Recurring Consequences

Rate this book

Tyson has a history. Actually, he has thousands of them.

A racy paranormal romance from Irie Parker, Recurring Consequences follows Tyson Van Hann as he searches for love—and redemption for his past lives. For Tyson has been reincarnated thousands of times, living each life as a murderer. Somehow, he must change.

A vision of a blood-red moon convinces Tyson his moment for self-transformation has finally arrived. At the same time, an old acquaintance reenters his life. Amber is an exotic dancer who needs a safe place to stay. Tyson opens his life—and his heart—to her, never suspecting she harbors a dangerous obsession for him. Her acts may send Tyson on another cycle of his ongoing supernatural reincarnation epic journey, or they might provide the catalyst he needs to truly change.

A contemporary spiritual urban fantasy, Recurring Consequences thrusts you into a psychic redemption mystery unlike any other. This is New Age science fiction at its most evocative.

I won this book as an ARC from a giveaway in return for an honest review...

I am sad to say that I am not really sure what the point of this book was...I really don't have any words. It was kinda all over the place throughout the whole book...and as soon as you thought it was taking one turn, then it took another. All in all, pretty confusing. I didn't care for this book at all, but it also wasn't the worst book I've read either. The only reason it didn't get one star, was because I was able to finish it in hopes that the premise of the book was going to click at some point. But, that never happened. Not for me, anyways.

Tyson is a quadriplegic and begins the book as an unlikable character. His embittered attitude towards women made me want to read more to find out why he was this way. As the story gains momentum I could see why he was so bitter.

The cool part about it was that he was able to shake his negative outlook and adopted an attitude of change.

I got the sense of being in his head and what it felt like to move around in a power wheelchair like a quadriplegic does. There is even a sex scene about two thirds in and that was interesting to see through the point of view of a paralyzed person.

There is a whole lot of other things going on in this story, but my favorite part was getting to see and view the world through the eyes of a disabled man.
