Elena

Life has no problem throwing curveballs. It's something I've known since I was a kid, and the one part of life that continues to fuck with me.

I have a deep, dark past. One I don't enjoy talking about and I'll avoid discussing it until the day I die. That is, until I end up at the Skulls Renegade MC.

I came here to finish a job, to take down a gang of bikers who the bureau believed to be involved in a heavy human trafficking ring. But just as life always does, it's thrown me another curveball.

Now I don't know how I'm going to get out of this--either as a felon, or as the woman who destroyed everything precious to her.

I struggled with this one for a number of reasons and I will get to them in a minute.
And while this originally started off in such a great vein for me it quickly escalated into a bit of a mish-mash of splitting threads.
If I'm honest here I think maybe there was just too much going on for me to connect fully with the story being told.
Events themselves were skimmed over a lot and I feel this contributed to me failing to feel any profound connection with the relationship that was at the centre of "Reign" (Skulls renegade #1).
So first this was extremely insta-love; like almost immediate, which in itself is fine and all, but I found it did prevent me actually forming valid opinions based on discovered inner characters.
I felt this was a missed opportunity to introduce The Skulls Renegade more thoroughly and also build a deeper understanding of the inner cogs of this MC.
I also wasn't entirely convinced that some of the happenings here were actually viable and ultimately that they were also in themselves believable; but what do I know, I could be wrong I'm no expert after all.
what I do believe is that Reed would have had a much more explosive reaction to Elena's Revelations than he actually did; After all, he is the Prez of an MC gang; even if they are relatively clean in there overall dealing compared to some others.
This at its centre did have a great premise I just think it could have been executed in a much better fashion than it actually was.
Despite my above grievances, I am still planning on continuing this series.
I'm somewhat invested here and I do want to discover where this is ultimately heading; hoping as I continue that this is going to be just a bit of a slow-burner for me.
At heart, this wasn't a bad read just a bit of a disconnected experience that I did find myself skimming near the end.
I look forward to seeing if the next instalment can pick this up a notch for me.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC copy of "Reign (Skulls Renegade # 1)" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

EDIT; Would just like to add that I have now read book two and three in this series and it was so worth continuing I am really enjoying them now; this series for me got better the more I read on, so if you do struggle with this one it's definitely worth persevering in my opinion.

I just love MC Romance books. I look for each and everyone that I can read. This was a great book. I found this one to be different. I have not read one that had a female for the president of the club. It was refreshing to me. I love how she did not put up with anyone's shit.

Elena finds out that her fiance is cheating on her with his secretary. She did not cry in her beer or eat herself to death. She just jumped into her work even more. I love the way she is tough. I love strong women and she is definitely one strong bad ass woman. I feel like anyone will like her toughness.

Reed did not let it bother him that Elena was an FBI agent. I thought that would make him standoffish but it did not at all. That to me mad him even more sexy.

You read this book and you think you have it all figured out. Then comes someone from Elena's past that shakes up everything. I loved this book and I really look forward to reading the next one.

This is the first book that I have read of Elizabeth Knox but it will not be the last one I read. Thanks for an outstanding book.

Reign is a quick MC story with some instalove and lots of hottie bikers. Yes, please!!
Honestly, the amount of typos and grammatical errors was very distracting to me. But it’s still a good read and I plan to keep reading the series, as I expect these books to keep getting better as better!

I enjoyed this book. it was a change from the typical MC book. having a female as a prez was refreshing and her chemistry with Reed was off the charts. the fact that she was a FBI agent was something that I didn't think Reed would get past but he blew all my thoughts out the water by how he dealt with it. It was pretty awesome having such a strong female leading character to go along with the strong male lead.

~ Wonderful Characters ~ Action-Packed ~ Steamy ~ Great World Building ~ Entertaining ~ Easy-To-Read ~ Page-Turner ~ Unpredictable ~

I got the prequel to this series as a freebie and really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of MC books and TV shows. After the prequel, I was really looking forward to the first book and it started out great. Then I got kind of disappointed as I got into it. The first thing that disappointed me is I am not a big fan of insta-love stories - insta-lust is real but for me insta-love esp. in a series just seems unnecessary. I would have rather the love between Elena & Reed had built up more.

My only other thing that really disappointed me was that even though I like fast-pacing most of the time, I felt some things here happened way too fast. So much happened at times that you didn't get a chance to guage how it effected the characters.

I really love the characters, and I look forward to reading how the rest of the series goes.

Regin by Elizabeth Knox is book One in the Skulls Renegade MC Series. This is the story of Elena and Reed.
Elena is a FBI agent who just broke up with a cheating fiancé. Elena is now just burying herself in her work and decided to go back in to field work. Elena used to love the field but her former fiancé had talked her out of it and became a FBI handler. Elena first assignment is to go undercover in the Skulls Renegade MC to undercover their illegal activities. But what she is finding is them helping women get out of trafficking and starting better lives along with some other honest stuff. Elena has been breaking the rules since she took this gig and now finds that she is in love with Reed. But besides her FBI live she has one former life she left when she was a younger.
I loved the instant attraction that made me not to want to put the book down...exciting read!

Reign is the first book in the Skulls Renegade series and is a good start to this new series.

This is more of an insta-love story for Reed and Elena but her past and secrets may rip them apart. I would have liked to see the relationship grow. The storyline is a good one, with an FBI agent working undercover in the MC.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation. 3.5 stars

Reign is book one in the Skulls Renegade MC series. This is a superb read. I absolutely loved it.

Elena is a fantastic character. Although she’s found out her fiancée has cheated on her she jumps into her work as a FBI agent. Reed is pure alpha yet a fabulous character. Can’t help but love him.

This is such a brilliant read. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

I just finished Reign (a Skulls Renegade Novel) book #1 in the series. And holy hot I loved it. I don't usually read MC books because they can sometimes be too dark and intense, but Reign was so well balenced! There were dark moments, wich I found intense but at the same time there were so many funny, sweet and dirty moments🔥 The story did escalade quickly but I loved that, it made it more real and I couldn't help getting sucked into the storyline. I CAN'T WAIT for Daisy's story in Redemption😍

I absolutely loved this book and didn't want it to end!! I am a sucker for MC books and Elizabeth delivers a 5 star read! Elena is such a spitfire. I loved her character and how independent she was. Reed....sigh. He is all alpha male. The chemistry between the two is smoking hot. My kindle has steam coming from the screen. This is a must read and I can't wait to see what happens next!!

(Actual rating 2.75, this doesn't quite make it to 3 as it needs ALOT more, not just a little).

I really freaking struggled to rate this book! I was super excited for this book after reading the synopsis, it was set to be an absolute winner! Until it wasn't.

The epilogue was cracking, it identified the change, the event that set everything in motion. It was written well and grabbed you. I was seeing a 5-star book already! What was Elena going to do? How tough was she? So many questions were posed making you read the next chapter.

Then chapter one, I was reading it and I was ready to scream in excitement and anticipation for this book. Again 5-star feelings. Elena is kick as confident and you get some really bad ass chick moments. You are all hopped up in all the female badassery! I'm thinking winner winner chicken dinner! This is going to be epic.

Then, we get the strongest and quickest insta-love I have ever seen. This wasn't too bad though, Elena just caught her soon to be hubby doing the naughty. Who doesn't need a rebound? Right? Still going good!

Then we get a time jump!! What?! No. Three weeks later. No building a relationship, no journey with the characters. Nothing at all but sex in a car and then a big ass time jump. Really?! Elena is now In a relationship and practically living at the MC.

Still, a little hope was there. I was thinking ok, this is fine the author has just got an epic plot coming that will make up for it. Right?! No.

A little sex, barely any dialogue and BOOM another three week time jump.

I just couldn't believe it! This book was so lacking in detail it is absurd. It had such potential. A stupid amount of potential and it just flopped. It all happened to quick, and there were events that happened that just wouldn't roll out the way they did.

My main issue was the pacing as well, this all happened to quick and there was no detail at all. Everything was brief and barely touched upon. Which in turn reduced the dimensions of the characters and the plot. The characters were fairly dull when I think back and had very little substance if any. I couldn't really tell you much about them. This book could have been more. So much more. It is truly a shame.

I had so many of the other books in this series tagged to read and they will now all be removed from my list because if they are all written in like this one they will be lacking any detail and are not worth reading despite their potential.

Genuinely gutted! :/

I'll admit, I was a little leary about reading this guy since it's from a new author, but I mean it was free. I mean, c'mon, FREE. So I gave it a shot, I read the amazon reviews which were all 5 stars and decided to download this guy and give it a shot.

And boy, was I glad I did!

Elizabeth Knox did a FANTASTIC job with character development. In the beginning of the book the strong willed, fiery Elena finds her fiancé cheating on her with his secretary (I mean that's a total jerk move right there) but instead of Elena crying and pouring her sorrows into drinking, eating a pint of ice cream and watching sappy movies she dives right back into work. I don't know if I could ever do anything like that, but from that point on I loved Elena. I wanted to see her succeed in bringing down these "notorious" MC Bikers that the FBI thinks are horrible and brutal, but when she discovers that there's more than meets the eye everything changes for her - she's become friends with these people, and is starting to fall for Reed, the MC's Prez.

Right when we think that everything is starting to be figured out, a figurehead from her past comes and stirs everything up. It turns out that the MC lifestyle isn't something that Elena is new to.

I'm not going to give too much away, but I will say that I LOVED this book. I can't wait for the next installment - and from Elizabeth's website and Instagram it's coming soon.

Elena is an FBI agent who has given up everything for the man that she's engaged to and believes she loves and loves her. To Celebrate her fiancee's promotion, she shows up at his office with only a cup of coffee and only wearing a long dark coat. Instead of Celebrating, she enters into his office while he's banging his secretary. Elena immediately dumps him, and goes to her old handler asking for an assignment asap.

Her handler finds her a job, which brings her past and present together in an explosive confrontation that she never expected.

The night Reed lays his eyes on Elena in his bar, he knew she was HIS. What started as a one night, one time thing, changed and it was everyday, and every night, until you didn't see one without the other. Then one night the Club has some guests from a partnering club, and come to find out that the Prez of that club was Elena's father whom Elena had promised she would get revenge against.

Elena does get her revenge but becomes the Prez of her father's old club. This leads into additional rolls and secrets that Elena is hiding from Reed that she is unsure how to notify him of her job. A stop from a cop leads to her secret life with the showing of her badge to get out of the ticket and allowing Reed and Elena to make it to his home safe and sound but not without questions.

Reed already knew that Elena was going to be his ol' lady the moment that she walked into the bar. What he didn't know that fateful night was that Elena was a Fed sent to infiltrate and see if there was proof of trafficking and other illegal transactions. The only thing that could be explosive besides their relationship for Elena is her taking over father's MC. There is still a lot of friendship between the men and women rather than a subservient. Reed wants anything but a subservient woman, and is proud of her accomplishments even he can forget. He finally gives in and takes what Elena is freely giving.

The two become a couple and some dealings that turn the eyes of a mexican cartel towards which has disastrous results.

I highly recommend this book.

***Received Review Copy through a blog tour hosted by Give Me Books Promotions in exchange for an honest review***

Normally I would gush over and over about a synopsis involving a woman uncover in a MC bar... just screams mischievous and foul play of the sexual tension kind. However Reign did not deliver on the expectations I had thought...

At the jump, Reign started off on a cryptically delicious start. Elena catching her husband cheating definitely was a moment of excitement, really thought it would set the bar for the rest of the novel. Elena is definitely fierce, she has a very independent personality that I could really get on board. Unfortunately from the moment Elena is thrown undercover into Reed's world, everything really escalated quickly with very little substance.

Reed is quickly obsessed with Elena. They have an immediate sexual connection that is really bump and hump yummy goodness. Very insta-love, Reed also seemingly trusted Elena way too quickly in my personal opinion. Because of their connection, it really overshadowed the rest of the group, I had almost zero dynamic connections between what was actually going on with the MC bar verses the romance.

Another issue I had because the romance was this all consuming, explosive chemistry, the flow of the plot really was hindered. Almost the entire time I was actually slightly confused as to what the true issue was - why Elena was even under cover? She was rather quick at enjoying the perks of being single and undercover. There were just plot holes I felt could have been explored a little more thoroughly without causing any detrimental issues to the romance of Reed and Elena.

Overall, this wasn't my favorite read in this sub-genre. It wasn't horrible, it just did not allow me any room for investment on the characters. Mostly due to the plot and storyline feeling rushed, very little character development also forced me to disconnect from Reign. Here's hoping Redemption delivers a little more of an appetizing romance and storyline build.

*** SPOILERS DONT READ ******
Reign.... I adored the characters but the storyline was too much for me... I am all about MCs that protect and fight against evil. But the FBI storyline was so unreal that it brought the value of this book down for me. I read a majority of books in MC and Military suspense genres so when an author has an FBI agent go undercover then breaks cover it's not sunshine and roses, I am alot the creative mind but you have to some details that will actually happen in real life. The author handles the main characters profession is exhausting. I believe She is an FBI agent, who grew up in an MC were her father was Pres and was a violent character, she then runs away at 17 when she becomes an FBI agent to bring down the bad guys , then she goes under cover uses her real name , meets the MC pres that is her target, jumps in bed with him, then her estranged father shows up, she gets revenge of her father by killing him and then takes over his MC..but rules from the MC she is trying to take down for the FBI.
It was very strange...I am all for a female MC President.... But why does she get the leadership role after she kills her father. Where is the fight from other Male members of her fathers MC?? Why doesnt the Male lead Reed pres of the Skulls do something? This is the basics of what occurred...The Vipers pres is killed and the VP of Vipers just says to El" your boss now what's the plan" . Really? Why did this happen so easily?
The storyline seemed to jump major details that would of made the story flow better. For instance Reed and El are put in FBI protective custody but then the story jumps to another character of the Skulls in which a shoot out happens at Skulls bar and the next thing El and Reed are no longer in protective custody....what is the timeline weeks, months... what happened to the threat. I am not sure if I will read book two. Then the author ends on a small cliffhanger...why?? Too many gaps in this storyline. Happy Reading!

This is the first book in the series. I had agreed to review the newest release, Book 4 – and was provided the first three (squee!!)
First, there is a lot going on in this book. It moves quickly enough that you don’t get a true feel for all the characters involved.
Second, I get the whole FBI thing, but Elena lets us know she never follows her suggested under cover information that she’s given and then later goes on to change her relationship with the FBI of what she will and won’t do. I understand this is fiction, but…
Third, there is a lot of quick sex. Almost like no bonding, just quickies throughout the book even though Reed and Elena remind us how much they love and want each other. I think it would have been great to see it in at least one or two lovemaking scenes. I’m not a hopeless romantic, but I’d love to see a bit of true passion in their relationship – although wild sex does have its perks as well.
Most chapters are from Reed or Elena’s view and they flip from chapter to chapter. That part was fine with me. I enjoy hearing the story from various points of view. Although another character was thrown in late in the book for her view point – for the timing, and situation – it made sense. It also made me wish for a few points of view from other characters during the book.
Those that find a strong female lead enjoyable should like this book. While I’m not a fan of whiny, can’t do anything on their own women, I’m not a huge fan of overly strong ones either. Elena inheriting an MC and some of the things she says and does – I just felt were a bit overboard. That being said, it still didn’t “kill” the book for me.
One other thing that I feel I need to mention – Don’t think Sons of Anarchy here – think about an MC doing good rather than being a 1% club.

Oh my...Oh my...Oh My...

Let me start off by saying I love MC books. The bad boys and all just get you going in all the right places. Well in Reign we not only have bad boys but we have a kick@ss female character. Oh and how I love when the female character is just as bad@ss as the male ones and take $hit from no one. Elena was that chick...and I loved her to pieces.

Elizabeth Knox is a brand new Author to me and let me tell you I was not disappointed with this book at all. There is suspense, there is drama, there is blood, there is lots of sexy time, there is heartache and heartbreak. The book is Raw and not lacking in holding your attention from page one through the end. The characters are also all so loveable - from Reed to Elena, to Daisy and Jenna - even the other brooding MC men.

Reed is the President of the Skulls Renegade. Elena is a FBI Agent who does undercover work. Hmmmm...how do you think that goes over?

When Elena walks into Reed’s life to infiltrate his MC and expose them for the illegal activities they are being suspected of both of there worlds ultimately get turned upside down. Lust at first sight - can be deadly for both. When the lust turns to more will they both be able to withstand it and overcome the potential problems associated with being together? I cant’t tell you more without really ruining the story. Grab your copy and find out.

The book ends leaving you wanting so much more. I read Reign in one day and couldn’t put it down. Time to go get Book 2 and find out what the story with Daisy and Kyle is...

P.S. this message is for Kyle...dude you better have a good @ss reason for doing what you did to Daisy or we are gonna have words. Just saying.

So I've known and read Elizabeth's books since she started writing and I can never say enough about her! I absolutely love her writing style so much. There isn't a single book I've read so far that I didn't devour, and I can never find a single thing that I don't like about them. With that being said, I'm so sad I had to wait so long to start this series! This is the series that started her career and my blog life just really got too in the way for me to read this one until now. Knowing this was her debut book makes me love this so much more! For being her first book, she already had a distinct style down pat, and IT WAS DAMN GOOD!

I really loved everything about this book. I've really grown to LOVE MC books, but this one is really taking the cake. I love that Elizabeth did things a little different with this MC. There's a lot of down and dirty things in the book, between the steamy coupling of Reed and Elena, but also with the MC. Elaina is just so badass in this too! I love seeing a strong female lead and Elena is THE BEST! Reed is equally as bad ass too, he's finally met his match with Elena and no surprises can stop him! From the moment we were introduced to Elena I knew that I was going to love this book so hard. Then we saw her intro to Reed I was a goner.

Everything these two do, from beginning to end, are just so powerful! With all of the twists and curves that Elizabeth throws at us, they bob and weave right with them. Speaking of those twists and curves, woah buddy did we get a lot of those! There were times where I thought I might know what would happen, but then I was taken by surprise. In fact, there were so many pleasant surprises! The whole book was really epic and strong. I cannot wait to devour the next few books!!

Elena Johnson is engaged to Rich but ends it as soon as she catches him cheating on her. Now she decides it's time for her to get back into the field as an FBI agent and is going undercover with the Skulls Renegade MC.

Meeting Reed Michaels, the President of the Skulls Renegade MC is not what she imagined and soon she gains his trust and learns what the MC club is really about.

But when her past comes back and jeopardizes everything will Reed stand behind her or will he turn on her himself?

This was a great introduction to the series and the Skulls Renegade and I am definitely curious to see how everything goes in future books.

Elena was definitely a tough girl yet we have no idea what she has had to endure until we learn about her past. Then it sheds a whole new light on everything and you wonder if she has a personal goal to bring all MC's down.

Reed was definitely not what I expected, nor was his MC club. I really thought his club was great and I hope they get to do more in future books but I wonder if everything can come crumbling down on them with the events towards the end of the book.

I was curious to see how Elena was going to handle everything that happened in the book in regards to her job and what she was given. I am hoping that she is able to keep up with her job in future books as I like the idea of everyone working together.

The ending had some great twists and I am looking forward to more in the series.

Sleeping with the Enemy?????

This story was a different kind of MC book. The writing style was also different than what I am familiar with. I needed more of a connection between Elena & Reed. All in all is was okay for me.

Elena Jacobson had it all. She was engaged to a man who just made partner at his firm and in less then 3 months they would say I do. Or not. She had taken a desk job to secure her future husbands worries about her working in the "field ". However that all changed when said future husband was giving it good to his secretary after a surprise visit from Elena.

Working in the field seemed even more required since she had no need to ponder over her no longer nuptials. Her target. Reed Michaels the President of The Mc she was trying to infiltrate. Turns out this man was going to become a much more permanent person in her life than she ever expected. Seeing a blast from her past and falling for Reed was not in her imagination. Sometimes things just happen and she was about to get a dose of reality.

I wanted this story to become more believable. How can she become an agent when her past is connected to crime. There were ither questions that came up during this story but all in all it was okay and I want to continue to dig deeper into this series to try and get a better understanding.

All those secrets she carries with her

Reign is the first book in the Skulls Renegade MC series. It is the story of Elena and Reed. She is an undercover FBI agent and he is the MC President. Let's just say that they are at opposites end of the legal spectrum but are still wildly attracted to each other. When Reed first sees Elena all he can think is "MINE" and they end up having a passionate night. But what was supposed to be only once turns into an ongoing thing and they become much more involved. But Elena has been hiding more than the fact she is an undercover agent. It seems there is something in her family that will come back and causes more secrets between them. Will Elena be able to tell Reed the truth and if she does what will he do?
This story is very interesting and has more than a few wild twists and turns as things keep changing. The relationship between Reed and Elena is very hot and more than a little dirty. I liked the fact that Elena is not submissive to either Reed or any of the other MC members. Instead she is strong and is able to take care of herself which includes standing up for herself and exacting what is necessary when it is time.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

The story revolves around Elena, an FBI agent that goes undercover to report on illegal dealing by the Skulls Renegades MC. She goes back into the field after working as a handler for the past five years to please her fiancé, who she has just found cheating on her. She can’t wait to get back in the field to find herself again. Her target is Reed, the Prez of the Skulls. Her aim is to get close to him and if they end up ‘extremely’ close, then all the better. He’s absolutely gorgeous and their attraction is mutual. Reed calls her his Siren from the off. Their relationship is passionate and steamy and although she’s crossed a line, getting to know Reed intimately has also helped her prove that the Skulls run legitimate operations. They were suspected of human trafficking when in fact it’s completely the opposite. Elena s past comes back to haunt her and she eventually finds herself as not only an Ol’Lady of a Prez, but a Prez herself.
The story is really good. It’s very fast paced which makes it a nice, easy and enjoyable read. An excellent way to introduce yourself to the world of the MC’s, and a great addition to any MC fans library.

Reign by Elizabeth Knox. This is a first time read for me by author Elizabeth Knox. This series had me hooked and I loved the characters. Reign is the 1st book in the Skulls Renegade Series. This book had me attached from the beginning to the very end, flowed so effortlessly, and I found myself completely mesmerized by each and every page. Reign is about an FBI agent named Elena Johnson, and a sexy motorcycle club Prez named Reed. After Elena Catches her fiance with another woman while visiting his office. Elena decides to leave her fiancé, and take on a new assignment going undercover with the Skulls Renegade MC to try to catch them in their illegal activities. Soon, she finds herself not only connecting to these outlaws who are not the evil monsters the government believes, but she also finds herself face to face with another MC leader, one she knows intimately from her tumultuous childhood and owes a debt of revenge to in the form of a violent end. she must still try and keep her identity as an FBI agent hidden, or everything could fall apart on both sides of her dangerous life. This book was everything it intended to be, and I loved every minute of it.

This book was absolutely amazing. So many things happen to drive a wedge between the two main characters but nothing and absolutely nothing stops them from being together. I wouldn't say they have a relationship that's love at first sight but it was insta-lust. Sometimes you just meet that one person who no matter what you can't resist, you just click and that's exactly what happened.

I love how I got a feel of more than just the main characters in the book. We get a little back round knowledge on things that have happened in the past, what some of the characters have been through leading up to this point and Elizabeth Knox does an splendid job with pulling the readers in wanting to know more about each individual.

By the way, if you haven't read this... the sex scenes are fire. She goes into full detail about how explosive sex can truly be with the right person. It wasn't some wham bam thank you ma'am scenes that I have read in different books.

Over-all this book deserves five stars. I honestly couldn't put it down. Now it's time to start reading book II "Redemption". Thank you Elizabeth for keeping me on my toes, craving more and more.

Xoxo,

Hot holy hell. This book was just what I need in the hot steamy Romance Genre. Mixed with the compelling storyline of Biker and FBI I found the story to be comical, action packed and fueled with scenes to makes your panties drop.

It’s been awhile since I became engrossed in a novel I knew up front would be filled with steamy scenes. I am glad to be back and full throttled with the Skull Renegade series.

While the pace was quick often skipping ahead 3 weeks at a time, a full story was created while allowing the reader to fill in the blank of the missing timeframe.

The characters developed quickly and while the romance department happen sight on seen it worked well and became more defined as a relationship that not only lasted just based on physical appearance.

Testing the limits of the biker realm and rewriting what negative image they do have. Adding the twist of the that became just a mind-boggling jaw dropping intense ride.

The journey also concludes with one ending while introducing us to our next heroine that will lead the way in book two.
