The fifth installment of the best-selling Cherry Blossom Girls series has everything you've come to expect from the series: hot mutants, ridiculous action, meta fiction galore, new powers and new supers!
Half of America hates me, and the other half wants me dead. Regardless, I’ve decided to turn a new leaf.
Good guy Writer Gideon? Something like that. But with great power comes great responsibility, and with great power and killer women all around me…
Well, I don’t really know a quote for that one. Point is: the Cherry Blossom Girls are changing things up. We’re dressed to kill, pumped and primed, ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice.
And sure, Mother and Angel are up to no good again, and there’s the fact that the American media has painted me as a terrorist, but that’s the least of our concerns.
Let me be the first to introduce you to a terrible man named Smiley…
Warning: Cherry Blossom Girls 5 contains a harem; gamelit LitRPG humor/stats; violence; telepathic, shifter, teleportation, mimic, vector and vampiric superpowers used for auto theft, mind games, and the exploitation of the general public. This series was inspired by The Tick, Stranger Things, Deadpool, Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions, and the anime Elfen Lied. It's meta fiction at points, but you should know that by now. It also has a fair bit of humor and insight aimed at the GameLit community.
Harmon Cooper is the author of over sixty fantasy works. His bestselling series include Pilgrim, War Priest, Cowboy Necromancer, and Tokens and Towers.

What do you think the reaction would have been if after the season 4 of Friends
the entire cast was replaced by Urkel who played all the characters?
Cherry Blossom Girls audiobooks 1 to 4 was voiced and recorded by Soundbooth Theater cast who did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. Each character had a distinctive voice.
Cherry Blossom Girls audiobook 5 was recorded solely by P.J. Ochlan at Tantor Media. What a disappointment!!!! After listening to the previous book this was unbearable. Gave up after 5 minutes.
The author Harmon Cooper is having other audiobooks published by Soundbooth Theater. I wish he had stayed with them for the rest of the Cherry Blossom Girls series.
For the record, i never leave reviews, so i'm sorry for what this ends up being.
Anyway, the book was good, and everything begins ramp up. But it falls short. I drive for work so almost all i can get away with is audiobooks. I do not know what happened between the fourth book and this one, but the swapped the narrator, and it has a very detrimental effect. It really did leave me wanting the previous reader. i will prob continue the series by text if i can at some point in the future, but i really dont know if i will continue with the audiobooks. Just my two cents.
In the fifth tale of the CBGs, Writer Gideon is even more in trouble than he was before. You didn't think that was possible? Well, buy the book and find out, because I'm not telling you!
The reader sees Gideon tweaking the supers' stats (he's always playing with something or other), and testing their abilities by having competitions with each other. I think that Gideon feels he has so much to offer now that he is coming into his own, and getting more confident.
There's more on the actress that has been mentioned previously... oh, boy. We have new characters too! One who - to me, anyway - is like John Steed from 'The Avengers'. A man of many talents, he can put his hand to anything he's asked to. There's a film director, with a whole new taste in fashion. Then there is a large, muscly being with a very unique and distinctive tattoo, and a great name... but that might just be me. Gideon definitely needs to have eyes in his backside for this book.
Well written, full of action, great storyline, and chucklingly funny, this is a strong addition to Cooper's fabulous series.
I was given an eARC which I voluntarily read and honestly reviewed. Any opinions are my own.
I was glad to see the return of our favourite girls and of course Gideon. This means in true LitRPG fashion that upgrades abound especially Gideon im glad to say. There is quite a few surprises and just some amazing interaction scenes with Gideon and the girls as the fan base and new revelations take this to another level as our Superheroes clear up USA. This is the best in the series yet and I had to keep page turning till the end . Just roll on Book 6 and i hope the author doesn't keep me on tenderhooks For too long.
I received a advance copy of the book to review and give a honest opinion of the book. I enjoyed the book very much and I enjoyed how the story is evolving as the MC grows into his role as the leader of the group. The characters continue to grow and develop into unique characters with their own quirks. The MC has started to see how he can help others and grow into true hero's.
This was another great part to the overall story. I do have to say, though, there was some inconsistencies. During the time that Gideon was with Dorian and Grace, he could have easily told which one was which as he was touching them. Seemed a bit odd that the author didnt recall that fact. That was the one that stuck out the most. I recall there being a few others, however. But still a good book.
Argh, I loved the second half of this book. I’d like to see the story progress beyond AEFL as the main enemy, and I think we’re going in that direction, but maybe not there yet. This was a great add to the series but I felt like this is only hand of a book in terms of how it flowed. Looking forward to more.
I'll admit, I was feeling that this series was bogging down, but #5 is alive and moves things forward. I'm now looking forward to #6, and indications are that the arc is moving to resolution in another book or two.
Without giving any spoilers, we continue to see advancement on the story plot, the team firms up and the MC demonstrates more leadership skills that should ease their way through the apparent shit storm heading their way. Well done
Superpowered harem heroes. The continuing story of the Cherry Blossom Girls. Interesting story of the growing harem of lovely ladies. (Note: Adult content)
So Gideon always a bit of a limp biscuit has finally came into his own. As the number of Girls increase so do the number of Supers and even a surprise celebrity. The increased group size gives this a good amount to play with for interactions of all sorts and i loved how a following came about. This is the best in the series yet as Gideon powers up and makes sure that the annoying factor that was around previously has now been removed. Narration was good but it isnt SBT that made this such an amazing series so it does take a good half of the audio before i could get into it properly. This was especially obvious with Grace a personal favourite of mines but as the story ramps up and it looks to be the future narrator of choice for the rest ofnthe series and the follow up CBG international so we the audios will come out a lot sooner ( always the worst problem using SBT). A bit of a mixed bag across the board but as i love this series and the story/characters have ramped it up im still loving it.
