Kiri Helena Solene is done burying her loved ones. She is going to put an end to this war, one way or another.
Even if it means she loses herself in the process.
But in matters of war, Rowena has no intention of losing. The Corruptor knows Helena’s greatest strength is also her weakness, and she has every intention of exploiting it. Especially if that means removing key players from the board.
The path ahead is fraught with betrayal. The only thing that's certain...
It won't end until one of them is dead.

Queen of Light Review As you can tell I’ve been a fan of Meg Anne’s for awhile now. Queen of Light is the 4th installment in The Chosen series. I started this book on Sept 25th, I read a few chapters a day because I wanted to appreciate the book itself. I knew that this was the last book in The Chosen series, I did not want it to end. Even though I wanted to devour it right away. I took my time, and I’m glad I did.
Meg Anne does not disappoint. I’ve loved the series from the get-go. Her world building is outstanding. The way she uses her words helps you to transform into the story and see it playing out. If there is one series I know is that The Chosen series would be an amazing on the big screen (or even a series on Netflix).
That ending, was another shocker for me since it kinda gives you a glimpse of what may come, maybe, just maybe, there’s another series in the making?! I know I will be following Meg for updates on what is in store in the future.
Unfortunately, I feel that this particular book did not reach its potential. Being the last book of the series I expected it to end with a BANG!. Well, there was a bang. I just felt that Anne spent way to much time developing the plot, building up the schemes but the final blow was not the impactful, a problem seen much to often in the previous books of the series. Even her attempt to end the book on a cliff hanger was not effective. I mean the end scene between Ronan and Reyna... I was ok not knowing about their relationship, even the scene with Effie and the Keepers.. just didn't matter enough. I felt that this was because there was an imbalance in the book between the storyline and the characters, that's why the heart wrenching pain I should have felt because of the cliff hanger was just a simple tug in the gut.
Overall, not a bad series to read but nothing to great
I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book :) this is the fourth and final book in this epic fantasy series :) because of that, I can't possibly write my review completely spoiler free for all of you, so here's what we're gonna do: the next paragraph will be safe to read by everyone, even if you are new to this series and know nothing about it :) in it, I will tell you a bit more about our main group of characters and what the whole series is all about, without spoiling you certain surprising turns of events :) then the third and last paragraph will be my review of this last installment, where I will be mentioning people and events that may be counted as spoilers from the first three novels... I won't be explaining who the characters are and how they got involved into everything, because I am assuming that the people who read that last paragraph are people who are caught up on the previous books :) ok, now that we have this little explanation out of the way, let me tell you a bit about Helena :)
She's the main character of the whole series, although besides her, we have quite a group of people around her, but I will get to them in a moment :) there was a prophecy that claimed Helena will be the strongest ruler of her people, the Vessel with magic so potent, she will have the potential to save or destroy everyone... to ensure that her magic won't be tainted with the corruption of the court, she is sent away and raised in secrecy... we meet her at the beginning of the first book, when her childhood friend Darrin comes back from his training to explain the situation to her, and takes her back to court, cause it's time for her to form her Circle and take her rightful place on the throne :) Helena is a great main character, strong but flawed, making mistakes and dealing with the consequences of her actions, I loved to see her grow and change as a person throughout the whole series :) her Circle, people who will be closest to her, will be made from five men, each of them put there for a specific reason: the Advisor, the Master, the Shield, the Sword and the Mate :) I won't go into any additional details who does what, because it's described very well in the books ;) through all four novels in the series, we have one big story arch, so you definitely have to read them in order :) this whole series is filled with betrayal, adventures, surprising twists and turns, cliffhangers, love, friendship, tears and laughter... it's a complete and beautiful mix that will leave your heart full of feelings... Meg Anne created a very rich and diverse world, and even though that big story arch is concluded in this final installment, there are more than a few teasers along the way that will lead us to a spin-off series that the author herself mentioned she will be working on in the future :) and I am more than happy to hear about that, because there is so much potential, not only with certain characters that I really want to know more about, but with the world itself... I feel like we only just scratched the surface of the places we could see :) so I am very excited to come back to this world at some point in the future :) if you didn't get it by now, let me tell it straight: I highly recomend you guys to check out this series :) the writing style is great and very entertaining... it takes a special talent to make me cry during my re-read of a story, when I already know what's gonna happen... and yet I am still affected so much by Meg's words that I can't help myself... if you haven't checked her out yet, definitely remedy that situation ASAP :) ok, now that I told you more about Helena and the whole series let's jump into my review of this final installment :)
LAST WARNING people :) SPOILERS from the first three books are coming.... BIG SPOILERS are coming next, avert your eyes if you don't want to have big surprises ruined... ok, let's talk about the finale of this epic fantasy series... I recently re-read the first three books in preparation, because I realized I forgot a lot of details... and it was a great idea, because then I was able to really catch a lot of little things along the way... although I swear, I did not expect to cry again when Darrin was killed... I mean, I knew it was coming, and yet that scene in the third book once again wrecked me... since the fourth one picks up right after the ending of the third one, that death still lingers heavily on our characters... Helena and her closest allies are preparing for the final battle with Rowena and her army of Shadows... we have a brief break from all the drama with a celebration of the mating bond between Serena and Niall, and that whole part was just so sweet to read about :) to see all these characters experience such a joyful moment... *sighs happily* ;) mostly because soon after that, we are going straight back into the middle of things... Helena and her Circle, the official and unofficial one, are trying to find a way to defeat Rowena... and everything is leading to this epic battle that will finally determine the outcome of everyone... even though I tried to anticipate what might happen and how everything will end, I shouldn't have wasted my time... ;) Meg definitely managed to surprise me more than once during this story :) I loved the conclusion to the big story arch and the teasers we got about the future books set in this world... I adored that we kept seeing quite a few secondary characters I already fell in love with, and I hope that we will get to know even more about them... *coughs* Ronan and Reyna *coughs* ;) I think it was a great conclusion to the story and charcters I got so close to, and I'm looking forward to read not only more books set in this world, but also all others this lovely author will write :) I really enjoyed her writing style and can't wait to see what she has in store for us next :)
Queen of Light is the fourth and final book Meg Anne’s The Chosen Series. Helena has transformed and its time for her full powers to be used to bring down Rowena. The battle ahead is tough and it’s time to win. This dark fantasy romance has moments of grief and heartbreak, but revenge and war and primary, along with hope. Please note the trigger warnings in the blurb.
This isn’t the end of this series, there’s more in The Keepers series with Effie’s story.
Kinda sad because was enjoying this season but this one fell really flat, got really repetitive and predictable and the characters got really irritating by the end.
Fantasy has always been my first love! I love being transported to a completely new place! I fell instantly in love with Meg’s The Chosen series because of this but also because it also incorporates romance! I love the fierce bond between Helena and Von! You could tell from the beginning that there was more than just physical attraction between them but also spiritual and it’s that bond that makes them both stronger than anyone else!
I am sad to have this storyline end but from that ending I know something more awaits (because that’s the other thing I love about fantasy, it’s never truly the end)
If like me you are a lover of fantasy you must read this series because the world that Meg has created is one you want to be apart of!
What a ride! I love the chemistry between the characters, their banter keeps me entertained. Helena proves once more why she was chosen by the mother to lead the chosen. And Rowena, yikes! Evil as hell, worse than I thought. Action, romance, and plot twists. The perfect end to this wonderful series.
Now that I finished all four books, I can safely say: Book 1 > Book 4 > Book 2 > Book 3.
THE WAR HAPPENS, FINALLY. ALL THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT. THIS IS WHAT I WANTED FROM THE BEGINNING.
With that said, the ending could've been even stronger. The final battle was cool but I wouldn't have minded "more" of it.
The other battles were very creative. The disguises/copies? Brilliant. I wish they got her that time.
NOW. WHY DO GOOD CHARACTERS HAVE TO DIE? JUST KILL OFF ALL THE BAD ONES AND CALL IT A DAY. Yes, yes, it was to further a different character's story along, okay, but no dying, come on :( I'd only accept a major character death instead.
And Ronan...WHERE'S HIS MATE HUH? Let him be happy please.
Effie got more likable, I didn't pay much attention to her before (she was like an extension of Darrin and when he you-know-what she was mopey sad so I was waiting to see what she'd be like when she recovered from it a bit) but it seems like she'll be interesting.
The cliffhanger wasn't terrible at all, pretty satisfying actually. I'm still going to jump into the next series in a bit.
This was such a great way to end this series! I am still in love with how much Helena and Von love each other. She has finally come into her own and rocks it! You fall in love with all the auxiliary characters as well. I have a soft spot for Ronan! It's good too see that good wins over evil. I will definitely read the possible spin off series. I want to know what happens with Effie!! I highly recommend this series if you love romance and action and the paranormal.
This book dragged on a bit in my opinion. I think this series easily could have been a trilogy, because this last book was a whole lot of empty. Overall I like the series. I wish there was a bit more world building and less filler, but overall the writing and the characters were good.
Hooked from the first book of this series!!! I couldn't put it down and was antsy with anticipation for this latest in the series. Definitely recommend!
I want to start off by thanking the author for the ARC I received of Queen of Light. After reading this series, I was really curious on how this would end. Helena is still getting used to everything, I mean it's been less than a year since she found out she was more than she ever believed. Queen of Light was filled with everything I was hoping love, friendship, family and of course an epic battle. Helena is still surprised with all the support she has gotten, but still isn't sure how she's supposed to beat Rowena. She always seems to be a step ahead of them. This gets really frustrating and Helena is tired of losing people and seeing other lose their loved ones. Unfortunately she knows this is something inevitable when it comes to war. The pacing in this book is really good, we get some action early on, but it slowly picks up giving us a chance to learn what Helena and her circle plan on doing. Ronan and Von are my favorite characters. They're sarcastic and even arrogant at times, but their love runs deeply and it shows. This is a way of describing the whole Circle, but those two in particular. The only thing I really missed in this book is I guess is Helena developing her powers. She gets stronger during these books, but I would've loved to read more about how everything started developing. I loved how everything was described in this book and I could picture being on the battlefield with them. Meg Anne wasn't afraid to get rough with some of her characters and not everyone gets their happily ever after in this series. Even with a war on its way, I love how she took the time for us to see more of Helena and Von, but also his brother and Serena. The different POVs throughtout the book really helped stay sucked into this story and I'm sad it's over. The ending makes me wonder if we won't eventually get more in this world though. One can only hope.
Move over Harry and Frodo, The Chosen Series is quiet possibly the BEST fantasy/magic series that I have ever had the pleasure of reading! Through her careful use of words and imagery, Meg Anne draws you into a mystical world that you will never want to leave!
Helena is such an awe inspiring heroine. While she is destined for greatness, she remains humble and empathetic. Then there is Von. That guy is just perfect! He is the definition of a warrior-his strength and fierceness are unmatched, but the way he loves Helena will make you swoon! The bond that these two share is as much spiritual as it is physical. Their's is a love for the ages! Add in all the awesome secondary characters, and the result is perfection.
I really, really cannot adequately put into words how great this series is! While this may technically be an ending of sorts, I so hope there will be much more to come from this extraordinary group of characters. Quiet frankly, I would love to see "ole Timmons" let down his hair and take a walk on the wild side. Hint Hint, Meg!
Please take my advice. If you only read one series this year, this should be it!!
Seriously, this series just keeps getting better!!
Kiri Helena, her Circle (Von, Ronan, Kragen, Joquil and Timmins) and their allies in Elysia are preparing to destroy Rowena and her army of Shadows. If Rowena wants a war…it a war she will get!
The first of many battles is getting all the Elysia allies to fight as one, and not as separate groups. No small feat, might I add. They all need to put aside their differences and focus on the main objective – to finally destroy Rowena and her evil ways.
Many battles will take place; lives will be lost and new friendships will be found. Helena and Von keep working on their bond, making it as strong as possible before they go into battle. Her Circle is making strategic plans and constantly making sure everyone is on the same page.
The final battle between good (Helena) and evil (Rowena) was absolutely epic! This is one powerful show of magic and power, of lightness and darkness. I was glued to my chair, flipping those pages to see who the victor would be!
This time she not only has to fight Rowena but both of their darkest fears to win this battle. It isn't just to stop Rowena, The Kiri is fighting to survive, to keep the light. She and Von have bonded and are stronger than ever. The losses are starting to mount and the price is increasing. Battling feeling guilty and feeling pleasure for the accomplishments no matter how small is hard. But there are things happening that give her some small times of pleasure even with the changes that are a result. Finding ways to conquer the Corrupter and restore peace is paramount.
The action doesn't cease. Ms Anne has kept the action and intrigue on maximum impact throughout the series and all the way through this book as well. All of the emotions, all of the action, the losses and their impacts are felt. I love the characters and the fun but also when they gotta get down and dirty there is no hesitation. This is a team and they make sure they all know it. Love Love Love this awesomeness
From the very beginning i have been fully invested and intrigued in this exciting fantasy series by the very talented Meg Ann. I love the MCs Helena and Von...their connection is breath taking, their strength and their love for one another continually help them both to overcome whatever they are going up against, either together or separately. Ronan was also great in this book and i can see that there could be more to his story in a connecting series from Meg! The world that Meg creates in this series is captivating and so different to other fantasy books out at the moment. This is full of emotion, power, love, magic, action and passion and is highly recommended! Sad to see it end but happy to see how it ends and know that we will meet these character in future books!!
When I got this book I wanted to savor it because I didn't want this series to end but boy did it go out with a bang. Each book has more and more angst about ending the war. I know it was going to be fraught with death and fighting. Each chapter had me holding my breath about who would come out standing.
This book, heck the whole series feels like it has you right in the middle of the magical world. The words draw you into the middle of the planning, the fights and the fantasy. The characters are unique, fierce and magical.
Enter a world of magic, deceit, passion, fantasy and evil. Join the circle of the ones you want to win and help defeat the enemy.
If you like fantasy this is the series you want to pick up. Mother Tits just read it.
I loved this whole series and this final book was the best one of all; the epic fight between good and evil. Helena is a strong heroine throughout the whole book. She has to be with all of the fighting she has to do and the friends she ends up losing. There is more loss she has to deal with. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Some characters that died, I mourned along with Helena, because I really didn’t want them to leave. Throughout all the loss, she always has Von as her supporter and lover. Was this really the end of Helena and her Circle? I hope not. I hope Ms. Anne continues their journey in novellas or spin-off stories.
I received this book as an ARC as I love Meg Anne’s Chosen series. This book was awesome, just like the rest of her books. I am sad this series is complete, but look forward to new books.
I love Von so much, he is just perfect for Helena. He grounds her. Her other chosen are great to but I really love Ronan. He is like Helena’s brother. I just wish that he would find his own happiness like Selena did.
Such a great series!!! Must read for anyone who is thinking about it. Can’t wait for more Meg Anne books!!!!
I have been obsessed with this series from the very first book. I fell in love with the Helen and Von. Their characters were just so very connected to each other, the writing was amazing and the magical element of the entire story line was just like icing on the cake for me. I have read every installment of this series as soon as it came out and found each one better than the rest and this final chapter was no different, I'm only sad that it's over (guess I will have to read it all over again).
I find myself so satisfied to reach the end of this journey for Helena, Von, the Circle and the Chosen. But I also find myself sad that this is the end. This final battle will have you gasping, cursing, cheering and laughing as you follow our Heroine through heart stopping twists and turns as she learns true light and true darkness.
The conclusion of this part of the series was everything I could hope for. I have been rooting for Helena for a while and I am sad to see her story end but happy she got her happy ending. There were plenty of twists and turns throughout this book that kept me on the edge of my seat and the pages turning quickly! Thank you for this great series!
SMASHING !! I have loved this series its beautiful out of this world series with characters that I am completely attached to. This is one of my favorite fantasy series of all time and will definitely become a re-readable series for me. Thank you Meg for another book that knocked my socks off.
Queen of Light concludes the series following Helena, Von, Ronan and the rest of the chosen as they fight against the darkness of Rowena and her generals. I enjoyed the whole series and there are twists and turns throughout. Recommend.
Mother of all battles, this was epic! The culmination of everything that has happened in the past books are now at a head. After so much pain and loss, the battle to end all battles is here. There is still so much to learn, I hope Helena, Von and their merry band comes back soon.
I really enjoy Meg Anne's books. She always delivers with her stories. Love books about magic, suspense, and romance. This book has it all and is amazing.
