderful though.
With more supernatural action plots happening, Lexie and the guys are definitely getting more intriguing. Miles is my favorite though! Looking forward to the next book. Hopefully won't have to wait for long for the series to release another one.
Claire comes to Lexie with news, there's another living Necromancer and he wants to meet with her. Only issue is he's not in state. Well, Montana, anyways. He's in New Orleans, an area legendary for magic revolving around death. The men in her life are not happy about this drive to go talk, neither her friends nor Rory. Unbelievably, her uncle allows her to make the trip, as young as she is, as long as she takes the guys with her. So, the 6 of them pile on a plane and head south the land of constant sweat and frizzy hair. What started out as a possible connection with another Necromancer turns darker. NO has some strange events going on. People getting sick with no bacterial or viral contagion, ghosts everywhere and none of them want to cross over, and then the disappearances start up. Forget about relationship issues, just what the hell did they all walk into? Mild spoilers ahead- There was so much going on in this book. Things have been building for a while now and all these little factors are getting pulled in. It's busy, it's chaotic, it's crazy. Rory allowing this trip? Oh hell no. I know she's been an acting adult for a long time now but letting her run headlong off as a minor is bonkers. This on again off again fighting with Tara is crazy, too. Why do we get Jessica's POV but not Tara's? If you're going to play up the jealousy over inherited abilities at least allow us to sympathize with Tara. All we see now is b**** mode and screaming. I had hope in previous books when she was learning self defense with Lexie. That hope is fading. Also, this headlong flight into an unknown situation. I get that she's finally getting some of herself back. I loved that she got to do some art tours. But there were some pretty epic TSTL moments going on here. And not just her, among the guys, too. After specifically stating that they needed to remain in pairs, at the very least, Zeke was constantly working out solo, the twins would argue and walk off in a huff, Asher would be alone on the balcony, and many other moments. I was a little disappointed that they didn't do something for Zeke's bday. Of all things, Miles and Lexie going dancing just seemed wrong. Why didn't they stay together and celebrate? Even if it was just burgers and video games? That seems like a slight to me especially as Zeke is obviously struggling over everyone's safety. The POV jumps, the oddness of the council, the other Supe groups, the little bits of info snuck in there about this and that, all the emotional upheaval and a million other things leave you feeling wrung out at the end of this book. I'm contemplating another read through after I've had a day to absorb it all lol. I almost feel like this should have been 2 books. I know it seemed like I complained a lot but it isn't really that. It was a good continuation of the series. I just felt oddly rushed in some places and that important info was skipped on others. A little fleshing out here and there and what was a rushed single book could become an epic 6&7. Brunnemer brings the energy, though, and doesn't disappoint on the action. Although, I feel Lexie is being nudged into depths she's not ready to handle yet. Yeah, gonna need to soak this in and reread and add to the review.
End of book six and we still don’t even have one of her harem relationships established. They’ve only just heard of polyandry as an idea and are vehemently against it. This is slower than slow especially with how their relationships have been written so far, they’ve practically been ‘sharing’ this whole time with zero issue ever until now they all want to officially date her. I’m just bored now. Lexie keeps lying and hiding things and then crying when that blows up in her face. I’m so sick of her.
I only really began enjoying this series in Book 5, as finally the plot seemed to go beyond Lexie hanging out with the guys doing mundane stuff and just drama around their relationships with each other.
There were some answers regarding Lexie's powers, and we met new characters which widened the world further, but I didn't find any of it particularly exciting.
Instead this just felt like relationship progression filler. The boys and Lexie finally admitted their feelings and cue the great big drama-rama to return. There's a range of the boy's point of views all going on how they're not worthy blah blah blah, she'll never choose them. There's lots of glaring whenever any of them touch her, which is often. If they're all so outraged at the idea of all dating her, why have they been okay with watching each other sleep with her, kiss her face and cheek, stroke her, hug her etc. It stopped being platonic a long time ago, quite frankly.
The only light in the tunnel is Miles. Praise the fucking Gods for Miles, who is the only one acting like a rational human being. Even my beloved Zeke got on my nerves at times.
Hopefully all of this relationship nonsense will come to a head in the next book. I get they're teenagers, and I can make certain allowances for their reactions (which is the only reason I haven't given up on this series) but I still think it could be dealt with better!
if it wasn’t for the fact that I fucking love these books i would give this a one star. i hate the author. lol i’m just kidding because she’s one of my all time favorites, but WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE THE BEST PART FOR THE SNEAK PEEK???? LIKE GOD FUCKING DAM IT MS. BECKY BRUNNEMER BECAUSE I DONT NEED TOXIC PEOPLE IN MY LIFE LIKE YOU MAKING ME BLOW ALL MY MONEY ON YOUR BOOKS😂😂 But in all seriousness, if you haven’t picked these books up yet, give them a chance. I can’t guarantee that you’ll like it; it’s just not possible. But i can say that i’m pretty sure you won’t regret reading it.
Lexie and the guys travel to New Orleans to meet with another Necromancer and learn what they can from him. Unfortunately, their arrival comes at a time when the Witch's Council is pressuring all the other supernaturals in the community to join them "or else" and Lexie and the boys get in the middle of the power struggle. In other news, Lexie is also feeling romantic pressure. As the boys individually admit their desire for her, she worries that when they all find out about each other that she will lose them all. Aw.
A LOT happens in this book. I'm (mostly) satisfied at this point because the plot took some jumps forward and we even have new characters for the upcoming books, yay! There is a good indication that we will finally get our romantic path going in the promised direction. I also like that we have a clear villain in the Witch's Council. While the author hasn't specified it, they must be behind the closing of the veil which is the unsolved question from way back in book 1. This book does leave some big questions left unanswered, like what is going on with Ethan? Just one more thing to address in the next book, where it is rumored that "stuff" actually starts happening between our characters. I'm looking forward to it.
Wow this book really LEAPed forward in plot! I had previously felt the pacing was a bit slow (not just romantically, but even with Lexie's abilities). This book really cranks it all up. Lexie and the guys travel to NOLA and find out a lot more about necromancy. They also find out a LOT more about vampires, werewolves, and witches. Finally, Lexie tells them she loves them all and has kissed each of them. They do NOT handle it well. However, Miles (the always level headed) talks to Louis about his unconventional relationships and proposes it to the group. The book ends with a lot of decisions to make and I am super excited to see where Brunnemer takes it next.
This is the first book in the series that didn’t get a five star review. There was a lot going on to further the story line but I really felt like the relationships didn’t get the proper attention. We are at a huge climatic relationship part and I felt like the paranormal aspect overshadowed it. I don’t want to go into spoilers but I felt this book was somewhat lacking.
OMG this book is complete awesomeness. Everytime B.L. Brunnemer releases a book it's better than the last. I don't know how this is possible when you don't think something good get any better, then all of a sudden it does. Secrets from the grave is the best book I have read all year.
My friend shared Found and Secrets From the Grave just the other day (26th....decided to reread the series and damn I'm sleepy). I am frustrated and angry and sad and annoyed and I want the next damn book already lmao. I loved the book, it finally upped on the romance with everything coming to a head and people started talking FINALLY!!! I love that this is major slow burn, I mean these are teenagers so we shouldn't be begging Brunnemer to give us more than what has been given...sorry but I don't want to read about teenagers doing it...I mean it happens all the time but yeah...aaaaaannyways I'm going to be going nuts until I get the next book/s.
For the love of all that is Holy, please release this book!!!! This is like putting chocolate cake in front of a fat kid and telling him, "Yes, it's there, but all you can do is look at it."
Patience is not a virtue, it's a damn torture tactic. *sigh*
The first 75% was 2-3 stars for me but the last 25% was about 4 stars. I’ll still read subsequent books in this series but the majority of this book felt like a filler and completely unnecessary.
Oh Guys this book was awesome!! So worth the wait. So much happens, relationship wise, plot wise, and yes we do get some answers. We also get more questions. I do not want to give anything away, but I will give what I can.
First of all, the relationships. We have some movement, but does it bring them closer together? Or wedge them further apart? I will let you decide.
Second, what she learns about being a Necro. It was pretty neat meeting Louis. He is a pretty cool character and really helps out Lexie. He helps her shed light on many things.
Thirdly, the Witch's Council. Wow I am really hating them right now. They truly are bad guys, and the lengths they go to, to get their way. Just wow! and now Lexie is in their sights.
There is a lot going on in between all of this. We get the POV from the guys, as they work through things. Which things you will have to read to find out. The people they meet in New Orleans was very helpful and it was interesting to see how things were done there. Lexie is really kick a@@ in this. She is finally getting answers to what she has always wanted to know, and I believe she is finally getting her confidence back. We also get hints about what the next book will be about. Overall, I love this series and this is the best slow burn Rh I have read.
Wow........... It's very often that I am left speechless but WOW. I have no other words, I have loved reading these books so much. The characters are just amazing. Lexi is so strong and the guys oh my goodness the amount of times they have melted my heart. Read them all everyone!
Absolutely amazing story as expected from BL Brunnemer. Love the narrators she's chosen as well. I have a whole page of notes - questions I need answered!!!! I love how the relationship is evolving and I can't wait for future developments. And the witches council!!! I can't wait to see how Lexie’s powers evolve.
I am addicted plain and simple. Knowing I have to wait however long till the next book comes out and then all damn 8 after that has me feeling like a damn pre-teen who just found out that her favorite boy band (I loathe boy bands btw) is performing in her city and there’s no tickets left. I’m almost 40 for goodness sake 🤦🏼♀️ This series is gooooooood!
I was looking forward to reading it... and then was a bit disappointed. I'm probably the only one, BUT... I feel Lexie just pulled on britches that are too big for her. She went from learning and doing her best, to being a subject matter "expert" in less than a year? Taking on a "role" that she has no business in. She overstepped, plain and simple. Supernatural politics for the teen and no one truly bats an eye at the huge leap she made into that role in NOLA? I just don't buy it, that was far too outlandish for me. I just didn't like it at all. Then so much seemed rushed. This book was less detailed than the others. To me, it was a bit of a let down.
Yessssss! This book was everything! The build up, the beginning, the middle and that freaking ending! U want to re-read it again and I just finished it. Lexie and the guys are getting started and things in the magical community is getting crazy. Everything is crazy right now but so amazing! I'm going to be in agony until the next book!
Wow!!! Blown away by another instalment in this series. This story kicks up into serious high gear with loads of supernaturals, lots of action and suspense, and heaps of chemistry. Could not put it down. Was literally sneaking off in the middle of work to hide that I was reading a book instead of working!! Does not disappoint. Decisions, decisions for book 7!!! Can’t wait!
