Or, at least the slippery downward slope heading toward the end.
My name is Nikki and with my husband Reg we're trying our best to protect our growing group of survivors. Times on the western front (well, we're in Texas...I guess that's western enough) are tough and getting tougher.
But we're believers, followers of The Way. We have the Lord on our side and we cling to Him like a baby grape to its vine.
These tough times are, without a doubt, the end times.
Fires, famine, floods, earthquakes, a one world order government take-over. Christians are hunted like animals during open season.
The "zombie apocalypse" has happened.
We'd been warned about it—about what was going to happen—for years. Centuries, actually. Everything that happened had been foretold in ancient texts, some written in the years before Christ walked the earth, and some long after He had risen from the grave.
But even the ancient texts hadn't completely prepared us for just how difficult those times would be.
I was so touched by this book. I am in awe of the bbn author's ability to pull me in, not just into the storyline but into the Spirit as well. A real blessing.
I truly enjoyed this second book in the Beginning of the End series. I don't love the jagged cliff ending that left me tearing my fingernails out but since the other three books are already out, I can deal with it. Plus, that's a sign of a great book when you hit the last page without realizing you're almost done and you NEED to know what happens next.
I will definitely be continuing the series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is 16ish. It is totally clean for language, intimacy and contains no on scene intimate violence but the subject matter and references to local and world events make me feel like 16 is appropriate.
What I liked best about this book is how the people depended on God. I enjoyed all the praying and speaking about how God turned their lives around. I liked getting to know the different personalities of the people in the story and how they dealt with their situations. When gived the ability to see if someone belonged to God or Satan; I don't know why they didn't figure out who was betraying them. It got pretty gruesome toward the end so I would recommed this to only adults who do not have nightmares over what they read.
The continuing saga of the ending times is fantastic with humor love and the challenges that or forward. It shows of the love that people have for one another. There are many trials that they must endure and and still maintaining their faith for the Lord. It is nice to read a book that has no sex or foul language. I cannot wait till the third series comes out which will be out soon.
Interesting reading and it kept my attention. Not sure who the intended audience is, but if it's young adults, she hit the mark. Her writing style is definitely not the making of a classic. She uses too much contemporary jargon that will not be understood in a few years. That said, the further I get into the series, the more I want to see how it all turns out. I do not agree with MUCH of her theology, but she still tell a good story.
I just finished book 2 in this series. I love the way the author is bringing prophecy and Bible into this story. Can't wait to start book 3. If you like and times stories with Christian and biblical background you need to read this series! Great job!
Interesting story about how things could possibly be if we survive until the end times. Trusting God has to be the number one priority and always remember that we win in the end.
VJ Dunn has used such descriptions of both wonderful and awful scenes. His storyline captures much of the intent of Revelation concerning the end times. I'm looking forward to book 3.
This is a encouraging book, sometimes sad and scary, but very informative. God is good and this lets you know , he is with you always. Thank you for the encouraging words.
