Ravens Ruin MC #1

Sins of the Father

Rate this book
I didn’t want the legacy of leading my father’s MC.

I didn’t want to be him.

I didn’t want to feel soul-deep attraction to the girl my sister brought home from school.

But, we don’t always control our destinies, do we?

As the new President of the Ravens Ruin MC, I had a list of changes that needed to be made for the club.

The same woman in my bed night after night wasn’t on that list.

Yet, here I am, sheets tangled, skin smelling like hers, and a devious smile on my face.

Ooh! There’s nothing more thrilling than discovering a new series in a much loved sub-genre. It’s been a while since I’ve read a great new MC series and I think I’ve just hit upon one.

This is a great first book in the series, introducing a plethora of characters and giving just enough of a taste of each, to whet our appetites. Teasing with just enough about each of the brothers to ensure that you'll want to know their stories too.

As much as I was drawn to these intriguing characters that we meet, the focus is undeniably on Lynch.

Lynch is an incredible character. Alpha, protective, loyal but deadly, he’s the Prez of the Ravens Ruin MC.
Candi, naively has no idea what she’s let herself in for.

There is drama, twists and turns and bloodshed with a few surprises along the way.

I absolutely loved this book - Lynch in particular - and cannot wait for the next in this series. I’m eager to hear Briar’s story but the silent one has captured my attention the most....

A thrilling start to what looks to be a promisingly captivating series.

I have finally broken my Marie James cherry!!! I have been a stalker of hers for a while now but just haven’t gotten through my never ending TBR. I have heard she writes some damn good MC books and I have been chomping at the bit to get to one of them..lol And what a great way to start with a new series she has releasing!!! Sins of the Father!!! Gahhh now I definitely need to go back and read her other series!!

Zoe aka Candi’s friend invited her to a MC party. Candi had heard everybody loved going to these parties so she was ready to go. Candi didn’t know that her friend was actually family to these guys though. Candi was warned to stay away from the Ravens Ruin MC prez-Lynch. Lynch was one devious bastard and one Hell of a bad boy. Ohhh y’all, I do have to say Lynch is sooo what I love in my MC guys!!! Lord I could not put this book down, I loved reading every minute of it and LAWD was it Smoken HAWT!!! Marie James, you have that shit down!!!

The first time Lynch sees Candi, he was having a bit of fun and asked her to join, well, he demanded her ass to come join in on the fun. Lynch is such a dirty boy, you just wait and see ladies. Haha Anyway, Candi loves pushing Lynch’s buttons and after he finds out who she is he tries soo hard to stay away from her. But it’s hard when she is running around in the club with her skimpy clothes on and there is something about this girl he cannot walk away from. She definitely was messing with his head; he could hardly rule his club with her running around. What is a prez to do??

Well you will have to go one click on release day and find out how he handles this girl. You will also get the answers to who she is and why he really should stay away from her. There is soo much good ole MC drama going on it will give you whip lash while you read..and of course this is always another one of my favs to keep those pages turning well into the night!!!

I gave Sins of the Father 5 iScream Books Stars!!! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!!!

I’m seriously shocked that there wasn’t a review below 3 stars... I love dark and gritty MC stories but this one left a nasty taste in my mouth... I mean who the heck has a threesome with a stranger pages into a book?

Sins of the Father
(Ravens Ruin MC #1)
by Marie James
4.5 Stars

Wowza what a story to pop my Marie James Cherry! Sins of the Father is the first book in the new series Ravens Ruin MC. What a start we are taken on with this book! Can’t wait to read more about the boys of this motorcycle club.

Newly appointed President of the club, Eric Jenkins aka Lynch has been around the club his whole life. He has become the president after his father had held it for years.

Zoe Clark aka Candi is new to the MC scene. Her best friend has taken her to the Ravens Ruin MC compound, possibly to check off one of her bucket list items.

As the story unfolds, we meet the men of the MC and the gals who work the club. I enjoyed the friendship with the gals and the conversations they had between each other.

While we get super-hot steamy scenes in this story, hot diggity dog where they hot!!! We also get the story of what the MC club is up to. Who is working now that the new president has taken over and who isn’t. The traitors are immediately taken care of.

Great book to pop my Marie James cherry! The writing was smooth, and the story flowed perfectly. Marie James hooked me with this new series! Will have to check out all of her other books.

I started not to do a review on this book but then decided I need to give my perspective of a book that has so many 5 star reviews. That's the reason I one clicked it. I really can't decide whether to give it 2 stars or 3 stars. The h is a college student who is the BFF of the H's sister. She comes to the MC clubhouse with the sister with a goal of having hot sex with the president. She has a bucket list of different types of sex she wants to check off her list. Well, all I can say is, if those of you who have read The Last Riders series think the open sex in those books is wild, those books are very mild compared to this book. The sex is OTT, salacious and occurs continuously throughout the book. The H/h share and the h is completely onboard with it. Salacious is to mild of a word really. What I can't understand is why I kept reading it. There is a love story buried beneath all of the sex and the writing flows well. By 30% of the book I almost did not finish because of all of the sex. I am not a prude. I love to read good stories that contain well written eroticism and good sex scenes. I'm still in a quandary about what rating to give this book. I liked the love story but even for a jaded reader like me the OTT sex and so much of it turned me off.

I forgot there was so much ffm and H getting blown by ow in this book. There’s also a mfm scene. Also that time at the end when the H was going to kill the h because he though she was a spy. There wasn’t a lot of character development for the fmc so you’re wondering about that. All you know is that she has a sex bucket list.

4.5
This was a bit angsty…there was ménage and sharing. Zoe is bff with Lynch’s sister. Zoe doesn’t realize that her friends brother is the President of the MCC. She walks in on him in the middle of seggs and he asks her to join- she does… and that’s in the first pages. Later Lynch finds out she’s his sister’s bff and makes Zoe aka Candi off limits… to everyone but him. Hea.

OMG, listen I do love me a good menage scene(s) (MFF, yuck, I am a MFM or MMF but not into sharing with another woman NO FF's scenarios for me, sorry that's just me now maybe if it were one of the other menage scenarios I like then maybe I would have felt a tad better, lol BUT truly I did not like the h from the start) when I full well are expecting it and under certain circumstances BUT this wasn't one I went into expecting and/or wanting and yep, from the get-go it happened and I couldn;t have been more grossed out:( First off from the very start I already didn't like Candi/Zoe so I am not surprised I just couldn't get into this story!

Amazing well written book from beginning to end. Absolutely loved the characters and the story line. A great MC book from beginning to shocking end. Loved the chemistry between the characters and the harshness that comes through at just the right moment to make this book amazing. Marie did an amazing job with this one. Can't wait to read the next one in this series.Highly recommend reading this one.

Some spoilers below

Everybody seems too young to be doing the things they are. Lynch indicated he was patched in at 13, he's now prez at 27, and I believe it indicates Candi/Zoe is 18. That all just seems unrealistic, but what do I know? This book ends in an hfn for the couple, and a cliffhanger for business and other character's story. Finally, what I didn't like about this book was the OW stuff. H/h have 3 threesomes, and while it's not my cup of tea, whatever floats your boat. I just didn't like how Lynch started feeling too much so he goes and "breaks in" another woman by having her give him a BJ. And Zoe walks in on it, after they had just finished having sex. I can't recall if he ever apologized, but if he did it was a half done one. Finally, he was going to let her be killed for supposedly betraying the club. I just hated his character, and the way she forgave all his crap.

Holy shit!!! I feel like I have whiplash after reading that one. I mean that in such a great way as well. Lynch isn't about to admit to having feelings for any woman and their road is filled with so much pushing and pulling that you are going to want to commit acts of violence several times over in this one.

These two and their instant connection is undeniable to everyone but Lynch. He will do whatever it takes to deny what he is feeling and he may push too much. Not only that but things are heating up at the MC with outside threats and things get even more complicated.

This book had me absolutely hooked. I once again made the bad decision to start this book late at night and needless to say there was no sleeping until it was done!! Sleep be damned this book was worth the exhaustion the next day, there was no way I could put it down once I started. Ahhh I can't wait for the next one!!!

Lynch is now the President of Ravens Ruin MC, taking his father's place. (You'll need to read to find out how) He's not his father yet he's no pushover. Rules are his to make and enforce. You respect him and those rules or you leave--if you're lucky walking.

Candi/Zoe/Kat is best and only friend of Lynch's sister. Zoe finally convinces Molly to take her to the clubhouse to party. While not a virgin or sexually backward, she is unprepared for what she sees. When Lynch refuses to allow his sister and Zoe with her to leave things get interesting.

There are few if any Ol' ladies in the club. The girls in the club are friends and hang out when they aren't with the men. It is strange to Zoe and commonplace to Molly. Lynch is drawn to Zoe sexually but refuses to let himself fall for her. Since she can't seem to resist him she keeps going back for more enjoyment followed by pain and loneliness.

I found this a unique club with different personalities and rules. There is plenty of action, stranger than life characters and enemies galore. The steam is hot and always there. I didn't like Zoe's reactions to whatever Lynch did, the reason I didn't give this a five-star rating. I do recommend the book and am interested in the series and seeing other characters pair up.

This was surprising. I've read books by Marie James before, and when i say that they are nothing like this book, trust me on that one.

It was dark on so many levels and nothing like any of the previous MC Romances and bikers i've read before. This is the MC's that i hear about all the time on the news. The ones that are into drugs, into illegal activities, into murder, and have no problems using their 'talents' to get what they want.

Considering how different Sins of The Father was compared to her previous books, i couldn't get enough of it. I was hooked from the very beginning and was more than a little curious as to how every character was connected to one another. I was curious to find out if we had ever read the first generation of Ravens Ruins MC characters, or if this was entirely new.

I'm really, really, really looking forward to the next book in this series and finding out whose Ravens Ruin story we're getting next because i know for sure that it'll be just as unforgettable as this first instalment.

The first book in the series.

I'm sort of doing this backward after reading Briar and Molly's story I wanted to start at the beginning, Lynch who is Molly's brother had piqued my interest and I wanted to read how this feared man in the Ravens MC found love.

Zoe who gives herself the name Candy when she gets to the MC is just going along with Molly for the ride, she is interested in the MC and wants to bag herself a biker. Zoe isn't aware Molly her friend of 2 years is as connected as she is, she only knows she can get her in for the night but Molly is the club princess who went away to college and kept her home life a secret even from her friend.

One night turns into many when Lynch finds out the girls have been in trouble at college and the club pres makes both the girls stay for their safety and won't let them leave until he says they can leave.

Zoe finds herself in a threesome situation the first night there when she walks in on the club pres and another woman and he demands she joins in not knowing who she is which is his little sisters best friend.

These characters frustrated me, I'm under no illusions that biker men are hearts and flowers and time and time again Lynch proved that to Candy/Zoe. After having a taste of her he still got a taste of other flavors in the club too, women also known as club whores and Candy who I thought had a backbone at first just accepts it.

If you don't like cheating or men who show no respect to women this isn't a story for you.
Understanding the club life and how these men have been brought up in ways were pussy is pussy is how it is, but Lynch begins to battle with club ways in all areas, he wants to change how his father did things now he's in charge and as the plot progressed he also battles his feelings for Candy, yes, he goes about it the wrong way by trying to distract himself with other women but thankfully he does actually redeem himself at the end, in the eleventh hour maybe, but he does in the end.

Sins of the Father is hot, it's dirty, sexy and the characters are frustrating as hell. I couldn't tell you who frustrated me more Candy for taking Lynch' s man-whore ways or Lynch for thinking love is a sign of weaknesses and being a major Ass.

Overall I enjoyed it, I'm glad I read how Molly's best friend Zoe ended up being in the club and how Zoe and Lynch got together.

Each book can be read as a standalone and although I first read a book further on in the series there were no spoilers.

I would definitely read more in this series, these men need more than club whores in their lives and no doubt the pres has set a precedence for them to follow, well I'm hoping he has ;-)

Told in first person dual pov and leads to hfn

Holy Sins of the Father! I love me some kick a$$ MC books and Marie James brought it, owned it, and nailed it with this book. This is the first in the series and I have to say what a great start to the series. You get to see who the main characters are and how the club is being run since there is a new Prez.

Lynch is the new president of The Ravens Ruin MC. Taking up after his father retired Lynch knows there are things he is going to change and people are going to be taken out. No traitors in his MC you either follow the rules or you go to ground. Oh course with change some people follow the rules and others break them and that is when Lynch becomes the Devil himself. Lord he can be a cold calculated man on a mission.

The other part of a great MC book is the romance and Marie holy hell gives us angst, anxiety, and steamy steamy scenes that will boil your kindle. Candi gives Lynch a run for his money and man does he have to work for it. The push and pull between them is what makes Candi a great ole lady.

This is a MUST MUST READ MC book! I recommend it to all readers one click it and give it a go!

This the first book in a new series by Marie James. Eric/Lynch has just taken over as President from his father. Changes are in place to make the MC more whole. Lynch lives and breathes for the MC. What he doesn't expect is for a little bit of a woman to get under his skin.

Candi/Zoe is best friends with the club Princess--Eric's sister. They show up and all that sass coming from Candi just draws Lynch in. What follows is a messed up twist and turn of events. Lots of angst and push and pull between these two. Lynch purposely hurts Zoe to try and keep her away. Sometimes hard to watch knowing how much pain was resulting.

Lots of MC business tied up in the story. This is a 1% club so there are activities outside the law occurring. We meet the rest of the club and learn a bit more about Eric's family history. I don't know that I was left with the feeling there won't be more angst between these two. For now, they are happy to be together. I look forward to following their story into the next books.

Massive 5 stars from me for the start of this new MC series from Marie James.

This author has written MC books before, those are good, this series is going to be amazing.

Sins of the Father - Is a gripping story based around the Ravens Ruin MC, lots of hot sexy bikers, sassy females the usual set up for an MC, what we get with this book is so much more, it has a darker edge, a thirst for violence, lots of kink and twisted tastes.

Lynch, President of the Ravens Ruin MC is a ruthless man taught by his father, but has he learnt from passed mistakes, he is not looking for love he only wants first pick and a one time deal until Candi, who knows nothing of the MC world and will not bow down to anyone.

Lovers of MC & Darker reads this is a must one click - The storyline is epic.

Oh my...you know those kinds of books that you are reading and looking over your shoulder to make sure nobody can SEE what you're reading because OMG it's THAT steamy and naughty and wrong but you love it? YEP...this is one of those books. I love me some alpha bikers and this one has that, along with some hottie females who keep those men on their toes (while the men keep them pretty much on their knees or laps). A lot of violent action as well, intrigue and some badly behaving fathers who make their children do things in life that they shouldn't have to.
Contains FMF, FF and a whole lot of adult fun. So good!

Marie James is a new author to me and omg now I am kicking myself. There is so much wrong with this story that it makes it right.

Never have I thought that the MC club was a safe, clean, and happy go lucky place. But if you did you are not reading the right books. Marie brings a dark twist to the MC story. I will say that I did feel at times when they were talking in Church that I felt like I was missing something. I am not sure if I am as this is #1 but that doesn't mean that she didn't branch off from another MC to make this one. So I am going back to read her other stories.

First off, I have to say I loved ALL the characters in this book. And that is unusual. Candi/Zoe has no idea what she is getting into. So we walk into Raven Ruin through her eyes. Molly is her friend that gets Candi in but that is about all Molly does, to begin with.

Lynch, is a dick. He is on his own level of madness. But where his MC comes in that is his family. For whatever madness he finds that what he does it for. But now that Candi has walked into his club, she is what he craves.

Title: Sins of the Father (Ravens Ruin MC, #1)
Author: Marie James
Genre: MC, Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

📚🤓 The Book Whisperer 🤓📚

ARC received in return for an honest review.

Those of you familiar with Ms James will know that she’s no stranger to the MC genre and she has indeed a diverse range of books which fall under that category but Sins of the Father is in a league of it’s own, it’s an enthralling MC book from start to finish and in my opinion it’s her best work to date.

Within the Ravens Ruin MC we are introduced to a whole new host of riveting characters from your typical bad boy manwhore to your psychotic sociopath, the pretty boy and there’s your typical brooding biker who has you desperate to know exactly what his story is. There’s also the females of the bunch, the feisty one, the princess and the group of club girls who, in this book are actually all fairly decent as far as "whores" go.

The leading protagonists Lynch and Zoe aka Candi are the catalysts of this story and what a story it is, I would say that they were both really likeable characters but I wouldn’t be being completely honest with you, I really disliked Lynch at points, he was so bad yet very, very good at it (trust me you’ll understand).

Ms James’s writing skills had me envisioning myself sitting there within these characters lives, witnessing all the debauchery and promiscuity. I found myself going through a whole range of emotions whilst reading SOtF and that’s exactly how any author that knows what they’re doing should make you feel, Marie James certainly knows what she’s doing.

Now I’ve finished reading I need a lie down, a drink, a cigarette and some good sex, not necessarily in that order lol. If you’re into MC reads with great storylines, hot alpha-males and a feisty female or two then Sins of the Father’s one you should definitely be checking out, one-click go on you know you want to.

Now the wait is on to see what’s next for the men of Ravens Ruin MC and the woman that love them.

So I am on the fence with my thoughts of Sins Of The Father. On one hand, I liked the premise and the dark edge that it had but on the other I almost feel like it was missing something that would have made it different than other MC romances out there. It lacked the something that would make it stand out. The characters needed more depth to them, we needed more of a background on why what happens happened. While Lynch and Candie had chemistry I felt their relationship, or whatever it was, just didn’t click. Am I saying that Sins Of The Father was a bad book? No I am not, liked I said I liked the premise and darkness that the book had but I just wanted more. I am curious to see how this series will play out, so I am wanting to check out the next book. Overall, I liked it just wanted more from it. On to my next read!

What a ride !
Sins of the Father by Marie James is the first book in her brand new Ravens Ruin MC Series.
Meet Lynch - Eric Jenkins on his first day as president of the Ravens Ruin, a 1 precent MC. He´s a hard man, you could call him evil and darkness surrounds him. He knows what he wants and how to get it. He takes without a second thought. His club is his live and comes first and his family is a close second.
And then he meets a young woman who turns him upside down and inside out, Candi aka Zoe Clark.
She's best friend with his little sister and both women show up on the compound. First and foremost Candi wants some things from her bucket list, but secondly she has ulterior motives.

Sins of the Father is not a romantic MC story where the rough biker falls head over heels in love at first sight, is brought to his knees and wants to be a better man. No this book is dark, like real Dark, raw and gritty.
Let me tell you this story is not for the faint of heart and deals with some sensitive subjects. I will not spoiler here, only so much, my jaw hit the flor and I couldn't believe what I was reading. Sins of the Father is a captivating read and I couldn't put the book down , I had to know what happens next. The story "spoke" to me and I can´t get Candi and Lynch out of my head. Now I'm sitting her with a major book hangover and can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series, Briar's story.

I loved this book. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. At first I wasn't so sure because this was my 10th book in a week that I tried to read I just wasn't feeling them. Then I started to read this one and I could not put it down.
Lynch is a hard man and fights his feelings for Candi. Candi is Lynch's sister bestfriend can she also be the women that he needs? The chemistry that these two have if off the charts. One is fighting those feelings while the other is trying to keep the going.

If it were possible I'd give this book 6 stars. Not only was this book amazing, I was obsessive about it. I haven't been this obsessed over a book in a while, in fact, My boyfriend has to basically force me to go to bed the fist night. The next day I started reading at the end of the work day and only put it down to drive! I'd have to say this just might be my favorite book of Marie's so far!

From the very beginning I was hooked! Candi/Zoe really started this book out with a bang!!! Her and Lynch were HOTTTTT. Fair warning, there's LOTS of super steamy sex in this book (it's awesome LOL). We really got to see a dynamic shift at the beginning of this story. There was a plot twist within a plot twist with Molly and Candi coming to the MC. That was on the first of many. Seeing how Candi affected Lynch was definitely entertaining too, especially with the members reactions to her. Lynch, Molly and JT have so many different layers to who they are. We really got to see some of those layers, and some she still has locked up for the future. Their family dynamic is something super different in this book, it's definitely another hook. Then we get to see how the MC reacts to them and respects them.

I know I've talked multiple times before about not liking insta-love, BUT I loved the connection between Lynch and Candi. The instant connection they have and their sexual attraction was so strong! The severity of each others actions and jealousy was so damn entertaining too. Basically I loved everything about this damn book. I loved how it was a little on the dark side, had so much hot sex and had amazing characters. I cannot wait for more

Slow Sexy Start, Great Sexy End

As a huge fan of the M.C. genre, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into Sins of the Father. There's nothing like the big, tough biker that lets his old lady run the show behind the scenes and let’s face it, that's usually what these M.C. books are about. This review will be slightly vague as to protect the storylines.

Lynch was no different. He was unfeeling, unloving M.C. Prez, however like most men, can be taken down by a pretty face. This one stepped into his clubhouse and he was instantly smitten. So much for the intimidating biker. Most of the book is Lynch and his new girl sexing it up every other page. While I'm a fan of a steamy romance as well, I need a little story to go along with it. For the longest time, it was a little girl lost in an M.C. clubhouse being treated like crap, yet never leaving. I was quickly losing patience with this book.

Finally, Marie James lets the cat out of the bag and we have something going on besides all the you-know-whating and we see another kind of action that brought my attention right back to what I was reading.

The book is well written and sexy as all get out. Along with Lynch and Zoe, we interact with the other M.C. members to bring the story along. As the first book in the series, Marie James did a nice job at setting the characters up for their own stories and hopefully the Princess is next.

I was captivated with this story from the get go...and once Lynch and "Candi" meet and how they meet - OMG. This is the first book in a new series and many characters are introduced but not in a way that takes away from the story of our couple. There are twists, connections and moments you won't see coming.

Holy moly was this smoking! For those that have read the Cerberus MC series, the Ravens Ruins MC is a bit more like SOA as far as their illegal dealings and... well the willingness to kill anything that stands in their way. Lynch takes over the MC, and in his new position as President, he knows this isn't going to be a smooth transition. The last thing he needed was his sister coming back to the clubhouse and bringing her bestie, Zoe, as well as some drama of their own with. Lynch doesn't trust anyone, and has little use for women other than their given purpose. So when he has a taste of Zoe, wanting more is not usual for him, but he can't help himself and tries to do whatever it takes to get her out of his head... but what happens when he can't?

So there was so much going on, but I can't spoil anything. Just know this is a nitty gritty MC story where anything and everything can happen. The naughty bits were scorching, but had a little too much taco for me, I'm more of a burrito girl. The cast of characters that are introduced have me ready for more from this MC. I give this 4.5 stars.

Wow, this one was a lot darker than I'm used to reading from Marie James. I have only read her Cerberus (and next gen Cerberus) series' so far so I'm not sure what her other work is like, but it took me a little time to get into this one as it wasn't what I expected. Molly takes Zoe/"Candi" home with her when she has to leave college quickly. Home for Molly though is the Ravens Ruin MC, a fact that she neglected to tell her friend. Candi isn't totally freaked out though as she has a certain "list" she would like to fulfill when it comes to the bedroom and bad boy bikers are right up there on her, um to-do list, lol. I don't think she quite expected to be crossing an item off her list so quickly though, and with the President no less, a President that turns out to be Molly's brother, making her the Princess of the MC.

Lynch is the newly appointed President of Ravens Ruin and while he's still finding his feet and reorganising the club, his sister unexpectedly turns up with a hot little brunette number in tow. Lynch turned his heart off a long time ago and can't understand why "Candi" has such a pull on him. He wants her, but he doesn't want to want her, so he is constantly doing a push and pull thing with her and adds her to the DO NOT TOUCH status that is bestowed on his little sister. A notice his best friend and club brother, Briar, seems to be close to ignoring when it comes to Molly.

While I enjoyed this book, the way it started with the night Candi and Molly arrived, and the way she met Lynch, it kind of put me off a little bit. I'm not sure why but it all felt just this side of uncomfortable to me. Once I got into the book though I enjoyed it more but I only ended up liking it, I didn't love it like I usually do with a Marie James book. I'm looking forward to reading Briar's book next though, all the little scenes with him and especially the tension between him and Molly were some of my favourite parts. For now though, I give Sins of the Father 4 stars.

Wow! Sins of the Father is my first Marie James book and it won’t be my last! It is book #1 in the Ravens Ruin series and it hits the ground running! It is definitely an acquired taste. The men are raw, rough and very alpha. The women, sensual and sexy. The sex, oh the sex! Erotic and naughty. There is no missionary here! The sex alone blew me away. Other scenarios surprised me and had me cringe a bit. There is definitely an edge to this story.

Eric Jenkins aka ‘Lynch’ is the newly seated President of the Ravens Ruin MC Club. He has a lot of ground to cover. The former president, also his dad, died and left a mess for him to clean up. We are introduced to other members of the club: Chains, Hornet, Briar, Bostin, Ronan, Smalls, Axe and his brother TJ. The club is all about loyalty above all else.

Second chances are not something Ravens Ruin has ever been known for…

Zoe aka Candi is looking for some excitement. Her mom is remarried and her dad has been randomly in and out of her life. She wants to rebel against her dad and what better way than to sleep with a biker. Candi has a “sexual bucket list.” And she’d like to check some items off. Candi talks her best friend Molly into taking her to the Ravens Ruin Clubhouse. Candi has an eye opening experience and is introduced to the way of MC club life.

“I’m not looking for love, Mols. I just want to experience some bad boy for once in my life.”

Marie James takes us on quite a ride! The craziness and debauchery starts almost from the beginning. Lynch and Candi have raw, sexual chemistry that you can feel. They push each other’s boundaries in every way - sometimes practically over the edge! Lynch is such an alpha jerk! His anger and bitterness cause him to be emotionless. But the spark between him and Candi will not go away.

“My advice would be to steer clear of him at all costs. He’s a devious bastard.”

So…no spoilers here! You must read and see why Candi and Molly stay around. What is happening in the club and how will it affect Candi and Molly. There is “club business,” drama and some unexpected turns. The sex is insanely hot! The writing flows. The pieces of the story come together as the chapters melt away.

“Each time he touches me, I give a little piece of myself away.”

The men of Ravens Ruin are not soft or easy. Sins of the Father is a great start for the Ravens Ruin MC series. I cannot wait to read Briar’s story next in Purgatory’s Princess!!!

“I love women…but I’m smart enough to never trust one.”

"Wow! This was a dark twisted story of the Ravens Ruin MC. It is the first book in the Series by Marie James. We meet Eric “Lynch” Quintal who has just taken over as President of the Ravens Ruin MC by killing his father. His father’s officers immediately resign allowing Lynch to give those positions to people he wants.

The MC is just settling in to their new routine when Lynch’s sister Molly shows up with a friend named Candi. After realizing her brother is in charge and no one told her that her father was dead, Molly and Candi try to leave. They don’t want to have to explain why they aren’t at school, but Lynch stops them and insists that Molly tell him.

Lynch has one rule when it comes to wh*res, never be with them more than once. So when he breaks his rule with Candi no one knows what to think. This story has many things going on at once, dealing with Molly and Candi’s trouble, and dealing with problems in their business.

This book had all the things I love about a good MC story and I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for the next book and I look forward to finding out everyone’s stories as they unfold. "

Lynch and Zoe are utterly amazing together. They have a chemistry that is undeniable, even though they both try and deny how they feel about one another. This book is similar to a lot of MC books, drugs, whores, sex, violence - but it's the connection to the characters that I felt that made it different. I found myself routing for them to be happy in such an unhappy place. I want them all to be happy and get their HEA's. The only reason this isn't a five start book for me was there were a few time throughout the book that it seemed to jump forward in time and I didn't even realize it because the transition was lacking for me. Also, there were times things were happening and I wasn't totally clear on what was going on because that particular scene was so vague. Nothing major, just wanted a little more detail in some areas. I was also left with a few questions, as if there was a book before this, a prequel almost, that explains a few things, gives more background on a few characters past and present. Again, nothing major, just some unanswered questions. Overall, solid 4 stars and I'm DYING for book two to come out! I cannot wait!!!!
