In Forget Her Not, Samantha King is the only one who knows she doesn’t have it all (unless you count her mother and sister, which she doesn’t). When it comes to men, Sam won’t make time for anything more than a one-night stand. No commitments, no connections. Everything changes the morning she wakes up next to a woman for the first time, except Sam can’t actually remember what happened. But the undeniably gorgeous Mia Rossi isn’t going to let her ignore the passion they shared.
For Sam, the night she can’t remember turns out to be impossible to forget.
In Forget Her Never, Abby Dunn knows there has to be a catch. There always is. But when a sexy stranger offers a night of fun, she throws caution to the wind. Kendall Squires is a fascinating woman who knows just what to say to get what she wants. That should have been Abby's clue that Kendall would know what not to say, as well, and she shouldn't have been surprised when she learns Kendall is married.
Abby knows she has to put that night behind her, but can she ever really forget a woman like Kendall Squires?
Forget Her Not I read this earlier this year and this is what I wrote as a review then:
I'm surprised I liked this quite as much as I did. It's soul-matey, insta-lovey with tons of angst and dramatic miscommunication but it had me completely hooked and invested. Samantha King wakes up in some man's hotel room after a night of what she hopes was good sex to find that the legs she sees stepping out of the shower are a woman's.
Forget her Never Abby Dunn is getting drunk in a bar alone when a gorgeous woman offers to drive her home. She refuses after intimating the woman is a prostitute. She does end up going on a date with Kendall Squires and as much as she enjoys it, Kendall is really closed about anything to do with herself.
I enjoyed this in spite of my misgivings about infidelity (I might not have chosen it if I had read the blurb). Abby is a likeable character who has learnt from past mistakes. I’m not sure I was entirely convinced by Kendall, even by the end, but as an optimist I needed to believe love will win. Good pace, good writing and easy to recommend.

Unforgettable is made up of two great novellas, Forget Her Not and Forget Her Never.
Forget Her Not was first released as a novella in August 2017 and rereading it now just made me fall in love with it all over again. I’m so happy Elle Spencer re-released this as a double hit with Forget her Never.
Forget Her Not
Loved this story from the very beginning. Samantha King likes her own company and finds one night stands with men whenever she needs the release. That is until she wakes up with a gorgeous woman in her bed and doesn’t remember a thing about it. She brushes it off as a one-time thing but when she can’t move on or stop thinking about the woman, she decides she needs to find out more about this woman and her feelings.
Wow! Fantastic novella that left nothing hanging at the end. Loved the Epilogues and a glimpse into Samantha and Mia's life. Solid story, one I have read time and time again. This is still my favourite Lesbian Fiction Novella to date.
5 Stars
Forget Her Never
Abby done meets Kendall in a bar one night where she is very chivalrous and sweet. Abby is curious and decides to accept Kendell’s proposal of a date on her fancy boat. They have an amazing time together and Abby can see herself falling for this sweet and amazing women until she finds out she is married… now she can’t get Kendell out of her head or her heart!
This was a beautiful story and I really found myself connecting to the characters, especially Kendell. So many times I thought this would make an amazing full-length novel! I was worried about the cheating but ultimately it was for the greater good and I was okay with it by the end. My heart swelled in the last chapter with so much loveliness.

This was a new author for me, and a slightly different format in that the book is actually two novellas. I sort of liked them both but loved neither.
The first story features Sam who is an art dealer and Mia who is a Dr researching cancer. The story starts the ‘morning after’ with Sam unable to remember much of the night before. Sam is also really unlikeable to start with and her attitude towards women (and the way she describes Mia in her mind) was gross. She’s also never been with a woman before and there’s a lot of stuff about her past relationships with men. But she feels an instant connection with Mia (that I didn’t really buy). Mia is a saint, who unfortunately is also the sister of Sam’s first boyfriend. This situation is also gross. Even after they get together there’s a lot of push and pull and weird family dramas. But the story is given a wrap up ending and epilogue, so you get to see how things turn out.
Second story features Abby and Kendall, and I loved their instant connection but not the fact that Kendall was married. Once Abby discovers this, there’s just a lot of mutual pining and this goes on for the majority of the story. This one could have used an epilogue, I felt like we deserved a bit more of their HEA after all the angst.
So, two intriguing premises, but the execution left a bit to be desired. Still, I was intrigued enough to want to try a full length book by the author. 3 stars.
This book presents two romantic novellas with characters who are unforgettable for different reasons. In 'Forget her not' Samantha King is a straight art dealer that wakes up naked in bed with a woman and she doesn't remember anything about it. She is compelled to know what happened that night of her first and only lesbian experience but, is it just curiosity?
This is my favourite of the two stories, I like that the concept is so original. The two main characters are well rounded and very realistic, specially Sam, who is a very complicated and multi-layered character. The dialogues are natural sounding and their chemistry is off the charts. The story is sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking and it has the right amount of angst and drama. Overall, 4.5 stars.
In 'Forget her never', Abby Dunn has a one night stand with gorgeous and sexy Kendall Squires who is everything Abby dreams of. Their attraction is undeniable but Kendall is married and that night together should be left in the past. If only they can forget each other...
This is an age gap romance with a bit of infidelity and a lot of drama. Even though I connected with the main characters and their chemistry is hot, the plot doesn't seem to flow so well and part of the conflict feels a bit forced. There are at least four different points of view which were in my opinion unnecessary. The twists and turns, the angst and anguish were too much for me. However, readers who love their romances with loads of drama might enjoy it much more. Overall, 3.5 stars.
All in all, a very good and entertaining read. 4 stars.

Both stories are well written and have interesting plots and characters. Overall Elle Spencer is a fabulous author and I cannot wait to read her next full-length book.
Novella 1, Forget Her Not: So.....I have done some stupid things when I'm drunk. Who hasn't. Sometime in my early 20s I drank waaayy too much and ended up having a make out sesh with my gay best male friend and we fell over onto a drag queen's stage in the middle of her performance and I will never, ever forget my embarrassment nor her withering look as she side stepped our sorry asses.
That's the thing. I REMEMBER IT. Sure there's a few fuzzy parts, some gaps in the night, but How the Hell much did Samantha King drink that she forget an ENTIRE NIGHT OF HOT LESBIAN SEX??! And not any sex....but her first experience with a lady, and not just any lady but a stunning and intelligent femme who made her come twice?? WHO PUT ROOFIES IN HER DRINK? Goddamned it.
I really had trouble with novella #1 and give it 2 stars, because that first part is so unbelievable. She doesn't remember any single detail! Then there was the major whiplash I got from the back and forth of "yes i want her wait no i don't." It felt so manic. Literally one chapter ends with her stating "you have to fight for me." and the very next chapter begins with "i don't even know if i want her to fight for me." AARRRRHH! Normally I loooove femme/femme stories and was looking forward to this l'il ditty but it was too emotionally dysregulated for me. Samantha needs some major dialectical behavoural therapy. Also how the frantic pace was....it felt like a mere week went by before they wanted to move cities and meet families and......sloooooow dooooowwwnnnn.
I did like how the author ended the story though, there was closure and some sweet and hot moments that fell into place nicely. So that was redeeming.
Novella #2, Forget her Never: Much better in some regards, a solid 3.5 stars. I laughed out loud at the witty banter between Kendall and Abby. The author did an excellent job with the dialogue and build up. I do not like themes of infidelity, at all, however Kendall's spouse was so utterly deplorable that I was actually rooting for their break up. The love scene on the boat was fantasy-worthy......*sigh* Very hot. But there are a lot of gaps, and I'd actually like to see this evolve into a longer story. Why WAS Kendall in the bar that first night? What's the backstory of the power families? I could go on.
However I did not like the abrupt ending, it felt really rushed and nothing was really tied up. A nice epilogue like in book #1 would have been welcome.
“She thinks I’m beautiful! I’m so excited, I jump up and down a few times and yes, I even let out a little squeal.”
That's Sam, the female Casanova squealing like a child because her crush texted her. How can I not love her. She might be a hot mess but she's a hilarious hot mess. Even when Sam couldn't remember about her night with Mia, she couldn't stop thinking about her. Sam and Mia were so cute together. A little issue I had was the "wanna date? no wait you deserve better" cycle Samantha seemed to be on which she ended with "wanna get married?" That girl had zero chill. That epilogue had me scared, I thought she died. THAT WAS SO RUDE!! 4.0
Forget Her Never
“Don’t you want to know the truth?” “Will the truth hurt?” “The truth always hurts.” “Then lie to me.”
It wasn't as good as the first. I liked the flirty banter between Abby and Kendall. They were sweet together but I didn't feel as much of a connection that I did with Mia and Sam. The infidelity and unnecessary drama didn't help it's case. 3
The review to Forget Her Not can be found here. This is solely a review for Forget Her Never.
I wish I could say I liked this second story as much as the first but I can't. As you probably know, if you've read the blurb, Forget Her Never deals with infidelity so needless to say this story is packed with angst and drama.
Sadly (or thank goodness) I couldn't relate to either of the MC's. Not just because of the cheating involved but I couldn't understand the reasoning behind their behavior. MC Abby doesn't seem to learn from her mistakes and MC Kendall has every reason and opportunity to be free as a bird yet chooses to remain shackled so I can't say I felt any sympathy for the characters. Someone really should tell Abby that if you're the one she cheats with, you'll also be the one she cheats on.
Elle Spencer has once again managed to cram a ton of things in this story and I'm totally fine with that since it really kept the plot moving. However the solution to everyone's problem was glaringly obvious and made for a really frustrating read at times. I normally don't like admitting that I skimmed a book but I did. Why draw out my own torture, right?
This particular second story gets 2*. Overall the book gets a 3* rating.
Two reads with interesting characters and stories that will have you thinking about relationships, love, and forever. In the first read, Samantha King may look like she has it all from the outside but on the inside she knows differently because one-night stands are just not enough. Mia Rossi is looking for forever and she believes she has found it with Samantha. There is tension. There is history. There is an undeniable connection. I appreciated the self-talk and push/pull of the relationship. In the second read, infidelity with a 'twist' is how I see this unfolding. When a person appears to good to be true, that is probably an accurate assessment. Abby Dunn, a talented architect with a promising future thinks she has found the one to share her life with. Kendall Squires, an accomplished women with a story to tell that she is unwilling to share. Both are presented as interesting people with unmet desires. Though the infidelity was bothersome, I still enjoyed the read.

I’m still in love with Forget Her Not, rereading it was a treat.
Now, the part where it gets tricky for me. Let’s talk about Forget Her Never. I don't like unfaithfulness. I don’t find it romantic in any way. It’s pretty simple, if you no longer love/like your partner, leave, walk away, set them free, because it doesn’t matter if they cheated on you first, or if you don’t love them like you used to, or whatever you use to rationalize. Being with someone whilst being in a relationship with someone else is wrong. Period.
That said, I enjoyed the writing and the characters. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. It was a good story even if I really can’t stand cheating.
If you like angsty romances, this is the book for you! Both stories pack a punch, with so much “will they or won’t they” that I kind of wondered how they’d turn out (yes, even though it’s marketed as romance!).
Also, be warned—I couldn’t put either story down once I’d started them, because I got so invested in these couples and their happily ever afters. So if you’re going to pick Unforgettable up, you might want to make sure your afternoon or evening are clear before you start reading it.
I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I normally struggle a bit with short stories/novellas since most of them are really fast paced and usually very insta-lovey but for some reason I didn't mind it as much in these ones.
Both of the stories really surprised me, there was a looot of angst, more than I normally expect in a short story and I might even have shed some tears reading this.
The first story Forget Her Not is about Samantha King who wakes up in bed with a woman and doesn't remember any of it, it's her first time ever being with a woman but for some reason she feels very drawn to Mia Rossi and their story begins. I think this was my least favorite out of the two. I for some reason felt like I had read this before (which I haven't according to goodreads) so I'm really confused about that but anywho. I think I enjoyed the first half of this a lot more than the ending, I think it was just too short so everything happened really fast (which like I said before I guess is kind of expected in a short story but still).
The other story is Forget Her Never which is about Abby who's alone at a bar when a beautiful woman named Kendall offers to help her home. I really enjoyed this one, I really liked both Abby and Kendall as characters, the only problem I had is that this story involves cheating and it's a big part of the whole story. That's why I'm still surprised this was my favorite out of the two.
I am definitely gonna have to pick up some more Elle Spencer novels after this since I really enjoyed her writing. I gave this book a rating of 4 stars but if I had to rate the two stories individually I'd give Forget her Not a 2.75ish and Forget her Never a 3.75ish.
I am a romantic, yes, yes, and I love romantic stories well written. Here, for our greatest pleasure, we have two. Forget her Not and Forget her Never.
In Forget her Not, Samantha, straight woman, who during these business trips, more than a one-night stand in the various hotels where she resides. But one morning she wakes up with a woman, Mia, for the first time in her life, and remembers nothing. I had 2 times a sense of déjà vu in this story, and I understood after why. As much Mia is all sweet and loving, as Samantha, because of her past, is in permanent doubt. These two characters are very endearing and this story is very romantic, well written.
In the second story, Forget Her Never, Abby and Kendall come together for a fascinating night, but Kendall evades some questions. She will see later that Kendall is married ... Here again we have romance, love, but here, the theme of infidelity is pregnant, which is the interest and the twists of the narrative. Characters differing in age and social status, but so emotionally and emotionally compatible.
I don't understand the cover that seems to me too tasty compared to the contents of the book ...
2 stories in one book which is amazing. I honestly loved both. Ups and Downs in both. The constant questioning if what you think or what you should do or is it going to work? All of that put in the body of 4 beautiful ladies. There is really nothing more to add but read!
I found this ruby of a book on my TBR shelves! This book is two wonderful novellas. I won't go into a long description of both of the stories, you've already read the description, and other reviews have gone into detail. Just know you'll be happy you read both stories. They are age gap, HOT love stories! Definitely 5 stars!
This is a collection of two novellas from this author, Forget Me Not and Forget Her Never. The novellas are unrelated.
Forget Me Not has Samantha waking up after a drunken one night stand to find that she's spent the night with Mia. As Samantha identifies as straight, this is something of a surprise, and she doesn't handle the situation well or that she's still attracted to Mia.
Forget Her Never has Abby and Kendall meeting in a bar and going on an amazing date, only for Abby to find out later that Kendall is married.
I much preferred the first novella, but both are quick reads.
Normally I tend not to read Novellas because I feel sort of cheated by how quickly the story moves. After reading Unforgettable, I believe I will take more chances on reading novellas.
Forget her Not The story of Samantha and Mia was very interesting. Sam wakes up the morning after in the hotel room of a woman, but she can't remember anything that happened (other than she knows they had sex). Even though this is her first encounter with a woman, there is obvious chemistry and sexual tension. She doesn't even remember the woman's name. The story flow well, is well written and takes place over several months time (until you get to the epilogue). The pace of Forget her Not is fast, but you get a good idea of who each character is. I do wish this one was a full length novel so I can see how the characters interact with each other. There weren't many things that bothered me in this one. The one that stands out the most is that I found Samantha slightly annoying. Her character seems to be sure of herself, but really she isn't and it comes out in her thoughts. It just sort of annoyed me. I rate this one a 4.
Forget her Never I liked this one slightly better. This novella moved just as fast and takes place over several months. Abby could be considered an ice queen in the beginning but she quickly falls Kendall after their first date. It isn't until she realizes that Kendall is married that she decides to back off. The pace of this one is just as fast as Forget her Not. I would think that many readers can relate to the story of Abby and Kendall. This one has even better chemistry than Forget her not. I liked these two characters together. I rate this one a 4 mainly because I felt cheated in the end. There is no epilogue at the end like Forget her Not. I desperately wanted to see how things played out.
I read forget her not earlier this year, thought it was a great novella. Was a little disappointed I wasn’t getting a totally new story when getting this book, but the second story made up for it. I don’t usually like stories about affairs, but take that out of the story and I did enjoy it. At one point I wanted to understand and know the Kendall character better and for a split second thought I should google her. Then remembered it was a made up character.
I don't give 5*s to Novellas but I'll make an exception here. I think Elle Spencer writes like a dream, and makes difficult subjects palatable. Recommended.
Two stories in one book. The theme is “life altering one night stands”. The first story Unforgettable had a solid beginning, however, the middle part and towards the end? The back and forth like literally more than three times was a tad bit done too much. Also, because it was a rushed story it didn’t feel explored much.
The second story, Forget Her Never had a bit of grey area in the plot which was nice (I love me some moral complication). Again, I guess due to the shortness of the story it didn’t feel explored enough and the plot had great potential for emotional scarring for me. I still enjoyed both short stories.
Only review of Forget Her Not since I don't do cheating
If this was a full novel I probably would've really liked it but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The beginning was actually pretty good. The pacing was right and we were seeing the start of a promising romance. Then they had sex and everything went downhill from there Everything was so fast! I was never given enough time to fully ingest what just happened before something else was thrown at me. Also, the whole Samantha King was gods gift to men and women scenario had me rolling my eyes.
All and all very disappointing because it could've been so much more.
4 stars Two well written, interesting and entertaining novellas. Forget Her Not and Forget Her Never. One big complain though. I would have liked a more fleshed out ending in Forget Her Never. It felt somehow half done and it knocked a star off my rating. Recommended to all romance fans especially for those who love drama, angst and younger/older relationships. eARC via NetGalley
I am utterly and completely in-love with the writings of Elle Spencer, with how much detail she can encapsulate in a novella...BUT sadly "Forget Her Never" was a bit of a miss for me. That said, the characters are complex/multi-dimensional, real/flawed/human and sexy; I simply found myself unable to connect/relate AND immerse myself in all the drama on the page.
Unforgettable is a compilation of two good novellas, both of which are very enjoyable and readable. The first story, Forget Her Not, has been available previously and I have read it before. The second, Forget Her Never, was new for me. Elle Spencer is a great writer, blending quirky humour, sexy romance, and excellent stories in a way I normally associate with some British writers. The author’s full-length novel Casting Lacey is, without a doubt in my mind, one of the very best books written in this genre. Both of these stories share much of that book’s greatness but to me, they possibly suffer from too much shortness (that is a real word, honest). I wonder if these should have been expanded into full novels. I’m sure they would have worked without losing the unique perspective of the shorter style. Four and a half stars for me, rounding to five, just dropping a half-star for being novellas and not full novels. Recommended.
4 stars. This was such a dramatic read. Borderline soap opera levels and I really enjoyed both stories. ’Forget Me Not’ was definitely my favorite of the two but that’s because I liked the story and the characters. All of this was so much. A lot of feels, angst, and dramatics which is exactly what I was in the mood for. I liked these short stories and I thought the writing was good. I’m glad that I picked up something else by Spencer because this was way more my type of read.
I loved both of these short stories. What started out as with tons of angst and dramatic miscommunication ended up being sweet love stories. Elle Spencer is a new writer but I expect great things from her. She knows how to weave a story and suck you in. I was always waiting to see what happens next.
All the feels! I couldn't put this book down. Forget Her Not was brilliant, and Forget Her Never was just great. Whilst I cringed at times with the latter due to personal reasons, the story was perfectly written so you empathise with Abby and Kendall... and forgive them their mistakes. I'd read these stories again.
I loved story 2 more than I loved story 1. Story 1 I give 4 stars. Story 2 was almost more than 5 stars. But than Syd got a too big part in the book and she was annoying. All of the sudden Kendal was the pov. And there really should have been a sexscene on page at the end of the book. The sex scene was very hot 🔥🔥. So story 2 got 4,5 stars. Overall 4 stars.

Unforgettable is actually two novellas bundled together. I’ll be reviewing each separately below.
In Forget Her Not, Samantha King queen of the one night stand with men, has woken up next to Mia Rossi—and she can’t remember a thing about their night, only that it changed something within her. But the obstacle to their relationship isn’t that Sam can’t quite remember what happened, or even that they live far away from each other–the biggest two are that Sam thinks she’s a huge fuck-up and that Mia is her ex-boyfriend’s little sister.
That the love interest is the little sister of the man she dated for quite a long time, even to the point of him proposing to her, is a new twist on the dating someone who is known very well by the protagonist. That part is done well, including a showdown between Samantha and her ex.
However, the thing that slows down the book is that Samantha has only one method of coping–self sabotage. There’s a point, though, after which I thought Mia was crazy to keep running after her. But I was rooting on each of the women individually–for Sam to see that she deserves love, and for Mia to kick ass, but it was hard to root for them as a couple. But I suppose that’s the point–love isn’t always logical
***
In Forget Her Never Abby hooks up with the incomparable Kendall and they have an amazing night together. Only for Abby to find out that Kendall is married. Worse, she’s Kendall Squires, half of the lesbian power couple that’s changing New York’s skyline, and Abby is an architect. When Kendall’s wife finds out, she threatens Abby’s job.
Abby tries so hard to do the right thing, but is miserable. Kendall, on the other hand, is tired of living in a loveless marriage, and can’t get Abby out of her mind. When Abby and Kendall try to be just friends, their chemistry makes it impossible.
Of the two novellas, I think I bought into this one better. Kendall and Abby have the kind of raw chemistry that drags you in. I was rooting much more for them as a couple, even when the way forward seemed impossible.
***
Spencer does a good job of providing two very distinct stories, both in the “a night so amazing you’ll never forget it” trope. All four women involved have distinct voices and motivations. Each love has its unique barriers.
But for me, the biggest test is whether the book holds my interest. While there were moments when the stories dragged, it was never so much that I started to consider looking at another book instead.
