Victor Fly is no stranger to the harder way. Growing up in Lower East side Manhattan has never been a piece of cake for this street hustler. He struggles day in and day out to provide for his family and he never comes up short. The grind was engraved in his heart ever since his mother put him out on the streets to hustle for his meal. His only dream is to liberate himself and his girlfriend from the oppressive walls of his mother’s crowded house. That wish is granted when Victor crosses paths with a certain drug kingpin from the Bronx. A business bond is created between the two, causing a string of very peculiar events that turns his life upside down and ultimately giving birth to the rise of Victor Fly! He finds himself embracing a different stage that not only belongs to that of a hustler’s but that of a gangster’s. Where big money, jewels, cars, beautiful distractions and most of all- power becomes all too common. But Victor quickly learns that there is a price to pay for the good life. Soon after he inherits his new heaven on earth, he realizes that there will always be someone that wants to take it. The question is, will any taker be able to go up against Victor? Grimy plots, betrayal, and pressure is applied in the worst way but he is determined to fight like the heavy weight champ to keep his throne, and he gets down right ruthless to do it. Who will be the victor over Victor Fly. Or will he be the last man standing?
Ignore the one stars (the troll hid them on here) but they are on Amazon. They all came from the SAME, weird, ill minded reader whose obsessed with me and tried to sabotage me.
Let me start by saying this was a good standalone. Victor Fly was definitely something else! I loved him in the beginning of the book and how he catered to China Doll. He was determined to move up in the world and make their life better...together. He became my least favorite when he yielded to temptation. From the beginning I felt like there was something sneaky or shady about Apollonia. I think my favorite character in the whole book was China Doll. She was considered as the strong female in the book, especially with the way she stepped up and was able to bounce back after having a weak moment. She knew exactly what she needed to do to get her self together and didnt back down from her decision. The author did a really good job portraying the storyline and believable characters. You wont be disappointed.
Fly Love was a very good read.Victor lived fast and hard. And Chyna doll held him down to the fullest even tho he betrayed her. It’s really sad what happened to Mahogany. And to think most of the bad events that took place were the result of a jealous crooked cop. There was a lot of moves made out of jealousy and I’m sure if Apollonia hadn’t met the fate she did she would have strongly reconsidered ever getting involved with that pig.Overall,Victor played the game of chess and was crowned King in the end.
This book was a great read! It took me a minute to get into but once i did i enjoyed it. It was also my first time reading from this author...i loved the way Doll loved Victor that’s that unconditional love that I’m sure everyone hopes to have in real life.
I enjoyed this story mahogany was my favorite character. I would have never known that this was the author first time writing urban lit but it was amazing. Keep the stores coming.
Didn't make much sense, not sure if he's supposed to be the boss or all talk while pretending. Story is choppy and jumps from one thing to another so it doesn't flow, I can't with this. 11/22/2019
