A mysterious lover, an angry brother, an ex-boyfriend, a special needs classmate... all minute pieces of a greater puzzle.
HOTEL MURDER
'AND THEN THERE WERE NONE meets SAW' Greece, 2017. A country on its knees due to the on-going economical crisis. An atrocious domestic crime. A missing billionaire. A murder/mystery hotel with an agenda of its own. The riveting end to the series!
Luke Christodoulou is an author, a poet and an English teacher (MA Applied Linguistics - University of Birmingham). He is, also, a coffee-movie-book-Nutella lover. His books have been widely translated and are available in five languages (with more on the way). His first book, THE OLYMPUS KILLER (#1 Bestseller - Thrillers), was released in April, 2014. The book was voted Book Of The Month for May on Goodreads (Psychological Thrillers). The book continued to be a fan favorite on Goodreads and was voted BOTM for June in the group Nothing Better Than Reading. In October, it was BOTM in the group Ebook Miner, proving it was one of the most talked-about thrillers of 2014. The second stand-alone thriller from the series, THE CHURCH MURDERS, was released April, 2015 to widespread critical and fan acclaim. The Church Murders became a bestseller in its categories throughout the summer and was nominated as Book Of The Month in three different Goodreads groups. DEATH OF A BRIDE was the third Greek Island Mystery to be released. Released in April, 2016 it followed in the footsteps of its successful predecessors. From its first week in release it hit the number one spot for books set in Greece. It was BOTM in the group Mysteries and Crime thrillers and chosen as one of the best mysteries for 2016 by ReadFreely. MURDER ON DISPLAY came out in 2017 and enriched the series. Luke Christodoulou has also ventured into ‘children's book land’ and released 24 MODERNIZED AESOP FABLES, retelling old stories with new elements and settings. The book, also, features sections for parents, which include discussions, questions, games and activities. He is currently working on the fifth book of his planned Greek Island Mysteries book series. He resides in Limassol, Cyprus with his loving wife, his chatty daughter and his crazy newborn son. Hobbies include travelling the Greek Islands discovering new food and possible murder sites for his stories. He, also, enjoys telling people that he ‘kills people for a living’.
This collection of police procedural murder mysteries left me wanting more in the series but the fifth book rules that out. I grew attached to the two main characters, and the younger police officers introduced in the 4th novel. The settings were well described and took me back to my travels in Greece. The plot was good and I was left guessing to the end of each one who was the murderer. My only disappointment was what appeared to be either a need for a better translator if these were first written in Greek, or another detailed pass of editing as there were numerous errors in word usage and grammar. I plan to buy Christodoulou’s collection of 12 short stories next.
Having just returned from Crete where I volunteered to teach English to students 9-16 years old, I really looked forward to this series of 5 novels. Basically, the novels have good plots, lots of food references (and Greek cuisine is fantastic as are the people of Crete). The problems were so many typos, commas tossed in everywhere, grammar iffy, an abundance of sex (normal and abnormal) and unbelievable gore. This distracts from the novels which could be really worth reading. And Mr Christodoulou doesn't begin to compare to James Patterson but may some day.
Well written, I enjoyed the characters they are well rounded. The books have a good flow & are well researched. My only issue was in book 5, the character of the bishop is married ... In the Greek Orthodox Church the hierarchy of the Church consists only of "archmandrites" (unmarried priests)
I absolutely loved this series and feel in love with the main characters! It had me sitting on edge of my seat and staying up late! A fabulous writer that I will be following
A fantastic series about two Greek detectives that work the Greek Islands. Great description of the secenery and really gives you a feel of being in the country. Lots of excitement with great characters
Could not even finish the first book of this series. The constant use of the fuck got to be too much. I have been known to use it myself but this was over the top. But grammar checking was decidedly missing and for a college professor unforgiveable.
I really enjoyed the box set of 5 books set in Greece The books I read are about this American cop working in Greece and solving murders I hope you enjoy the books as much as I do
Gruesome and hard to believe some of the storylines but well written and a page turner. Read all 5 books in a row but would suggest breaking it up with other books in between.
