I'm a world-renowned archaeologist who happens to have a special gift--I can read artifacts and see their history. It makes me particularly good at my job and has pulled me into the world of paranormal treasure hunting. But I knew about the paranormal long before acquiring my PhDs. The night a monster killed my parents opened up a whole new, awful world to me.

Now, I'm on the hunt for pieces of the artifact they died protecting. When I'm betrayed by my partner and left for dead, I'm forced to team up with the last man on the planet I want anything to do with. Dr. Dean Vane... a monster just like the one who ruined my life. But I need his help to locate the artifact and stop an even greater threat from wreaking havoc on the world, and he needs my help in finding his brother, the King of Inferna, another world I didn't even know existed.

I certainly didn't plan to fall for his lusty charms, but as my own powers grow, I'm more drawn to him than ever. When we get trapped on a world of dragons, I see a side of him I didn't expect and must face my own prejudices.

Surrounded by danger, with my core beliefs challenged and my life hanging in the balance, I must decide who I can trust, and who is really the villain in my story. But in seeking the truth, will I destroy everything in the process?

I look at each of us. A druid, a vampire, an ancient Fae, and a Shade. All of us equals, all of us comrades. And for a moment, I cannot believe that the goal I set out to achieve so many years ago, of peace between our races, has finally been accomplished. --Asher, Prince of Pride

I have loved this world and all of these characters for such a long time, that it is sad to say goodbye. This novel serves as a bridge to bring together and connect so many of our beloved KK characters from various worlds: we have all of our original VG members in Ari, Asher, Dean, FEN, Kayla, Tavian, along with our second generation in Iris, Elias, Arias, and now Alex, and even Sky and Kaden of Nirandel. I think KK did a fantastic job of intertwining all of these characters and worlds seamlessly, and it was wonderful seeing the different generations interact with one another while still maintaining the fantasy-adventure and humor elements that are so intrinsic to their novels. I loved being able to see a different and more archaeological side to Dr. Vane (ha!) and watching him finally get his HEA! He is probably most deserving of happiness--along with Asher--and I love that he's found his girl at last.

Overall, this novel was a great coming together story to bring about closure. It was ultimately about family and love and acceptance and being surrounded by those who care about you. I really enjoyed the extended epilogues and seeing everyone one last time. I hope KK decides to visit these characters and world again one day, but I'm truly satisfied with the ending. Definitely recommend this entire series if you haven't started yet :)

My Dean, the usually shirtless Prince of Lust

My gorgeous Fen, Prince of War :)

My Elias, the bad boy rebel Prince aka Iris's beau..

My Asher, the impeccably fashionable Prince of Pride

My Tavian Gray, the mysterious and powerful tiger-shifter

My Niam, the still weird Prince of Gluttony

My Ace, the inventive Prince of Sloth

My Levi, the terribly brutal Prince of Envy

My Kaden, just add in the red scarf....

Fallen star was decent good read by karpov kinrade and loved Alex stone character it was very unique and different compared to either Ari iris or any other mc in the vg universe the plot was decent and executed decently but as with the last book unseen lord there's been draw back in quality of the content of the books to me atleast but change does happen with rl things happening to be considered as well and while I may just be too used to the original books and how they were done fallen star was decent but left questions from first hunter and unseen lord still unanswered I know we can't have everything we want nor should we but leaving somethings as a mystery now where as in previous books yes there was some unanswered things but it wasn't as well executed in the current books but who knows what future holds so over all decent but with more time could have been better

Doesn’t seem at first like it belongs in the Vampire Girl universe, but wait. Think of a paranormal combination of Indiana Jones and Lara Croft, then things become otherworldly. Lots of switches and unexpected characters further connect with the VG world. Makes a great finish to all the books, bringing them together. (It is the last, isn’t it?)

Archaeologist Dr. Alex Stone and her partner, Trevor, discover a piece of a powerful artifact deep below a cavern. He betrays and tries to kill her. But Dean Vale, aka Inferna’s Prince of Lust, rescues her. He has been quietly using his love of archaeology to search the earth for rare but dangerous paranormal artifacts. Now the two have to work together to find all the pieces before the bad guy does..

The ending was unsatisfactory. First, we don’t see what happens with Dean’s final quest. Then all the epilogues get too sappy as they try to wrap things up. I skimmed through them.

Footnote: 1) Found more errors in the eBook version of the omnibus. Like on page 954 (there’re probably more earlier in the book).: ‘ The walls screech, grown (groan), and begin to close.” Page 960 “walks over to Levi’s unconscious form and proceeds (kicks) the vampire-hard… More sloppy editing.

2) How in the world would having both the walls and the ceiling come together work?

Fave scenes: escaping the cavern, Alex’s Smart House, and Alex’s final surprise for Levi.

A interesting and intense addition to the series.

I've enjoyed the Vampire Girl series of books and this one was no exception. I'm a big fan of all the characters in this book and I loved being Dr. Alex Stone. She is an awesome addition to the cast of characters and I love that Dean has finally met his match.
This story had some twists and turns to it that I wasn't expecting. Some were intriguing and others bordered on comic even after the explanations for them. Also, in this book Iris'third fear is finally revealed. Can you guess what it is? Keep trying or read the book because I'm not.
This book can be read alone, you don't need to read the whole series to enjoy it, but the rest of the books add countless layers to the story, filling in background.
This book is on m6 re-read list. I most definitely recommend it.

Another great addition to the Vampire Girl series. I love the women of the Vampire Girl books. Alex Stone is another strong female lead with a great wit and a strong sense of what's right. In a perfect world, I wish we could have gotten to know Alex and Dean more. But this isn't a perfect world and life throws obstacles in our way. Knowing the heartache and obstacles Karpov Kinrade went through while trying to get this book out, I'm amazed at the story they were able to churn out. While it's short, it's still a great story with the excitement, the action, and the twist and turns one expects from a Karpov Kinrade book. This book ties up most of the loose ends from the entire series and ends with the importance of family and friends and the love they all share.

A decent read

I've been an avid reader of KK for years now and very much enjoy most of what they put out. I liked Iris and her story (First Hunter and Unseen Lord) quite a lot, but this book fell a little flat for me. There was never a point where I was just sucked in and didn't want to put it down. I had a hard time creating a clear picture/voice for Alex. While I enjoyed the threads of the importance of friends, family, and love, as well as the horrors that can result from social injustices woven throughout, there were also a few times where it got preachy, which I didn't enjoy at all.

In all, still a good read, and definitely buttons up VG in a for now kind of way that's satisfying.

This book introduces a new character to the Vampire Girl Universe, Alex Stone. She is a smart, successful archaeologist with a unique power and a thirst for knowledge. She is also politically minded in some regards. We also get to see more of Dean, Prince of Lust. The pacing is decent and the plot/characters are interesting. There are some interesting twists, true to Karpov Kinrade fashion. As for cons, it is shorter so things can't be explored as fully. Some things seemed to be resolved kind of quickly. Overall, it was a a decent story. I am voluntarily reviewing this book, gifted to me by the author with no obligation.

Great read!

Another great book from Karpov Kinrade and another unique character voice. Alex is a great addition to the Vampire Girl series. This one can be read without reading the series already but it enhances the story if you do because of the tie in characters. The story is well told and will keep you wanting more with an ending that is completely unexpected. Alex Stone is an archeologist with a unique gift for understanding artifacts. She ends up meeting the archeologist she is competing with only he is not what she expected. Danger, suspense, love, and loss all await you when you read Fallen Star! A must read in my mind.

So this book starts off with Alex stone trying to find a treasure for work. She knows she needs to keep it and it does not go well. She almost died but is saved by the prince of lust, Dean. Even though she wants to hate him, she just can't. Things spin out of control fast. People who were thought to be dead aren't. And she has to sacrifice everything to save everyone. You get to see characters from all the other books. The story moves on a great pace.
I love the characters and the story. They feel so real and just suck you in until you realize the books almost over.
Must read series. Although you can read these alone, having read them all helps.

Loved it

Let me start by saying that I loved Alex Stone. She was so different from other characters within the VG world, but she fit right in.

This story is great because we get to learn more about characters that we've come to love. I've loved finding new sides to Dean, his turned out to be a far more complex character and I've adored discovering his other sides.

This book has tidied everything up nicely for most characters, yet it has left parts which could be further explored later on.

I cannot wait to see what eventually comes up for the VG series

The adventure continues

Fallen Star was a blast and reminded me why I am a fan of the VG universe. I loved Alex Stone and she wasn't too much like the other heroines. Strong female characters are my favorite. This book ties up most loose ends neatly if not a little too easily or quickly. I would have liked it to be a little longer and explore more of the main character's past. I hope there will be another one. This book is a must read for fans but it is part of a series so make sure you start with Vampire Girl.

Fallen Star is a quick, fun read! I loved getting to know Dean better, and Alex is a fun main character too (although not as fun as Iris). I wish the book had been a bit longer and had a more substantial plot, but Karpov Kinrade deliver a clever plot twist in their signature style that keeps you reading! Most of the loose ends in the Vampire Girl story line get tied up in this book which is nice, although I'd like to see more in the series in the future. And for those of you who have read First Hunter, we finally get to find out what Iris's third fear is!!

Story starts off with readers meeting Dr. Alex Stone, Archeologist. With that being said a few pages in and the excitement starts with near drowning and death, Alex wakes in Dean's realm. Alex has no idea how important she is to the survival of the 9 worlds, Dean however has a pretty good idea. Skip ahead to Levi and Alex's mom showing up! That was a punch to the story. Without spoilers, let's just say the story is fabulous and with this addition to the saga it wont disappoint! Thank your KK for another great book!

Alex has made a name for herself, one that focused on her accomplishments not her gender nor her looks. Doing her job, finding the unobtainable have her a great deal of accomplishment until she was double crossed. Had it not been for Dean Alex may have died.

The two of them embark on a journey that leads to unexpected answers to questions Alex didn't even know she had.

Full of characters you can't help but love and for for. Another great installment in the Vampire Girl saga. I look forward to more books soon.

Fallen Star is Book 7 in the Vampire series...
Alex Stone is the main character and Dean Vane is the C0-character of this story line.. they are Archaeologist... which means they investigate artifacts of the past.
This book is filled with major excitement from the start... it will hold you on the edge of each page and keep you wanting for more.
There are a few major surprises and a twist or two... but I have to say I Loved it...
If you want to know what happens you need to read the book..

Honestly, Karpov Kinrade had me at Vampire Girl because I've always been a fan of this world, but I was especially drawn to the story line's archeological angle. I never get tired of artifacts, adventure and mystery.

Alex Stone is dynamic and sassy. We know Dean, Prince of Lust, but I really enjoyed seeing a new side to him.

While the first 4 books in the Vampire Girl series remain my favorite, I have enjoyed the additional installments and Fallen Star is a lot fun.

Laughter, secrets and suspense.

Alex Stone is an archaeologist searching for an artifact. She is thrown into a world she knows nothing about, and is sent on a rollercoaster of emotions and threats to her life. There are some appearances of characters from previous Vampire Girl books, secrets unlocked. Lots of laughter and suspense as I've come to expect from Karpov and Kinrade. Thumbs up for another great book.

I just love this series. VG is an original series with original ideas on classics. I love all the twists and turns, the surprises that are constantly jumping out and grabbing you when you least expect it. KK creates world so brilliant and describes them so well that I can see them in my mind while reading and the characters are so vibrant, bold and lively that you can't help but get hooked from page one, every time! This book was no different and I can't wait for what they bring us next.

Oh my god I love Alex Stone, she’s such a great character and utterly perfect for Dean Vane in every way! This book is great in that it ties up almost all the loose threads from the series and would actually make a great conclusion to it all. Fantastic story I highly recommend.
I did receive a complimentary copy of this book, and I chose to leave a review.

It was nice to revisit some of the Princes from the earlier VG books; well, nice for most of them, anyhow. Twists. And a joke about twists. And, for the first time, I would swear, not a twist where I expected one! And, I really admire Dr. Stone; what she did for everyone was, well, heartwarming. And as someone else said, liked seeing a different side to Dean.

I feel like this book is the end of the series. Everything seemed to be wrapped up in a nice little bow. Well if it is the end of the series then I am happy with how it ended. I really like the Alex's character. She was a pretty cool female lead. I enjoyed Dead and seeing some of the characters from earlier books. Overall a good book.

Did it again

Thrown into a new story in the same world. New characters with there own personality. I love it... but what really makes it is that the old characters personalities shine through as well. I highly recommend this book for a new adventure and to get glimpses of the epic loves that transpired in the VG world.

Another good story.

This was a really good exciting conclusion to the series and will definitely be reading them again. However I am not a fan of the increasing trend to publish shorter but more frequent novels increasing costs. I won't invest in any more books or series that do not average more than 300 real pages per book.

Best books ever

These 7 books are the best I have ever read by far. They take you into a whole new world and the characters are so interesting you grown to love them. Or hate them. I’m definitely going to look for more books like this to read. And I really hope that they get turned into movies very soon. Looking forward to that. Thank you so much for these books. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely Loves this Series

I really enjoyed this series, I love how it all ties to the original four books of Vampire Girl. I have to admit I was a little sad when I heard Vampire Girl the Moonlight Prince was going to be the last. I am beyond thrilled that it continues on and we can see hw the future unfolds. Looking forward to to reading the next chapter.

I was a little bit wary that I might resent a new character "muscling" her way into this series but I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline was good and fit well into the universe. The interaction between the characters was interesting and enjoyable to read. Great read.
