“Children are born to be happy” is a phrase by Cuba’s national hero, José Martí. This is a beautiful book, with exquisite illustrations, that tells a cheerful and simple story of the daily life of a Cuban child. The book demonstrates the traditions and customs of children and families in Cuba as well as iconic places in Havana where Yadira lives. The priority given to child development in Cuba is an example for Latin America and the world.
