Deadman Lane has it all. Danger, love, fighting. Bold characters who don’t put up with a lot of crap. Everyone is accepted…except judgmental b*tches.
EPISODE 1
Settle down, I don’t think so. Wandering and fighting are in my blood.
I’m someone’s heir!
An ancient lawyer finds me and says I’m the heir of a man I’ve never heard of. Now I’m supposed to claim my inheritance. As unbelievable as this is, curiosity gets the better of me. It doesn’t take long to find out I had a Pimp Daddy of an uncle. A Pimp Daddy! He changed but he left me an apartment complex that is still shady as sh*t. I have to deal with it even though my Gypsy blood is screaming to move on. The inappropriate ghosts in the stairwell don’t help matters. There is no way I’ll stay here.
EPISODE 2
My uncle left me an apartment complex filled with nutty people. Spinning Drug Dealer, Crossdresser, Darkolicious, Big Ears, Troll Lover, Rainbow Teen, Cookie Maker, and Rockie are just too much. After meeting all of the tenants, I know I can’t stay. They’re annoying as hell. And what’s with those demon eyes in the lobby? Maybe the fish oil pills they’ve caused me to start taking will kick in before I have heart failure. The need to sell this monstrosity and get back to my wandering lifestyle is burning me up. Nobody holds a Draper down.
EPISODE 3
I need to sell this b*tch. Being in this monstrosity of an apartment complex with all these uniquely crazy tenants is having a negative affect on me. My system is so out of whack I’m taking extra doses of fish oil pills every damn day. Darkolicious and Yellowlicious are at it today but they better not f**k up my sell. The crazy dog’s need to stand statue still will keep her in line. That’s one good thing.
EPISODE 4
The scent of flowers and toxic exhaust blasts in through the open windows. I still haven’t found a buyer for this monstrosity. Gun shots ring through the air and nobody stops to call 911. Danger dominates this neighborhood and the realtors know it. Looks like I could be here for a while. Fighting is in my DNA so when a prick gets out of hand, I spill blood. Nobody parks on my f**king grass.
EPISODE 5
This monstrosity is going to be the death of me. By the end of the day, I’ve flipped out and punched Riley when I shouldn’t have; the front door will be locked a lot more often; and I’ll never ignore my gut again. I’m out for blood and I won’t stop until I get it.
EPISODE 6
I’m still here in this baby-sh*t-green monstrosity. The tenants are still quirky and messed up. But I’m starting to see why my Pimp Daddy of an uncle loved them.
Bullies foolishly circle us. Rockie’s knocked herself out again. Blood is spilled. Deadman Lane residents don’t put up with any sh*t!
EPISODE 7
Why can’t there be peace? Laidback days. Easy living. I guess you don’t get that on Deadman Lane. Rainbow Teen’s bully pulls a chickensh*t move that forces us to think fast. And the renter in apartment number eight has murder on the mind. This monstrosity is f**ked up but its pulling me in.
EPISODE 8
Wandering has left my Gypsy blood but that doesn’t mean my life is boring.
a phenomenal and gripping read that will hook you from the first page. From the first paragraph the personality of Yoska Draper really erupts from the page, instantly gripping the reader’s attention. I love books like this, ones that get you invested in the first few lines. There isn’t a single character that wasn’t vibrant and unique. I loved Draper’s intense and opinionated personality. While he has a view and opinion on everything, he’s also one to embrace people and their difference without prejudice, and able to kick ass when the need arises. I loved this, loved how his character was so intense, and watching him grow and change as he spends time in the converted mansion was executed brilliantly.
This is not my usual genre, but I have to say, this strange story sucked me in and I couldn't stop reading it. I loved all the quirky characters! This was a light, humorous read, but with a deep message of love, friendship, and acceptance. I'm truly disappointed that the book ended...note to KJ Walt: Please continue this story!!
