Tiffany is trapped in a life she never wanted for herself. The man she fell in love with turned out to be a lazy, good-for-nothing womanizer. Night after night Tiffany comes home to Blake's physical, mental, and verbal abuse. She's tried leaving it in the past, but somehow he always finds her. Each time, she comes back and convinces herself things will get better. Then one day Blake beats her for the last time. Tiffany decides death is the only way out--and she's not the one being buried. Her life takes a drastic turn as she attempts to live the life she's always wanted.

Lucky and Quick are childhood friends trying to make a name for themselves. They have been working corners, proving their loyalty to the streets and waiting for their big break. When they finally get the chance to prove themselves, they quickly climb up the ladder and find themselves working for the top dogs. Everything happens so fast that they end up on opposite sides of the fence and become enemies.

Quick and Tiffany meet under unfortunate circumstances, but they instantly connect and fall in love. Tiffany is pulled into Quick's street world full of lies and revenge. Lucky and Quick are constantly going against each other, and the friendship seems to be lost forever. When the opportunity comes along for both of them to be on the top spot, will they be able to rekindle the friendship?

I believe this book was ok, I read it all and I actually liked it. However, the ending was just not ok, it seamed like the author just wanted to throw that in to hurry up and end the book. And did anyone else notice the typo???

Very predictable urban fiction. The protagonist Tiffany was a young lady with a good head on her shoulders but in a terrible abusive relationship. She was eventually saved by a hustler. I hated that. Why can't there be strong women in these stories. This author continues to use the Romeo and Juliet/Bonnie and Clyde/Mickey and Malory story line. It is predictable and overdone.

On a postive note, the story is is a quick read. I read this book in about three and a half hours. I need a little more originality. This formulaic story telling is getting a bit old. And the ending was perhaps the worst ending in the history of books. I saw what the author was trying to do but it just lacked. The female protagonist, Tiffany, had potential to be so much more than just the wife of a drug dealer. The transitions were weak at best. Toward the end we are pushed ahead a few years without even knowing it. I give this book three stars because I saw what the author was trying to do.. just didn't achieve the goal. Could have been so much more.

Tiffany was a victim of perpetual abuse by Blake. She tried to move out once and saved up some cash. Blake beat her up at her job and she moved back in with him. Quick used to eat at the IHOP and saved her from a beat down. She also built up enough heart to defend herself. She and Quick hooked up but Blake wasn't having it. He had the nerve to think that she was supposed to come back to the pain. It was a rough and tumble novel that featured Sosa and Turf as two gangsters who were living on the edge. Quick summer read.

This book was weak. I got tired of the domestic violence scenes. The same character that saved the woman from her abusive boyfriend bashes and slaps other women in the face. The characters were unrealistic. Gangsta drug dealers would never shed tears in front of their crew. I understand loyalty but some of the scenarios just left me rolling my eyes. I myself cant write a 200 page book so I cant be too critical but
I was so confused at the timeline. How did 3-4 years pass before anybody made a move? What happened in the mean time? I felt like this book should have finished up the original plot lines then ended. Throwing in the fact that a few years passed after reading what seemed like a few days passed was confusing.
There were way too many names! Then some of the characters had nick names on top of real names which made it even harder to keep up on why this character wanted revenge on that character.
AND lastly, why is this called obsession? I was trying to figure this out the whole time. I thought Tiffany was the main character but who/what was she obsessed with? Is the title about Kat? We barely read about her. Is it about the drug dealers' obsession with money and murder?

Free w/ Audible w/ a great narrator* Tiffany’s BF Blake is an abusive a$$, never getting over her laughing at another man’s joke when he went to pick her up. The B Plot is about a drug dealer called Quick (he knows Blake) w/ a crazy jealous GF named Kat. Tired of fighting, Quick trades her up for a stripper named Ivy, likely to cross paths w/ Tiffany. Likewise, Quick’s most loyal shooter accidentally costs him the most important person in his life. This web is good though often worded with cliches or like it’s unedited: “the gun shot put a stomach hole in her stomach.”

Assaulting cops is surprising but makes no sense the drug dealers get away so easy. There’s lot of women who get beat on, which happens, but it gets repetitive and, when they deal with killers, how are they always surprised? The romance at end is nice if not unrealistic, girls who hardly do more than compliment and make breakfast getting houses bought for them. The actual end is decent and twisty, bullet-riddled.

this book was alright the narrator could have read with some type of excitement and emotions. It sound like she was reading to a kindergarten class, but I wanted to know what was gonna happen next. Everything was going OK til it got to the part where Tiffany left here door unlock at the grocery store. It went way downhill from there. Maybe if Blake would have kidnapped Tiffany and then had Quick and the crew to come look for her and a shoot out occurred between them and Blake verses the cops, and Quick be the hero and they all live happily ever after.

Wow...that's all I can really say. I've read books by Treasure Hernandez before so I know she's a decent author.....but ummmm, who said this was okay to print. AWFUL. It was a hodge podge of random urban fiction events thrown together. Unbelievable sequences, under developed characters and just poorly put together from start to finish.

Not a bad listen. I listened to the Audiobook on my drive yesterday. The narrator could’ve did a little better with the voices but the storyline was ok. But honestly if I was Tiffany, that dude would’ve only got one time for me. Then it would have been “Rockaby baby”

This book had potential but I’m not sure why the author thought it was smart to end the story the way she did. I’m flabbergasted to say the least.

It was certainly a seedy tale and I felt like the MANY sexual encounters were more explicit than necessary, but it was a good read overall.

It was a good read, but I don't like the abuse part. It was a bit hard to get through. I need a pallette cleanser before I can read the second one.

Tiffany was in an abusive relationship for so long. She worked, he took her money and raped her daily. She caught him cheating on her in her own apartment and he repeatedly denied it. When Quick walks into the diner where she worked, the two had an attraction, but knew they shouldn't act on it. She because of her abusive boyfriend and him because of the street business he was in. Over time, Quick came to her rescue from her abuser but that only caused her more trouble. After her boyfriend goes to jail, Tiffany takes a chance on Quick. The two find a love like no other and literally stay together 'til death do them part...

It's crazy how one person can feel as they own another person

Tiffany and Blake once in love now its like living in a nightmare for Tifffany everyday why she stayed seems like out of fear and i am just she was able to overcome this abusive relationship before it killed her. It seems as if Blake has 9 lives i cant believe he lived the last encounter with Tiffany. Quick and Tiff definitely a bonnie and clyde duo. I just think is she didnt run would the outcome be different? I really wanted to know if major pain and lucky ever took over the streets together wish this book had a sequel

I love this book and at the end it was so sad...I was like damn that was mess up really but Tiffany was really a ride or die chick she went through so much in her life and she ended up finding a good guy but in the end her past came back to haunt her...I really enjoy reading this and I hope Treasure Hernandez bring more to the table

This book was a great read. I was disgusted at the beginning when Blake was doing all that bs to Tiffany. & I dont blame her for what she did neither times. Quick was a good guy,& Kat just took that for granted. Lucky I feel put money over his friendship with Quick, but I was so glad they made peace before what happened at the end. Oh & Blake also got what he deserved at the end.

I actually love this book. I loved Quick and Tiffany. the only thing I hated was the ending but if it had to end that way, then it should have ended just that way. She was a ride or die and they were soul mates. I just wished Tiffany could have had more smarts, instead of relying on Quick so much. I really enjoyed it, It felt like a movie to me. Great read.

This was one hella book. I really enjoyed it I couldn't put it down. Quick and Lucky remind me of two people I know in real life. This book was fire from the first page. They took care of business no matter who it was. I can't wait to see what part 2 has in store. Great read you won't be disappointed at all.

The book was okay I guess I expected more out of Quick and Tiffany at the end didn't expect that their obsession to be the death of them. Overall the book was good!
