Ha, this book is an emotional swing. Up and down. Non-stop.
At last we're given a teenage heroine who acts like a teenager. She's gullible, prone to rash decisions and hysterics.
Faye's mother has married a rich man, gone on a cruise and asked her old-time acquintance to keep an eye on Faye. Faye dislikes the man immensly and has always kept out of his way, so that's no surprise when he doesn't even recognise her. But when he does, he showers her with contempt and disdain.
Faye's budding relationship with a handsome Adonis doesn't help. And then there's Sondra. Faye's vile stepsister.
Don't forget, that the hero is a widower who loved his first wife "demently". I guess jealousy is in his blood. And he doesn't even grovel properly. He doesn't have to - Faye is ripe for picking.
