"If you like sexy fantasy, and I do, this is one great read." -Piers Anthony, author of the Xanth series
With thousands of readers worldwide, Radley's Home for Horny Monsters is the exciting debut novel of Annabelle Hawthorne.
When Mike Radley inherited a mysterious old house from a long-lost relative, he wasn't sure what to expect.
He didn't expect a sexual encounter with the water spirit living in his bathtub.
He really didn't expect the rooms to be occupied by other mythical creatures.
And he definitely didn't expect to become the target of a secret society bent on stealing the home's magic.
Welcome to the Radley House. Expect the unexpected.
I thought long and HARD (lol) about whether to share Radley’s Home for Horny Monsters, let alone read it, but I was curious. A long lost relative dies and Mike inherits everything! He is the caretaker of a historical house and the monsters that live there. It didn’t take me long and I found myself saying NO, UH UH, NO WAY. Explicit sex and a LOT of it, but I read on. I found myself laughing, at times, and worrying for Mike and his friends, at other times.
There are those who want the house…at all costs…and will do anything to get it.
Erotic/erotica stories are not a normal read for me. I do love that it does have that shock factor. SEX, SEX, AND MORE SEX, with mythological monsters, no less, and I did enjoy my visit to Radley House.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Radley’s Home for Horny Monsters by Annabelle Hawthorne.
A fantasy that really shown far beyond what I expected from a Erotica title. really good characters with a story that I am chomping at the bit to get more of. I honestly can't wait for the 2nd, 3rd, ...... in the series. Tons of fun Highly recommend giving it a try!
I want to love this book as it's inventive and different. It takes into account that different creatures would have different anatomy and explains itself well, but I find myself struggling with it.
The author makes a point to talk on a woman's worst fear is to be forced into sex, and then has several moments where the male main character is forced into sex and even a female character, even though she's the villain, is essentially drugged into wanting sex before she's killed. Rape is rape no matter the gender or species, and it's never been a fantasy of mine. More power to those who's fantasy it is. This is absolutely a good book for you, and I do not judge you for that.
I will be trying the second book to see if it's less rape fantasy filled because everything deserves a second chance, but if I find no, or little to no improvement, I'm out.

Crazy hot -and I care about the characters A good story. Likeable characters. Super hot sex. Interesting premise with lots of room for more story to grow and expand. Also this is an erotic harem book I can believe was written by a woman. It's the little touches like a female character scratching under her boob, and descriptions based more on how things feel than how they would look on a screen. these are things a writer would never get from just watching TV or movies, you have to live in the world to get these little details. And she slips them in subtlety with out hitting you over the head. -Of special note here is the quality of the relationships. There is almost no internal antagonism between the partners. This book proves once and for all that they were never needed. Mike (the MC) is manly without being an aggressive dick. He can project confidence wile sitting sipping a drink, Not all "up in your face" posturing. Ms Hawthorne sidesteps many of the tired tropes in harem (or at the very least, mitigates them). This book has plenty of danger, and conflict, and hostility, But none of it comes from within the relationships. The wives and girlfriends do not snipe at each other. (reread that last sentence, and then clutch this book to your heart) This is a very well crafted fantasy book, even without these sex scenes that made me break out in a sweat.
I don't know where to start with this saga. "Radley's Home for Horny Monsters" is just spectacular, one of the best things I've read in independent publishing. Reading this is such a lot of fun, a sexy roller coaster ride of supernatural mayhem. Great characters, plot, suspense, excitement (erotic and otherwise) and just an all round hoot to read!
I found this story on Amazon, and gladly paid the $4.99 purchase price. I found out later that this book represents just parts 1 through 12 of a saga that's still being written. As of this writing the author is up to part 45, and is still going strong. I don't know when the continuations will be available on Amazon, but for now they are available at Literotica.com. When they are available on Amazon, I'll buy them, but meanwhile I'm blazing forward at Literotica. I really want to read the rest of this!
I found this gem by accident, but I have been a convert. Solid story, believable characters despite the mythical nature of many, all combined with an almost casual sexual overlay, that made this an enjoyable read.
I don’t recall reading any fantasy novels since Harry Potter with my young daughter 20 years ago. This was a real eye opener from a truly imaginative author.
The story was complicated, yet very well written and edited, and only a little over the top. And the sex - WOW - talk about inventive! It included sex for love, sex for lust, sex for competition and sex for survival. Plus a fair amount of kink beyond simply sex with monsters.
I thought initially I had seen a number of positive reviews by women. As I read along, I figured I had better check my recollection because (apologies for the stereotyping) this story is basically every young man’s fantasy. All of the monster characters are female and cannot get enough of our hero who is patient, thoughtful, resourceful, has big equipment, and is into sharing his talents. And the female monsters are happy to share. That there isn’t a single negative review leads me to believe that women are accepting of this form of description in fantasy; I thought at least some would take a run at it.
The characters were well and fully described, and they grew and evolved through the story. Although our hero carries his own scars, he is empathetic, caring, imaginative, protective, and has wonderful stamina 😉. Dare I suggest, every woman’s dream? 😉😉
There seems to be at least one more book in this series. I’ll probably give it a go; this story was just an unexpectedly fun read.
So when I signed up for this I was totally expecting what my hubby likes to call book porn.
Don’t get me wrong – that is what this was – but it was so much more. I find that so often when reading erotica that a lot of the story line gets left behind for the sex scenes (like pretty much any porno I guess). Please do not misunderstand what I am saying – I am a HUGE fan of erotica as a genre because there can be so much potential found in it. But with Radley’s Home there was so much more meat to the bones of the story.
The story had so much detail added to it and the extra elements of mystery and fun made this such a great read. All the character details and all the epic monstery monsters made it impossible for me to put down this book. I cannot wait to get my hands on MORE MORE MORE.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review. This is my honest opinion and I was in now way reimbursed for this review.
Despite the whimsical title, I didn't leap on these books when I first saw them floating around in my Kindle recommendations. Seeing it was billed primarily as "erotica" didn't help. However, some of my Goodreads friends and some authors I like 5-starred this one, I figured I'd give it a go.
Full disclosure: I am far more likely to take a chance on something on KU. To get me to actually pony up some cash for a book by a new (to me) author I'll need some known-quality recommendations, which is how we get here.
The blurb sets the scene well, and the characters and writing quality bring the story to life. There is of course a lot of sex, but it is paced out well in the narrative. The biggest endorsement I can give is that I immediately downloaded the second (and as of this writing, also the third) book in the series.
Already one of my favorite books of all time! A great story with such memorable characters!
I fell in love with this story from the start! The characters are so infectious, and when you couple that with a vast story that has room to grow and sprinkle in scenes of mind-numbing sex, you have a masterpiece!
The premise is a emotionally scarred man who inherits a run down large house that, unbeknownst to him is inhabited by monsters of every sort..horny ones! He enjoys it because, as you get deeper into the story, they help heal him gradually of his trauma. The antagonists of the story are a coven of witches who want the house and it’s contents to seemingly grow their power and influence.
The sexual dynamics of this book will leave you panting! Listen, this author is such a good writer that you’ll feel like you are engaging in sex with these beings! No stone is left unturned. I felt like I was having so much good sex in this book! I was craving it, especially with the water nymph! But I also loved the succubus later in the story! Yes she was a demon but damn she was sexy!
Anyways, read this book! I purchased it on kindle and definitely want to support this authors work, all of it! 5/5!
Yes there is a lot of sex in this book. Most of the sex is between a human and monster girls. The sex is pretty much the purpose of the book. That doesn't mean there isn't a story here. It also doesn't mean that there isn't emotion involved. This is more a story about a bunch of outcasts that find love together.
So with all these five star reviews I feel like I'm in another dimension. Or maybe just in the wrong one. Yes I get it this is erotica. But that's all it is. There is no plot, unless the plot is an excuse to have sex with anyone with a hole in their body. There is no character depth, no world building, no anything other to do than sex. I've just spoiled the whole book... my bad. My main thought is, anyone could have written this.
So why did I read it when I so clearly wouldn't have enjoyed it in the first place. I lost a bet. Do I like smut, uh hell yes. But I also like originality and depth. I want to feel something for the characters. Root for them, laugh with them. There wasn't a single thing about the characters I could relate to or even want to relate to. There was literally nothing here for me.
Thank goodness it was on Audible so I could listen on super speed. Actually it would have been better if I bumped it up enough to have chipmunk impersonators. Be forewarned there is a disgusting rape scene where someone is drugged and it's, supposedly, to save her life. (Cue eye roll). Sorry not a kink in my wheelhouse.
Shockingly well put together. The genre really does not encourage thoughtful plotlines and original content, but this is as fresh as Archibald Bradford's stuff when it first arrived and written better. I am definantly following her as my new favorite author. The premise is new and driven by the setting and the whole story is filled with hints about further plotlines. Terrific!

Was looking for something new and I found this. Was really happy and will be reading anything else that the author publishes. Character development is rich and so too the world building. Premise of the story was interesting and villains are as believable as the main character and the monsters. I am hoping that this is not a stand alone book and that there isore to come. Of it is stand alone than it finances at a nice point. For an indi author, it is well checked with almost no grammatical errors what so ever. I have read books from major publishing houses with far more errors in them. If you are after some adult fun, do yourself a favour and read this now.
Let’s be clear: this book is pure, unfiltered smut. It absolutely lives up to its name. And yet… somehow, it’s also more than that?
I have no idea how I ended up with this book, but I don’t mind that I did. Beneath the steamy monster girl escapades (which, again, abundant) is a surprisingly engaging story with endearing characters and a plot that goes way beyond what I expected. Mike isn’t just a placeholder protagonist; the supernatural residents of his new home aren’t just one-note seductresses. There’s actual world-building here, which makes the whole thing feel less like a string of scenes and more like an urban fantasy novel that just happens to be very, very explicit.
Jon, I’m not sure this one is for you, but Phoebe—I'll recommend this to you because… reasons. But, I don't know if you'll come across it at the library.
Will I read the sequel? Let's say I won't not read it. Will I be careful about where I read it? Oh, absolutely.
An excellent read ESPECIALLY for an erotica book. She does an excellent job of balancing a fantasy read with the erotic content. Too many authors fail to maintain this balance and fall into the trap of erotica without a real story. She doesn't, she maintains both throughout the book.
It's fun, entertaining, captivating and overall one of the best books I've seen in the genre of erotic fiction as well as fantasy fiction.
Note: I've followed her work chapter by chapter since that date as she completed the work. So was able to give feedback and watch the story evolve. Currently eagerly reading chapter by chapter the second book. I suggest supporting her on Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/sexyannabelle...
Erotica is won or lost on the steamy sections, and Radley delivers! Also props for doing a decent job of including their more inhumane aspects, though the could do better. Don't be afraid to stretch a little with the morphology!
Wow... I've had this book on my TBR list for quite some time now and geez am I glad I finally got around to reading it! This is such a unique and fun story, has bits of everything you need to stay intriguing! Plenty of Sexy Time, action, mystery, and character development! I literally can not wait to see more of this story!
Cool story. Well edited. MC gets raped while sharing the mind of a woman, and later gets pegged by a phallic shaped object and just goes with it. Stopped reading once it was obvious he was just going to go with it. Will avoid future books, because this trend of escalation doesn't bode well.
You don't expect an erotic novel to have an exceptional fantasy story and you don't expect a fantasy story to have quality erotic scenes. This is a perfect blend of the erotic and the non erotic that I haven't seen before. This is a truly excellent story that I highly recommend.
I had never read a monster erotic book before but if they are anywhere near the level of writing as this one I will read more. Ms Hawthorne does an incredible job creating both a fantasy world and fantasy sexual situations that are guaranteed to excite.
Enjoyed this book right up to the succubus scene. If pegging is your thing then you’ll like this series. It killed the book for me. Won’t be finishing this series
Well now, this was an unexpectedly entertaining read! Don’t get me wrong, it sounded like a fun read, and I went into it with high expectations for a little monster erotica, but I was not expecting the level of supernatural detail, the sheer imaginative whimsy, or the depth of the storytelling. I enjoyed Radley’s Home for Horny Monsters far more than I expected, and I’m eager to explore more of Annabelle Hawthorne’s shelves.
The whole creepy Victorian house of secrets and mysterious inheritance angle had me intrigued from the start, and I liked how damaged Mike clearly was, but where this really wowed me was with the watery erotica of his first encounter with translucent Naia. The visuals of that scene were unlike anything else I’d ever read, and . . . well, I think that lovely nymph snatched a piece of my soul as well.
The first few chapters are basically a magical bestiary of monsters within the house – nymph, goblin, gargoyle, banshee – each of whom Mike must struggle to understand before forming an erotic connection as Caretaker and protector. The darkness begins to creep in with the discovery of the hungry, monstrous gardens of the greenhouse and only grows (no pun intended) more chilling with the arrival of the fire lizard and the exposure of the witch’s plans for Mike and the monsters. What started out as a sexy romp soon becomes a genuine supernatural thriller – still sexy, still monstrous, but with dangerous stakes and violent confrontations.
Radley’s Home for Horny Monsters is a place I would very much like to visit again, especially as there are so many unanswered questions, so consider me hugely excited to know we’ll be entering the Labyrinth soon.
As far as fantasy erotica go, this is all you may want and then some. I enjoy the characters and the interactions between them for the most part. It made me even a bit sad that there weren't more calm moments to get more immersed in them, but it's to be expected from this kind of books.
That being said, why only 3 stars? (minor spoilers ahead, if you care)
well, at one point the main character carries out what i think it's safe to assume being rape. In the context of the book it's done to save the woman's life, but she's basically drugged while not being even in control of her own body, and then they have sex to have her come back to her senses. Later, she doesn't remeber it happening and the MC is sad because he "almost had one person injured".
No, you didn't "almost had one person injured", you absolutely had sex with her body which she didn't even control.
Now, i realize that this book is an erotica, and this scene was probably only another kink i'm not particuarly into. But the fact that noone in the cast even voiced any concern about this, suggested to tell her, questioned the morality of the act before/during/after, and the general light tone in addressing consent and rape ruined the experience a bit for me. There was another scene (involving different characters) of sexual assault, but was depicted in a negative light and we got closure in the end. What about now?
Still, if you enjoy fantasy erotica and are not bothered by these scenes, go ahead, the book's worth it!
Since it's been a couple of years since I finished this book, I'll refrain from going into great detail about the plot or writing methodology - except to say this is one of those 'I know it's basically fantasy smut, but this person can actually write, and the story is somehow pretty compelling' titles. I call the genre 'actually kinda good trashy' of the sword/fantasy variety. It's definitely a niche, but one that seems to be growing out of the realm of fanfics and just smutty fiction covering monsters, magic and so forth. There's a scifi sub-sub-subset of this, but that's even more obscure.
Anyway, this book and its immediate sequel(s) are for sure higher than average grade for this kind of thing and manages to avoid the total wish fulfillment/overpowered 'MC' tropes for the most part. The women in the group think and feel for themselves, rather than getting swept up in the harem-ization process that consumes so many other works of this type. And that's a trait of this author, they seem to like writing independent and strong women with well-established motivations and lives. See the 'spinoff' or 'prequel' The Last of Her Kind to see what I mean. Definitely not for the 'inter-species' faint of heart, however. That's also one of the author's penchants, not shying away from detail in the 'this part goes into that... other part' arena.
If you're at all into this genre and my review hasn't made you start shaking your head emphatically in the negative, you probably need to check out Annabelle's stuff. You will be glad.
