Edinburgh Executive
Katie Danvers can’t take over the family business in Atlanta unless she’s married. It’s an outdated requirement, but it’s in the company’s founding documents. When her grandfather, the company’s CEO, sees no signs of her marrying, he brings in Gavin Kerr, his top executive from Scotland, to be his new right-hand man. Katie is horrified, not so much at the change in company hierarchy as by the fact that Gavin is the one man she’s been avoiding for almost a decade. They had a passionate affair in Scotland nine years ago, one that ended badly, and she’s carried a grudge against him ever since. Gavin never knew why Katie left Scotland so abruptly and is puzzled by her hostility. He needs to find out what’s going on, though, because they must now work together as Grandfather’s two top executives. Given their history, is that even possible? This is book one of the new Family Business series and reads as a standalone.

IF HER FUTURE WAS AS CEO, IT WAS TIME FOR HER TO MARRY
As a fan of Ms. Laura Hart’s series books, I was happy to see a new one and will have to say, her books are written as an ongoing saga, and will need to be read in order. She writes with dominant, self-assured men, smart, feisty, and sometimes bratty women, but with two people in an entertaining relationship. Yes, Katie is somewhat of a spoiled brat at times, but when it comes to her family, she is fiercely loyal. With Gavin, he is devoted to the company, dedicated to his work, and to those he cares about, like the Danvers family, especially Katie. The story is the journey of Gavin Kerr of Scotland and Katie Danvers of Atlanta, Georgia.
Katie has been groomed to take over Danvers Industries as CEO eventually, but there is an iron-clad caveat that was written into the company bylaws from the founder, that a woman must be married. Here Katie is thirty-four, and while she has many former boyfriends, she has never been serious with one. Her grandfather is eighty-two and wants to step down, but Katie isn’t making matters easy for him, and he wants to the company to remain run by family. He will do what he feels he must, he will call in Gavin Kerr, Vice President for the European Operation.
“It’s not that there’s anything the matter with most of the guys, but I always wanted to have stars in my eyes, maybe even to be madly in love like in those silly romance books.”
The plot will have Katie seeing Gavin once again, only now it is nine years later. While she lived in Scotland, she and Gavin were a couple, but when he spanked her, she packed up and came back to the states. How can she work with him after he assaulted her? It will be a rough start, but they need to work and be professional. It will take time but the chemistry they once had hasn’t completely died, and just enough of a spark will ignite these two again.
“My fondest hope is that you’ll find what you’re looking for. Beauty is fine, but having someone to love is far more important. It gives life meaning.”
The story brings out issues of Katie’s reckless driving, being somewhat irresponsible, and that does not sit well with Gavin or her Grandfather. When it comes to being responsible and productive at work, you couldn’t ask for better, but she has been allowed to get away with too many incidences, and she needs someone to hold her accountable, and Gavin is just the man to do it. When
Grandfather wants to take a vacation, he will leave Gavin in charge, and while Katie isn’t happy, she knows she has to accept his choice. A family emergency will send her halfway around the world and leave Gavin running the company. But what happens when Gavin can’t reach Katie for days on end? Has something happened to her too?
I love the interaction between Katie and Gavin, even if she is bratty at times, he knows just how to handle a brat and proves he isn’t going to tolerate her careless and sometimes dangerous behavior. There are several spanking scenes, and while there is intimacy between them, the story isn’t overly detailed. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Katie has never found someone she would like to marry, despite having a series of relationships over many years. At one time, a relationship with Gavin, in Scotland, was promising – but she ended it suddenly and never looked back. Gavin is back in her life because he has been brought in to help run their family business – and a relationship develops again. There are many twists and turns as they fall in love. Both characters are interesting and Gavin is really a solid guy in every way – so one can’t help but look forward to seeing how the relationship progresses. There is the occasional spanking to liven things up, and that is part of the issues that need to be resolved between Katie and Gavin.

Katie Danvers has been groomed to run her family company only problem there is a caveat in the company charter that says any woman executive has to be married now her Grandfather wants to retire and she is running out of time. With no sign of her marrying her grandfather brings in Gavin Kerr the head of the european branch to start grooming him to be the new CEO. Katie is horrified not only may she lose her position but to the man she had an affair with nine years ago. The attraction between them is still there but can she get over the fact that he spanked her and move on so that they can work together and why is the attraction still as strong as it was. There is plenty of heat and drama between this couple ans I can't wait fr more in this series

Katie spent some passionate nights with Gavin a couple of years ago. But now, Gavin is back in her life, because he is supposed to help her grandfather with the firm. Katie is not happy about Gavin being back in her life, but as much as she thinks she despises him, she soon realizes that there are still feelings left.
Katie and Gavin were a great couple. Katie was pretty hostile in the beginning, but Gavin knew how to handle her - even if it took some good old fashioned discipline. I liked reading the book.

This book was outstanding! It is startling, unique, compelling, and intriguing read with amazing characters - they are funny, witty, and amazing together. The plot is consistent, relatable and flows smoothly. Love Katie and Gavin’s story and I can hardly wait to read more about them in book 2. Definitely recommended.

An emotionally sexy second chance story with great characters, romance and intrigue. The storyline is full of action and love.Grandfather brings Gavin back because Danvers Industries is in trouble. He is shocked to see her and he wonders what made her run and leave him all those years ago. Can they work together? See if they can

I was sad to see the Scotsman Series end, so I was glad to see the beginning of a new series. This one is pretty similar, but not so close that it feels like reading the same books. The characters are super likeable and drew me in from the beginning. The story itself was well written and very entertaining. This one left me looking forward to the second book.

A well written story with nice storyline and plot. I like the characters and they are well described. They have a great chemistry. They are well suited for each other. She needs a man that can step up and set bounderies for her and he can. I like the hint of dark and steamy scenes.

I enjoyed reading this story. Its well written and described. The interaction between Katie and Gavin is hot and sweet. He sets bounderies that she needs. There are some spankings and hot sex. All the characters are well done, very human. I recommend this very enjoyable sweet well done story.

This book had lots of drama. It starts with the two main characters meeting once again years after they parted. He doesn't understand why it ended so this is the reader's introduction to their past and also to their present and maybe their future. Well done.
