The war with the deadly Host continues, only now they have secret alien allies bolstering their efforts. Our former general has defected. Our fleet of battleships took a battering in the first battle. And I'm trapped in another part of the galaxy trying to find my parents and, ultimately, my way home.
The situation looks bleak, but I have ancient Navigator technology at my disposal, and I'm mad as hell. Then there's this weird alien information bomb inside my head that I can't access despite it suggesting great power.
With new enemies lining up to thwart my plans, I'll need to muster all the courage and skill if I'm to beat the odds and get back to Coalition space before the Host overwhelm my people and take over the galaxy. If the Host win, the Coalition worlds will burn. Its population will be slaughtered, and there will be no hope for any of us.
But I have a ragtag crew of heroes willing to push back against our foes regardless of the odds. The Coalition will prevail once more, even if I have to die for the cause.

Great...but ending was...rushed?
This book was an exciting read..but the ending came in a rush..with unsatisfactory contrivances used to close out the storyline. Have you ever read a book that was exciting...until the author boxed up the ending abruptly with a big smiley face sticker? That is how this seemed to me. Don't get me wrong...its still worth reading...I guess I was hoping for a unique twist. I'll still buy the next in the series tho!

This book picks up the story straight after the events of book one. The Blackstar crew, led by Kai Locke, are looking for the lost navigator's to try and stop a war from opposing sides of The Veil. This is a good book, but did not really reach the levels of book one. There are a lot of good characters, but it seemed to only advance Kai. The ending also seemed a bit rushed and tried to make everything happy ever after!!

This is the second book in the series thus far. The characters are interesting, interwoven, and adequately complex enough to develop a relationship with the reader. In my opinion, the writing is better, less overuse of descriptive adjectives as in the opening chapter of the first book. By the end of the book I found an emotion connection with the characters to be pleased with the outcome.

Enjoy
This is a young adult book (maybe all space opera is?) and I think there was one before I haven’t read. But the author is talented and I enjoyed it. Starts slowly but great battle scenes at end.

If you love a Space Opera...
If you love a Space Opera this is a good one! This book and the first one in the series - takes you all over galaxies with a good tell that will keep your attention! Highly recommend it!!

An excellent story
From the first book to this one, the storyline is enhanced and bolstered into an usual and unexpected ending. Well worth reading

This a great audio book. I love this story. I think I would love to see it in real life. But the story is so interesting and I really recommend it!
